Guillamen vs Agron that scene gets me every time I read it in betrayer. Agron is basically pooring his heart out in that speech and I love it. 3. Jagatai khan vs mortarion on terra. I agree with everything you said but I’ll add that jagatai being the one loyalist who didn’t immediately jump to protect the emperor at the start now being willing to die for him says a lot about how far the traitors have fallen 2. Sanguinus vs agron I listen to the audio book of this on a somewhat regular basis I simply can’t get enough of how epic it is. 1. Rogal Dorn vs Fulgrim. For 2 reasons 1 I don’t like Fulgrim and anyone who kicks his ass automatically goes up in my estimation and 2 this more so then the alpharius fight shows dorn have excepted the facts fulgrim is a traitor there’s no reasoning with him no bringing him back to the fold the only way this ends is if the traitors are killed . I love that and the alpharius fight does it too but this is better at it due to the fact dorn didn’t like alpharius anyway but he didn’t have that with fulgrim as far as I know.
i got to disagree, it was the second most brutal but really nothing tops the most recent primarch fight, sanguinius and horus. However that fight is very new, as an old fight i agree dorn vs alpharius was the most brutal. Especially how cold blooded from dorn it was. Not saying a word, all business, i bet dorn either already mourned his brother internally before the fight and just agreed with himself that his bro was already dead. Or that he never considered alpharius his brother the moment he turned traitor. I bet on the latter. The ultimate stoic. Oh and i could imagine blood angel fans literally in tears while listening/reading sanguinius' death and how bad he got brutalized. That had to have been traumatic. I tell you what also. If the lion vs russ fight had been written out the way these had been and given the same attention that it so badly deseved. that would absolutely be my number one. I really hope one of the scouring books actually gives that fight a few chapters, like in a flashback or what not before the lion stabs russ.
Without watching the Video, these are my top 5: 5) Mortarion vs Jagatai round 1 on Prospero. A rare even contest between two very different fighters. 4) The Lion vs Russ. An interesting honour-duel turned brawl 3) Magnus vs Russ on Prospero. The original cataclysmic Primarch vs Primarch fight (not a fan of Ferrus vs Fulgrim) 2) The Lion vs Konrad final round on Macragge. Hunting each other. 1) Horus vs Sanguinius. The greatest ending to any Fight in 40k! Utterly brutal and amazing from start to finish.
Writing this before listening. Russ gas gif to be in here twice, vs Angron and vs the lion. Both epic for different reason. Alpharius/omegon vs dorn too
I haven’t read the siege yet but from the lore videos I’ve watched the death of sanguinius was pointless and narratively pointless at that. It seems to be an example of “ let’s subvert the readers expectations”
Primarch v. Primarch. my first thought was how many times Russ will be on the list!? My second fav. loyal primarch has a habit of fighting his brothers😆
With respect, I don't know how anyone gets excited for these any more. In the earlier days of the Heresy they were exciting because they could go either way. Russ beat Magnus on Prospero, but Ferrus lost to Fulgrim on Istvaan, etc. But now? I think we're on, what... a 8-0 Loyalist winning streak, if you include both 40k and 30k, discounting Horus vs Sanguinius because Horus is basically Chaos' "Emperor" and was a half-step away from true godhood at that point. (30k: Sanguinius vs. Angron, Vulkan vs. Magnus (twice), Jaghatai vs. Mortarion, Fulgrim vs. Dorn - 40k: Lion vs. Angron, Guilliman vs. Mortarion, Guilliman vs. Magnus) They all end the exact same way. The traitor seems to have the upper hand but then the loyalist "destroys him with facts and logic" and then somehow turns it around and wins. It's more predictable than WWE. There's no real danger for the Loyalists any more, because even when they lose, they win (see: Guilliman vs. Mortarion). At this point the only people I think who can really get excited for the next duel are Loyalist fans who want another victory to crow about. There's literally no appeal to them as a Traitor. Speaking as a Thousand Sons fan, I don't even want a Magnus vs. Russ rematch because Magnus is 100% guaranteed to lose.
Fulgrim beats guilliman and ferrus, Mortarion beat guilliman but got his ass saved by the emperor, got a draw and a mutual K.O against the Khan, Magnus beat guilliman, Angron beat guilliman, the Lion had to be saved from Curze twice
What did people expect once the Chaos Primarchs became immortal? Do we really want another End Times?... the 40k storyline should never had returned to this big fights. This doesn't suit a storyline that goes nowhere.
@@FoxHound-ut1hu Yes, you'll notice in my comment I said "In the earlier days of the Heresy they were exciting because they could go either way." All of those happened quite some time ago, and thus still fit the trend. But... wait, when did Magnus beat Guilliman? The only time I remember them fighting (on Luna), Magnus got nerfed by Sisters of Silence and Guilliman shoved him into a Warp portal.
