Rachel, I have to say, you’re a damn inspiration, and you look like exactly the kind of badass mama I aspire to be one day. Your tubs look fantastic, don’t get yourself down!
So good to see you out & about Rachel :-) Hang on in there Fish Pimp! We ain't going anywhere. Just take the best care you can of yourself. Always up for more gardening vids.
Thanks for the update, I'll have to go back and watch your prior seasons of summer tubbing. I just started my first guppy tub if you want to see how a beginner is doing :) Love your videos!
You take care. No need to apologize for any changes/camera use due to your knee surgery. I love seeing what you are doing. If anything, I think it makes it more interesting to also go through your recovery with you.
Those vats are awesome! That algae happens when to many organics break down.Black worms can help combat that and a good food source for fish. Yay for summer tubbin!
You're subs are more worried about you taking care of you right now, take it easy as long as you need to, rather have you back than have you broken! Great video as usual : )
Looks great Rach, can't believe that here in Ireland I was able to move fish out before you! Trying white clouds and guppies this year, keep your fingers crossed for me. Keep it up and keep getting better.
I am SO excited for your recovery for what it means to you and for us (selfishly!!!) :) Can't WAIT to see all the great fry! Yay habrosus!! Yay Rosies! I need me some more of them Rosies! For when I FINALLY get my 29 (!!!!) gallon set up, thanks to someone on Reddit! (thanks for turning me on to that)... [still in the back of the suv waitin' for some help to bring it in the house with my bad back!]. Hope you had a great time in Canada!
I Love what your doing. I got inspired many times by your videos. Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge - keep up the awesome work! Cheers from Switzerland
OMG, Rachel! You make me want to get a friggin greenhouse and try my hand at summer tubbing! However, my yard is not big enough! =( Love the lily pads! The plants are soooooo gorgeous, it's crazy! You make this look so easy! Go on wit yo bad self!!!! You my Nano Rock Star!!
Great video ! I have the exact same kind of slimy algea on the plants in my old greenhouse tubs, but the Endlers love it! I hope you will recover quickly!
I get that long brown hair algae in my ponds at the start of every summer. More floaters and more shade is what solves it for me. Which usually means waiting for the lilies to fill out lol.
Greenhouse looks great! Such a nice setup. Makes me want to build one. That algae though I have plenty enough of my own. I've developed, nurtured even, an intense hatred for it!
Your channel is always so inspiring. Your energy and enthusiasm is infectious. Any ideas for plants or fish that would fit in a 2.5 gallon? I know it's hideously small, but so is my room, and I wonder if there are any super tiny plants I could keep in there? I love plants so much that I don't even need fish, really. Maybe a snail or a shramp? I'd be just as grateful for ideas from other viewers, especially if they know which tank I'm talking about and have had some fun with one. I'm getting a small filter & pump for it.
bohn only's For me, a 2.5 just doesn't provide enough swimming room for fish but, you could definitely have a trio of cherry shrimp, maybe more if you have a good amount of spindly hardscape to give them room to move around and forage. If you look through Rachel's old vids you'll find some info on planting smaller tanks.
Rachel...could you recommend some “big” fish I can put in my 120g tank? I have tiger barbs and neons in there. It needs a big fish or two as a centrepiece. Anything you can suggest? (I though of Bala sharks or Denison barbs, but they need to be in schools).
Damn, had to see the beginning twice. Caught a glimpse of what I guess is some of your husbands artwork? That hen is awesome, got me totally distracted :D
Love your vids! Love your green house!! Love your ponds!!!! Love your everything!! To bad i live in sweden would love to meet you! White cloud is my absolute favorit fish, i do bild then a pond for them outside , i like them to breed ... but no luck so far .. i dont know what im doing wrong :/ Heard that you had some cool cars , love to see them! Hope your knee is getting better ! Hugs
Awesome, can't wait to see the outcome this year. I know that you're recovering but have you seen that the Wetspot got in Micronemacheilus cruciatus? It's possible that we are gonna get more Vietnamese species because they also got Annamia normani and Macropodus spechti. Also what are some other plants that grow like parrot's feather because its illegal in my state.
I really miss your rainbow hair....I saw a video of yours from a while back and thought it was current...your hair was beautifully spiked and rainbowed...I was so releaved to see it back to what I viewed normal for you and heart broken to realize it was just a old video.... Please bring back its unique beauty!
Rachel, Would a grow out tub(s) for fry make any sense for you? Will the breeding adults breed about every 30 days regardless of how many fry are in the tubs or might they breed more readily if fry were removed and put into a grow out tub?
Hey Rachel, do you think that Emperor Tetras would be a good candidate for ponds? I have about 20 of them I could put in a 2500g or so pond that would be sharing with a few koi and goldfish too. Keep in mind that I’m in Texas! Thanks
I have to get my left knee replaced very soon. I heard it's very hard to recover from it. What can you tell me about the recovery?? I sure hope your be standing on your two feet without pain soon!!
I use to raise some fry in an aquarium outdoors but the last time I tried I lost them all during a storm. I suppose the heavy rain killed them... but not sure how that would work?
jonstfrancis, if it rapidly altered your water chemistry, like pH and gH/kh, that can shock and kill fish very quickly, more or less depending on species. That would be my best guess, along with the possibility of rapid temperature change in the water (depending on the type of storm.)
jonstfrancis, well, you gotta figure, the average pH of rainwater is 5.0-5.6, and can be as low as 4 in polluted areas. So that kind of acidity could be a dealbreaker for certain fish. Certainly enough to induce shock at least, if enough got into the tubs rapidly.
jonstfrancis, wow. I can't imagine tap water that acidic! That's insane. I could not honestly say for sure then, usually it's that pH, but I suppose it could have just been temperature and turmoil in the water. I hope Rachel might have a clearer answer, since you already were using rainwater. I feel lucky my tap is as balanced as it is, now!
Get well soon Rachel. We do appreciate you.
From my perspective back yard and the fish room go hand in hand together...lovely in fact. Thanks.
The best of both worlds ... fish and plants. Also love your outdoor spaces. What a great set-up you have. Hope your knee is better soon.
Rachel, I have to say, you’re a damn inspiration, and you look like exactly the kind of badass mama I aspire to be one day. Your tubs look fantastic, don’t get yourself down!
Thanks lea!
Same!!
I can't believe how in shape you look! It's been amazing watching you over the past couple years
Love your gardens and tub ponds, hope your knee heals fast.
So good to see you out & about Rachel :-) Hang on in there Fish Pimp! We ain't going anywhere. Just take the best care you can of yourself. Always up for more gardening vids.
Can't get over how great your greenhouse looks!
Love that you’re getting around! I love the white clouds & danios 👍🏼👍🏼
Looking great! Thanks for showing all the hard work.

