Man…. I just got into fishing heavily in the last year. When I want basic info I go to salt strong, but when I really want the nitty gritty? Captain C.A. is the guy. Thanks C.A. , Currently binging all your videos 😂
*Lures looks very realistic even prunked my friends with it.Looks very durable **enjoyable.fishing** recommend sunk very good into the water.Cons: Storage package could be bigger.*
I really appreciate all the detailed bait videos-The one thing I’ve learned about fishing is you’re always learning something and pretty much every trip is different.👍🏻
Agree color does matter. When throwing top waters with other anglers in my boat, there is always that one color that is catching more fish then the other.
I'm gonna have to re watch this video and write it down on a index card. I love Roland's UA-cam channel too. One of the first channels I subscribed to. Great stuff! Thanks C.A
I absolutely agree with you Ca. Last year my buddy and I realized you can toss topwaters all day long. We would go out in the morning and stay out until 6p. During June July and August the bite was consistently from noon until about 5pm. Some days a little later. But we caught big trout to 24" reds fish up to 31" and snook up 30" during that that time slot on bone silver colored spook jr's . It was nice because we got to sleep in and still catch some awesome fish Probably the best summer of fishing we both ever had thanks to finding the pattern and topwaters P.s. I love red and white. Works for all Conditions
I concur, @Artificial Slinger, I use topwaters throughout the day in Texas bays, and always have several handy. And in line with CA’s message here, not just walk-the-dog models but also “popwaters” (cup faced poppers/chuggers) and “propwaters” (slush baits/prop baits), given specific conditions. Smaller popper baits (as in another CA video) in mirror calm to very light ripple conditions and big chuggers like a Big ChugBug in heavy noisy chop, and prop baits in light chop to heavy swells on the flats for reds and speckled trout.
Great illustration, Great advice. Color does matter. When I was young my Uncle gave me my first lesson on color and fishing. He said based on the weather and conditions he said; "sunny chrome cloudy gold". And, it we worked.
Eh, 10,000 cast's and they'll get a feel for it. I like night fishing with artificials. It's easy to tell when someone else fishes a lot with a baitcaster. Zero light with a baitcaster throwing a spook 40-50 yards. Love it!
CA, I fish around the Galveston area. Depending on rain fall, tides and area we have all types of water conditions. I am a firm believer that contrast / color makes a difference. Thanks for the great videos.
Great lesson as always. When my buddy and I discovered Mayan Cichlids in our waters, we switched to gold walk the dogs with orange bellies. Our catch went way up throughout the day.
Tan with orange stripe belly she dog in clear water at day break and chartreuse with silver sides kill, also love the solid black body with chartreuse head for night
great, great info. i'm a huge fan of top water and always looking for new tricks of the trade. mostly fish freshwater, do you feel your ideas work both fresh and salt water applications? never thought about the nose colors, or hook colors, but sounds cool. thanks
Seems like you like the She Pup and Top Pup the most, is it because of the size? Do you notice you get more strikes or a better hook up ratio with the smaller ones versus the She Dog and Top Dog Jr? I'm shored based and I usually like to throw the bigger heavier ones from the jetties or the shore.
Can you teach the black tip sharks to leave my top water lures alone ? I dont run them with a wire leader , tell them the shark rod is usually dragging behind the boat ! There costing me to much to replace my lures ..
@@flatsclassyoutube5502 I fish NC. The New River mainly. Brackish water. Tan clear water. Mostly mud bottom. Also. Does water temp affect what you decide to throw. I always hear people don't throw top water when it's cold. We had a few days of 60 plus Temps and then the water dropped back down into the low 50s.
King Kong vs Godzilla don't have nothing on Capt C.A. vs Capt Mike Anderson of Reel Animal Fishing show. PLEASE make this collaboration happen. You might need a bigger boat too lol
Just started the video I'm assuming he's going to explain why colors matter otherwise he's an even bigger clown than the people he claims that they're talking about lmaoooo

Nothing better than a top water explosion 💥

Excellent color breakdown and explanation
Thanks for all your help and advice on how to get after umm

How you only have 21K subscribers is beyond me! Yours is the best channel on flats fishing on UA-cam!
The Woody Woodpecker is still a go to here on the NC coast. 👍
Good one , I agree and I love me some mirrorlures
C.A. you need to do a Kayak video sometime!
Love the oh-so-subtle Pilar product placement lol. Great mixing rum.

Always that one color!

Great Great content! I love that wall!!😏
I have been throwing top water all day and have been hammering the upper slot reds here in Galveston marshes
Just got my first and second Snook on my last fishing trip this weekend on the off white and silver side She Dog. Great fun and excitement.

Great video ! Thanks for sharing 👏👏👏
Love the content lately, can’t get enough! Thank you, Capt!
Thanks 🙏🏼
Excellent information packed video! I rewatch it often. This is invaluable insight..thank you C.A.
Thank you Captain for these awesome informative videos

👍🏼
I can’t wait for fishing season here it is April 15th then I can actually start making videos again and this year we got a new boat!!
Very helpful fishing deference with colors do water temperature have any affect on this?
Tan with orange stripe belly she dog in clear water at day break and chartreuse with silver sides kill, also love the solid black body with chartreuse head for night
This is great information, thanks Capt! Curious if you ever use a feathered treble hook on any of your plugs.
can you make a video of lures at 10 FT+ depth.
Thanks! Now I got to go tie some multi color deer hair poppers.
thank you. color does matter.💪
How did you get a propeller on the back of the lure? Unscrew the rear hook hanger, add it, screw back then add some super glue?
Yes I unscrew rear hook attachment then add prop... take one drop of gel glue on hook attachment and screw back in lure body
mirror mullet in glow or black with orange belly are money.
great, great info. i'm a huge fan of top water and always looking for new tricks of the trade. mostly fish freshwater, do you feel your ideas work both fresh and salt water applications? never thought about the nose colors, or hook colors, but sounds cool. thanks
I want that hat over your right shoulder!! I can’t find it on your website.
Love this guy HE US THE BEST -!!!!!!!!!!!
what areas do you fish in? or i guess a better question would be would this apply the same or different in nc inshore/offshore waters
Happy Easter buddy from Cayman brac 👍
A good friend from the past... Happy Easter, Rory!
Do you like using a loop knot over a split ring on topwaters? Or do you like a snug knot no split ring?
Will- definitely the loop knot!
Thanks
Happy Easter Capt!

Depends on depth for me and since I’m fishing skinny the majority of the time... I toss the Top Pup
Thanks

Good stuff brother.
Hey captain how far are you from CORPUS CHRISTI?
A long way....... Florida
What about the pitch of the rattles?
I want that hat, where did you get it?
Sodiumusa.com
Thanks Capt. CA
Do you apply the same color schemes to your mr17 and 27s
Depends on the situation and mainly the quality of water you’re fishing
Where do you primarily fish Johnnie?

You should Collab with salt strong or someone with a lot of subs. You are smart and entertaining rather than boring and should have more subs.
Color catches fisherman, sound and cadence catches fish.
You sincerely like the sound of your own voice. All the “information” you suggested could have been covered in 90 seconds not 15 minutes.
