The RTX 2050 will be the new GTX 1650 for entry level gaming laptops. I just don’t expect it to be around for as long as the 1650 was. Which is still being used in 2023 released laptops.
2050 runs cool and is close to the 3050. The only thing that will change is GPU tech is advancing even faster so nothing will stay around as long as the 1650s have
The Victus is OK for a beginner laptop, but it does have limited upgradability though. From what I found, most configurations that were "cheaper" only had the RTX 3050 or GTX 1650 or 1660 which is OK for beginners, but once they get more into gaming, they may be disappointed. Not that you can upgrade your laptop's video card anyway, but sometimes it may pay to spend a bit more (and by that I mean another $200 or $300) to get something with an RTX 3060, 3070 or an RTX 4050+ as those will be more future proof at least by a few years. So it's fine as a beginner gaming laptop, but you may outgrow it within a year or two. I learned that a long time ago with various things (cameras, laptops, etc). That being said, the RTX 2050 is a waterdowned 2060 which is an older GPU. If you guys know Dawid Does Tech Stuff, he reviewed a laptop similar to this one (or perhaps the same model with a slightly different configuration) and it did OK, but it also had points where it struggled in modern games, even with DLSS.

When that ended this went on sale for 459 and I picked it up immediately. I upgraded to 32gb of Corsair ddr5 and it is a great deal. Probably wouldn’t buy at 800 but for 459 it’s a steal
Best buy also a model of this that has an i5 13420h and an rtx 3050 (6gb) for around $100 more than this, seems like a better buy if you have the money tbh due to it having much newer components and 6gb of vram instead of 4gb. only downside is that one is ddr4 as standard instead of ddr5
@@HermannTheGreat If you look at User Benchmark, you are indeed correct that a regular rtx 3050 laptop gpu is only about 10% better, but because that model has a 6gb rtx 3050, it gives it much more headroom for higher fidelity games that demand more vram. Unfortunately there are no tests on User Benchmark about the 6gb variant.
I've recently purchased that exact same laptop. Just that in my case, the charger is 200W, and I got the one from BestBuy, but mine came with an i5-13450H, if I'm not mistaken, along with a 6GB 3050 and 8GB of RAM. It has been a pretty good experience. The only issue is with the RAM, which can be upgraded, I think, up to 32 or 64, and the battery life is pretty short. If managed well, you can get up to 4 or 5 hours, but I usually don't get more than 2. Also important to mention, in my case, I don't think it's the best, but it's a DDR4 RAM at 3200, and it cost me $600, well actually $599, but yeah, and I got it with a $300 discount, originally priced at $899, but it's frequently on sale. I think it's one of the best new things you can get for that price, although I would surely upgrade the RAM to 16 if you want to do heavy gaming (I don't; I do some casual gaming, video editing, and web browsing, and it is just fine).
I want to get a laptop for my dad, who has a lot of free time three times a week, to play Diablo 4 with me. We played 2 and 3 to death, but his computer died on him. What kind of performance do you figure he'd get with this? Would you recommend it? If not, what laptop would you recommend?
If a part in a motherboard blows up but the laptop itself still turns on Is it safe to keep using?? Cause it's a little rectangle/cylinder looking part and I've been trying to get a replacement and the model is legion 5 gaming laptop with gtx 1650ti something around that with ryzen 5
With Ryzen CPUs, you need to immediately install dual channel RAM. Immediate 20% to 50% uplift in FPS. It is criminal to run without dual channel in any Ryzen config. Period.
Can I use this like a regular laptop? I’m thinking of playing on the side but mostly for studying and browsing. I heard battery life are bad in gaming laptops.
This has an “eco” mode which from what I can tell lowers the screen refresh rate and lowers power consumption when web browsing, typing on excel/word, that kind of stuff. I don’t know how much more battery life it will give though.
I went with the Victus I5 13th Gen RTX 3050 6gb and upgraded the Ram to 16 gb for $550 Im pretty happy with the price to performance. Especially considering my last laptop was 9 years old with an outdated cpu no dedicated gpu and 4gb of ram. HP is really out here helping people roll on a budget.
The locker system is very popular in Europe and it's been implemented by major retailers for about 3 years now, I'm surprised it's not that common in the US.
might sound a bit silly, but with this having usb 4, would it work with external gpu docks? idk if the investment is worth it, but like you say the "rtx" 2050 is a bottlekneck, the cpu seems really solid tbf, so if this had a external 3060 for example it might be a better match, that and 8gb more ram too
i bought it it runs around 300-400 on fortnite and runs really well for other games but i would upgrade the storage and maybe depending on your using it for
Just for the thank of god use normal taa (with 100% 3d res) in fortnite, it just drops a lot of fps by using epic tsr and also maybe just take the textures and all the other settings down and just put the render distance to epic