Long fin white clouds are one of my faves. ❤️ You have a beautiful property!!
You're subs are more worried about you taking care of you right now, take it easy as long as you need to, rather have you back than have you broken! Great video as usual : )
Everything looks great, and your looking better and definitely antsy to get back at things as well. Thank You.
I am so tired of waiting to be better!!!
Rachel O'leary No waiting allowed, it's a mindset. Took me awhile to get used to things and then before you know it, your doing it. 😊
Looks great Rach, can't believe that here in Ireland I was able to move fish out before you! Trying white clouds and guppies this year, keep your fingers crossed for me. Keep it up and keep getting better.
Love the summer time bin videos!!

Great greenhouse.
The algae is mostly Spirogyra, mixed with some Cladophora. Looks like they did a great job of removing nutrients from the water.
Great video ! I have the exact same kind of slimy algea on the plants in my old greenhouse tubs, but the Endlers love it!
I hope you will recover quickly!
Cute succulents!
Love the Rosy Loaches! Everything looks great!
Always an inspiration! I just brought home 8 White Clouds today...and I'm already wondering about tubbing 😄

Rachael is such a natural trecher. You can tell she lover it. She has helped me do much 💀💤💢🙂🙂 😎
Awesome minnows
Excited to see how this all turns out! What kind of success have you had breeding corys outside in the past?
Wow that sux re the longer recovery , just try to be calm and quiet . Hope you continue to get better.thanks for all you do
Everything is looking great!
Thanks for the update. How was your trip to Hogtown?

Have you tried the 24 kt. gold white clouds? I am trying them out for my first tubbing project.
Hope you are doing good ..Keep it up....

Hi Rachel, I was wondering have you ever tried Plecos in a tub, maybe with a power head and lots of plants to suck up the nitrates?
I live in Florida, would it be to hot here to put white clouds in my backyard tub? What's the highest temp they can handle?
I love you're videos
Could you shade the inside tubs to slow down the algae?
Tubs are looking good!
Maybe you should get a helmet cam so both your hands can be free.
Looks awesome! Do you ever change water in the greenhouse/in the tubs or just top off?
Generally I just top off
Rachel,
Would a grow out tub(s) for fry make any sense for you? Will the breeding adults breed about every 30 days regardless of how many fry are in the tubs or might they breed more readily if fry were removed and put into a grow out tub?
You film and upload same day? Damn girl, get it!
Yea. Almost always
Fascinating! If you don't mind me asking, what brand are those shallow long tubs in the greenhouse?
laguna aquaculture tubs
Thank you, ma'am!
What kind of plant is the one floating that looks like fern?
Hey Rachel, do you think that Emperor Tetras would be a good candidate for ponds? I have about 20 of them I could put in a 2500g or so pond that would be sharing with a few koi and goldfish too. Keep in mind that I’m in Texas! Thanks
Absolutely
Did you put glowlight danios out again this year? They were so wonderfully colored up at the end of last season.
I only had a small handful of immature guys to throw out so we will see
Thoughts on trying Sparkling Gourami out in a summer tub?
My guppies turned black in the tubs. I'll see what they look like in the fall when I bring them back in.
Do you heat your tubs?
What is the name of the plant that you was running your fingers up it’s leaves at 8:48 of the vid?Is it some kind of lily or dwarf cattail?
Louisiana iris
Thanks
Will purple mystery snails only lay purple mystery snail eggs or will they be mixed colors?
Mixed
I have to get my left knee replaced very soon. I heard it's very hard to recover from it. What can you tell me about the recovery?? I sure hope your be standing on your two feet without pain soon!!
Deborah Libby I had my right knee replaced 3 years ago. Was using came by 5th day - do the exercises!!!! Good within few weeks. 😊
Where did you get that big tub
It's a Rubbermaid sold at tractor supply. I got mine off craigslist
Why are you not getting an automated top off/water changer? It's a pretty simple set up really
Hello mrs rachel i was wondering what king of water do you use for your fly eating plant?
Rain water
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Man, my water hyacinth looks like crap compared to the beautiful ones in Rachels ponds. XD
Racheal please take care of yourself first. Your content is still great. No worries.
Could be, if I do it again I'll protect from the rain.
jonstfrancis, well, you gotta figure, the average pH of rainwater is 5.0-5.6, and can be as low as 4 in polluted areas. So that kind of acidity could be a dealbreaker for certain fish. Certainly enough to induce shock at least, if enough got into the tubs rapidly.
Well, my tap water is more acidic than rainwater. I use rainwater in my aquarium. But possibly a temp change and too much agitation killed the fry.
jonstfrancis, wow. I can't imagine tap water that acidic! That's insane. I could not honestly say for sure then, usually it's that pH, but I suppose it could have just been temperature and turmoil in the water. Wooooo
