I literally couldn’t count the times I’ve listened to this song. Got to be one of the best instrumental and vocal (hell ...whole band) performances of all time. Could weep when I hear the same Clapton, Beck, Page trio being trotted out as the greatest guitarists of their generation. They are all brilliant of course .... but Blackmore is completely their equal. No-one had the chops/skill to play THAT SOLO at that time with that precision/abandon and tone. It has to be in the top five guitar performances of all time. I still hear people people talk about Purple as if Smoke on the water was their peak. It wasn’t even the best song on that album. Their 2017 album Infinite went straight to number one in Germany and Austria. They still have much of the magic, even without Ritchie. ( Steve Morse replaced him in the mid 90’s.)

The hell screaming at the end is a reaction to that.

Have you done Highway Star? My favorite Deep Purple
I actually haven't I'll check it out! Wrote that down😁
@@InsaneBlondie Recommend you listen to the live version from the live album Made in Japan, it will knock your socks off!! And this one (Child in Time) from same album. Deep Purple are the one of the very few bands that are absolutely brilliant live and sound better than the studio versions.
@@blowingfree6928 "Highway Star" from Made in Japan I'm with you there. But if You and I don't recommend to Sweet Blondie "Strange Kinda Woman" from the same Album, you and I may be held Accountable when we get to Rock and Roll Heaven!
@@radar0412 Ha Ha You are absolutely right, unbelievably good, I love it. It was remiss of me and I reckon you saved me from some terrible fate in rock heaven, so cheers for that!!
Insane Blonde - We both fervently recommend Strange Kind of Woman from the Made in Japan album. Do listen!
@@blowingfree6928 And get this. There is No reaction video to Deep Purple "Strange kinda Woman" from the Made in Japan Album. Insane Blondie would be the first. I'm pretty sure you and I would receive some kinda metal from the Rock and Roll God's for giving Insane Blondie a proper introduction song to Deep Purple. 😊 Gotta be from Made in Japan Album, the studio version is ok, but live friggin Smokes!
there is a moment for every music lover, the first time music like this gets played around them, they realize the world is not such a shitty place if sounds like these can be made by people for us to enjoy.
i wish that i was in your position- to discover all of those great rock songs from the seventies
Make sure to check out the live version.
Smoke on the water is a classic deep purple song , one of the first songs i was taught (guitar lesson )by my music teacher, i believe that he was an ageing hippy, lol, , ,
Fabulous responce must listen to their other songs ..there still performing today all in their 70s .. this lp was done in the late 60s ...
You ready for the banshee wail of one of the best vocalist I have had the honor to see live.
Try 'When A Blind Man Cries', 'Space Truckin' , or 'Burn'
Let's go Space Truckin'!
Jon Lord of the keyboard is my fave member of Purple
I loved her eyes when mister Gillan starts the big scream. So many tracks I'd love to play to her. What a lovely lass.
Thank you!!!
@@InsaneBlondie You're as entertaining as the music, but in another way. :)
actually Hush is their first big hit also Machine Head is their strongest album right after this album with songs like "Highway Star", "Smoke on the water", "Space Truckin'" and "Lazy"
My all-time favorite band!!! Some great Deep Purple songs are Burn, Highway Star, Speed King, Stormbringer... damn... they just have too many good songs to list!! 🤘💜
React to Lazy - Deep Purple
Especially the Made In Japan version.

Hearing him hit those searing notes makes MY throat hurt...
love the tune!!
Whoops! I just realized you look like the 'Childlike Empress' from the 'NeverEnding Story' Film from 1984 :)
Fabulous. I couldn't be anymore congratulory
Live version is a must
Ritchie Blackmore, one of the greatest lead guitarists ever, check out their live videos
As a music fan you made us all very happy in 2019... And I promise I will watch your channel for every clip in 2020 as well, even if you are now an ex-insane blonde! You're still gourgeous and a pleasure to watch...
That's sweet hon...
To give you some idea of what this song is about, search Child in Time Vietnam War in UA-cam. Watch the compilation made by Marc Andre Ranger. By 1970, at the time this song was made, 40,000 Americans and millions of Vientnamese had alrrady died in the war. It had been on the news in graphic detail for years. The hell screaming at the end is a reaction to that.
... The first time I heard this song I stay speechless for a solid one hour ...
Grandi deep purple grande voce gilan👑💎✌✌✌✌✌👍👍👍👍
Rock royalty.
A few Tunes for you Motorhead-Orgasmatron, Funkadelic-Maggot brain , Marillion-Grendel,Mountain-Nantucket sleigh ride ,AC/DC Ride on (Bon Scott vocal) and Black Sabbath Planet caravan

Great song from 1970 🔥🤘
Now how about some
Tommy Bolin - Post Toastee
Love your comments, as always. Yeah the instrumental parts in the classic rock in general songs could get a bet of a drag. They were to long. With some exception's. But if you´d liked Purple. Listen to there world famous live album. Made in japan. And once again, love your comments even though i don´t understand what your saying. But god bless anyway.