Get a macbook...
Those ram sticks are pretty cheap when they're on sale like 30-40$

I want to get a laptop for my dad, who has a lot of free time three times a week, to play Diablo 4 with me. We played 2 and 3 to death, but his computer died on him. What kind of performance do you figure he'd get with this? Would you recommend it? If not, what laptop would you recommend?
4:43 imagine having victus 16 3050 the 60 hz version. That was painful
got one with rtx 3050
can run all new games with ease including ps5 titles
Which ram would you suggest to get it to 16g?
I'd love to see the MSI 144hz 15.6 laptop with a 3050 for $479.99 from Walmart on sale now
I just bought one yesterday. They were sold out online and all but one store in a 50 mile radius
@RTBOY954x buy me one pls
What is the make and model of this laptop. I’m gunna ask for it for Christmas 😅
i bought a HP Victus with an i7 11th gen and 3060 from someone off facebook marketplace for $400 dollars greatest deal ive ever gotten
Name of background music at 9:40?
nvm I found it, its Bryant Bark by Dylan Sitts if anyone's wondering. UA-cam should really require uploaders to cite the music in the description.
Is that st matthew best buy?
If a part in a motherboard blows up but the laptop itself still turns on Is it safe to keep using?? Cause it's a little rectangle/cylinder looking part and I've been trying to get a replacement and the model is legion 5 gaming laptop with gtx 1650ti something around that with ryzen 5
Best Buy has another HP Victus for $550 that has the RTX 3050 and I5 13th gen processor. Other specs are same. Is it worth $100 more ?
Yes! That extra vram is huge. If a 3060 is out of reach, it’s the better option if you’re uncomfortable buying used.
Dang I guess here in fl we are not getting the discount we have it for 799
With Ryzen CPUs, you need to immediately install dual channel RAM. Immediate 20% to 50% uplift in FPS. It is criminal to run without dual channel in any Ryzen config. Period.
Can you guys review the lenovo gaming 3
Can I use this like a regular laptop? I’m thinking of playing on the side but mostly for studying and browsing. I heard battery life are bad in gaming laptops.
This has an “eco” mode which from what I can tell lowers the screen refresh rate and lowers power consumption when web browsing, typing on excel/word, that kind of stuff. I don’t know how much more battery life it will give though.
Where did Jackson get that hoodie?? I can't find it online 😭😭😭
I got the Asus Laptop that was on sale at Best Buy. Had Ryzen cpu and 7600s gpu. Its nice.
I drive a Laramie too! Great truck!
Bought this in Canada today the 1 TB 16 gb version ...........the other option Acer nitro v15 was pretty flimsy bad display
I went with the Victus I5 13th Gen RTX 3050 6gb and upgraded the Ram to 16 gb for $550
Im pretty happy with the price to performance. Especially considering my last laptop was 9 years old with an outdated cpu no dedicated gpu and 4gb of ram.
HP is really out here helping people roll on a budget.
I got the exact same deal and upgraded the ram. Such an awesome system for $550.
Are parcel lockers not a common thing in north America ?
What is this laptop called?
Just picked up a Asus zephyrus g15 with a ryzen 9 6900 and a rtx 3060 with 16 gb ddr5 for $500 on the Facebook marketplace place it's awesome
Do you think this could run the new mw3?
It's a Zen 3. The 3 in 7535HS tells you so.
The locker system is very popular in Europe and it's been implemented by major retailers for about 3 years now, I'm surprised it's not that common in the US.

Pretty sure I mentioned this in a comment on one of your videos a few days ago....
might sound a bit silly, but with this having usb 4, would it work with external gpu docks? idk if the investment is worth it, but like you say the "rtx" 2050 is a bottlekneck, the cpu seems really solid tbf, so if this had a external 3060 for example it might be a better match, that and 8gb more ram too
it would for sure work i dont see a reason why not. and its not silly this has been a solution for laptops for a while

i wonder how good the asus tuf a16 with the 7600s is?
Super awesome review 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I JUST GOT THIS LITERALLy 2 DAYS AGO AND YALL JUST POSTED NOW WWWWWWWWWWW
i bought it it runs around 300-400 on fortnite and runs really well for other games but i would upgrade the storage and maybe depending on your using it for
on low settings and performance mode btw
Could yall check out the acer nitro V 15 (ANV15-51)? it seems like a nitro 16 but in an aspire 5 body
Guys do you know if the inside has got room for 2.5" SSD?
Man I wish I had a Micro Center near me
Just for the thank of god use normal taa (with 100% 3d res) in fortnite, it just drops a lot of fps by using epic tsr and also maybe just take the textures and all the other settings down and just put the render distance to epic
