I speak as a father of three and grandfather of two. If my grandson ever did something as heinous as this, I could not, in good conscience, ask for leniency. As heartbreaking as it would be, I would want him to face the consequences of what he had done.

Because you are mature enough to understand the world being safer for us all is healthier than him being lose to do whatever he wants. If this is him at this age why wait to see what he can do at 30? It isn't safe for the world and she isn't mature enough to understand that and this is why they raised him. Denial and ignoring what a child needs to be healthy, praying won't do that but learning how self-esteem works will. That is also probably why your grandchildren won't do this too tho. These patterns of actions have consequences and its time we evolve so I am glad he is locked up.

I can’t believe she’s asking for leniency. That’s part of the problem with this family- I have no doubt they’ve been making excuses for Aiden for years. Mom immediately tried to cover up the evidence from the murder, and now here’s grandma coming to his defense. It is sickening. Did Aiden show any leniency toward Tristyn?

Kids should never be locked up forever. It’s actually unconstitutional to do that btw. Lots of teen killers actually get out by the time they’re full grown adults because rehabilitation is possible.

Hes not even a good kid today either. I understand he comes from a nice home, a nice neighborhood, a mother and father, he somehow managed to get a girlfriend and have friends and he STILL did this. There is no excuse. In the place hes being held, he has gotten into many fights, he is known to other kids there as a bully, he steals from them, manipulates them, beats them. He has been peppered sprayed by the officers there due to his relentless criminal behavior. He only cries for himself.
I don't believe in a draconian justice system, I believe in rehabilitation but this kid has no desire to be rehabilitated, to be a good person, to make up for his actions, to feel remorse and empathy. You know his character because of what he did but even more because of his actions after what he did.
I do feel sorry for his family, except his mom even though in a way I can see why she washed the pants, losing a child is terrible and parents want to protect and think the best of their child but that doesn't make it right. She knew what he did. Her actions tell me that they let him get away with things he does, they don't want to hold him responsible, they want to be selfish and put themselves over the victim and her family and that is wrong, its cowardly, its reprehensible.
Its a shame that as a result of his actions, so many lives have been shattered including his and the people that love him but he could have chosen differently and he didn't. He was a kid with his life in front of him and now hes nothing and there's nobody to blame but himself. He deserves what hes getting and so much more.

Even Tristyn’s family had kind words to say about this woman. Have some empathy. He absolutely deserves to be locked away for life, but we shouldn’t be condemning his grandmother’s grief and love for her grandchild. I think a lot of people would be in denial to see a loved one do something so horrible. That’s going to take a long time to process and come to terms with.

I agree with your comment. I actually started crying listening to his grandmother’s pain and grief. In my opinion, the grandmother’s emotions and words seemed very genuine. I think she feels horrible for what her grandson did and all the pain he has caused..
At the end of the day though, that is still her grandson who she loves very much and was very close to. She cannot turn the love she has for him on and off with a switch. It doesn’t work like that. I really hope people can try and show her some compassion and not be so hateful and mean. We have to remember that there’s only 1 person and 1 person alone who is responsible for taking the life of such a sweet, young, and beautiful soul and that is Aiden Fucci. I am glad he got life in prison and will hopefully never see the outside of a prison for the remainder of his time here on earth.
I pray for Tristyn Bailey’s family, that they are able to close this chapter and really start the healing process. I know that they will never be the same and they will never truly be able to find peace and closure, but I pray that they are able to find some sort of happiness again. I hope they lean on one another as a family and that this tragedy brings them even closer together as a family. I cannot begin to imagine what they are going through and I pray to God I never will. ❤

This isn’t helping Aiden’s case, IMO. Her enormous, entitled blind spot speaks to the entitlement in the family, and would strengthen my resolve as a judge that society needs protection from Aiden for the rest of his natural life. Also, her calling her daughter, a criminal complicit in this murder, a good person, is gobsmacking, and since I think it likely she knows her daughter washed blood out of his jeans, and tried to get him to say on camera in the police interrogation room that he was wearing khakis that night, not jeans, is a lie.
