My father was a very good bass fisherman in Michigan. His favorite softbait was a wine colored purple worm, the kind the light goes though. He taught me to fish. I miss him.

It took me only a couple comments of reading and you mentioned the purple demon, you beat me to it, I fished the purple demon and caught many a trout in chockoloskee, I failed to check the leader as much as I should have, then a trout wanted it more than I did I suppose. I was hard-pressed to locate another after a very long time, you're asking yourself did he only buy one or all they had, you guessed it, the latter👍🍺
I've caught a lot of fish on purple mainly seatrout, and always in the winter.but haven't tried them other than in the winter actually I don't carry purple baits with me the rest of the year. Guess I'll have to add some to the box.
I have tried this bait since the video was posted. I can’t buy a bite on this one. Switch back to my white jerk shad and back on the bite. Not sure if this works in the clearer water of the west coast of florida but here in the lagoon on the east coast of florida I just don’t do good at all with it. Any and all pointers are appreciated
A long time ago, I heard Lefty Kreh say, I don't know what it is about purple flies because it doesn't look like any color bait I've seen but it catches more fish than any color I have seen.

Oh no, now I'm thinking purple flies for small mouth, trout (fresh H20), peacock bass, the list goes on. This means I got to buy purple foam, marabou, channelle, saddle hackle, deer tail. etc. Guys, I think CA gets a a wad of cash form tackle manufacturers to promote a new color and then we got to go buy a lot of stuff. No. They are terrible. Don't buy them. Fish hate em. - just kidding. I can't find the purple zman ANYWHERE. I live in the Midwest and challenged myself to only use a 5" purple demon diezel minnow all season, no matter where I went. Slayed fish . Bought 10 packs of them. Now ya can't find them anywhere.

The Zman purple demon works great I have caught a lot of spottail bass on that bait no matter if the water is dirty or clear or the time of year

I fish deep South Texas and plum is my color of choice and has been since I first started using lures.

I like to use JuneBug/Purple when the water is stained. Not so much in clear water.