@@erih2934 lmao I see this argument all the time and it's such a fallacy. Loyalist Primarchs don't have to *die* when they lose. There are all sorts of other options. A defeated Loyalist Primarch could be simply wounded and teleported away at the last second, or the Traitor could take them alive to "show them the truth" only for them to later be rescued or escape. Not every duel has to be a fight to the death.

Are you kidding me? I’m sorry, but how can you have the great angel versus Horus as the number one. That was terrible, literally the entire battle was Horus not even giving a 10th of his focus to the flight. It was lopsided and in my opinion, one of the worst written parts of any heresy novel. It had no purpose, carried no weight, nothing happened. It was literally just extra words for extra words sake. He did not damage him, he did not tire him out, and then after that, the flight with the emperor is even more stupid. Just the same as the great angel. It serves no purpose and carries no gravity because it’s all one-sided and almost identical, but for the part where the emperor finally wins at the end. The great angel literally added nothing to the storyline. They should’ve added him, tiring Horus out, hurting him, getting in to the rage to score a lucky blow, anything but what they did. It’s almost like GW is paying you now.
Whoa, slow down little fella. It's his opinion, he said that at the beginning of the video and saying it added nothing to the story is utter nonsense. It showed how powerful horus had become that even sanguinius could not defeat him. How so far detached from the son and brother he was in the cruelty and almost casual manner he killed him and how brave and dedicated sanguinus was since he knew he was going go die in that fight. Also, this is something that has been in the lore since the second edition and it was amazing to see it play out in first person.

Ferrus v Fulgrim my guy
Without watching the Video, these are my top 5:
5) Mortarion vs Jagatai round 1 on Prospero. A rare even contest between two very different fighters.
4) The Lion vs Russ. An interesting honour-duel turned brawl
3) Magnus vs Russ on Prospero. The original cataclysmic Primarch vs Primarch fight (not a fan of Ferrus vs Fulgrim)
2) The Lion vs Konrad final round on Macragge. Hunting each other.
1) Horus vs Sanguinius. The greatest ending to any Fight in 40k! Utterly brutal and amazing from start to finish.
i liked returned Lion Vs Angrom
@@Silverflower351 a masterclass in a smarter fighter beating a stronger one. I like it too.
Imagine that, the space wolf fan favors Russ in the top 5
I know, shocker innit?
Writing this before listening. Russ gas gif to be in here twice, vs Angron and vs the lion. Both epic for different reason.
Alpharius/omegon vs dorn too
I haven’t read the siege yet but from the lore videos I’ve watched the death of sanguinius was pointless and narratively pointless at that. It seems to be an example of “ let’s subvert the readers expectations”
Malal vs Sigmar. The fight so brutal, it ended the II and XI legions!
Lol
Leman russ quite sucks in his "executioner" role tbh...he fucked up quite often.
You're just looking for a fight Rho.
I skipped Warhawk because Mortis totally sucked.
Primarch v. Primarch. my first thought was how many times Russ will be on the list!? My second fav. loyal primarch has a habit of fighting his brothers😆
Why are you always saying the Khan won the second duel against Mortarion ? Both died, so it's a clear draw. 🤷♂️
Not a big fan of Sanguinius, but it was trully sad to read how Horus beat him, like a disobiedient dog
Hawk boy proved his total supremacy to Horus, and Horus proved that he was a bottom tier fighter without chaos juice.
That was not Alpharius who fought Dorn.
It was though 🔥🔥
You sure about that? It’s the alpha legion, nothing is for certain.
@@wanabeguitarguy black library has officially stated alpharius is dead. There’s been nothing since stated otherwise.
Magnus)
They all end the exact same way.
Nah if russ stayed behind with his legion, the emperor wouldnt be on the golden throne, russ is bad. All my homies hate space wolves
🎉🎉🎉🎉
Loin an wolf
Horus gets wrecked by half the primarchs. Lol what a bum
1. Leman Russ vs Horus
2. Leman Russ Vs Lion El' Jonson
3. Leman Russ Vs Angron
4. ..... i dont know im sure Gillaman did something cool ....
o shit how could I forget
4. Leman Russ vs the primarchs of the the 2nd and 11th legion
5. Leman Russ Vs Magnus the Red
Lemun Russ vs Magnus would be the most visually stunning fight period.
For me angraon getting beat the crap out of him by Perturabo
Russ just took the Angels place.
Deflated? I was overjoyed by that ending. I literally cheered out loud and was smiling from ear to ear.
first🤭
Are you kidding me?
Its just his opinion! Calm down mate.
He did say it was his own opinion. Chill out mate.
this.
