Literally just finished this book. I’m reading/listening to Mephiston: Blood of Sanguinius right now. Working my way to Devastation of Baal on Wolf’s recommendation. So far it’s been great!
If my grandfather is any sort of measuring stick, it makes sense for Dante to only come up to his chest. At one point my grandfather was 6'6". He was 5'8" when he was put in his casket. Dante is +1500 years old while Gramps was a mere 102.
Humans shrink with age as their bodies degrade. Space Marines are not like that though. Dante can still kick arse with the best of them, he just feels his age. I'd say he is more in his late 40's, early 50's, physically. His body is not what he used to be, but it still performs. If anything it is PTSD and other mental traumas that are weighing him down. If normal humans are anything to go by being a veteran of endless combat does not make you better and more brave past a certain point, but it tends to make you more cunning and determined to survive in one piece.
@@ChaptermasterPedroKantor-kv5yw Guilliman even mentions that when he met with Dante when the siege was broken. Questioning if anybody involved in the astartes project really considered what it would be like for a space marine to live for 1500 years.

Dante has the worst luck when it comes to running into important people. Every revived primarch, the sanguinor, AND the Silent king like the actual Silent king. Waiting for his meeting with Big E
Could the Sanguinor be the herald that stood in the warp gate on Davin ( Ruin storm) when Sanguinious last saw him, He saw a golden light and wings appear
I truly believe that the sanguinor is the manifestation of hope that is carried throughout the entire BloodAngels chapter that together forms a specter of that will and the hope of all Sanguinus sons, just like how the chaos gods and daemons can manifest through the sheer coalescence of the very essence they are made of, so too can the Blood Angels create this amazing avatar of hope, it’s why it has no voice, it doesn’t need it when the heart speaks they all share the furioso spirit and all doubts are burned out. then get the hell out of their way!
First off; love the video, keep up the awesome work! So, funny story. I've always loved the Sanguinor's model and I got sick of waiting around for them to do a resculpt, so I made my own... 3 weeks ago, lol! I'd throw a picture on here for you but UA-cam won't let me, c'est la vie!
I think there will be a twist and the golden warrior will be valdor. But I'm more surprised they dont make Tons of our favorite characters coming back as saints , and the reverse .
Unit strength is 6 per squad and that seems like a more regular bodyguard detachment lore wise for the Chapter master than 10, especially considering how constantly low their numbers are. It was always stupid when players spammed more Sanguinary Guard on the table than actually exist in lore and it always resulted in them being nerfed points wise eventually; they were overcosted since the beggining of 10th due to spam at the end of 9th. Their new stat sheet make the unit as survivable as a unit of 10 first born ones (slightly more actually) it makes each individual model more reflective of their elite ability in lore. In regards to the aesthetics, they look fine and if you dislike it so much do what player have done for decades and do a conversion. It makes sense that when all but one if them died in the Detestation of Baal that most of the war gear was probably destroyed and that they probably had to have entirely new stuff. To be honest as iconic as they are, i didn't like the old Sanguinary guard jump packs, the wings were not functional and merely aesthetic (unlike the Ventari Custodians jump pack wings) so they are adding weight and surface area to look even flashier than being entirely clad in shiny gold armour. The old Sanguinary guard wings didnt even look very good and the only BA model with winged jetpacks that looked good was the Blood Angel Jump Pack Chaplin.
I’m convinced the sanguinor is dante. the golden warrior defending the emperor is dante and when he dies he becomes the sanguinor. would explain why its always guiding him.
That's a really good theory given time doesn't exist in the warp and primaris are larger than normal marines. I do wonder what path he walked to get there though. Ive personally long wondered what sanguinius himself is up to. We know primarchs can't truely die because they are as much warp as flesh, even horus, konrad and ferrus aren't entirely gone, but that his soul suffered. So what's he doing? Ive sometimes wondered if he split into shards or halves with the sanguinor being one and dante being another. Marines are powerful and age slowly, the blood angels even more so, but at this point dante is an outright anomaly.
I'm more convinced by the new Sanguinor sculpt, which was literally aged (face looks older, has a beard). There's no reason the designer team until they had some insider knowledge, and if there is one thing we know about Dante, it's that he is ooooooold
@@MichaelEntwistle and yet, he appears before Dante during the detestation of baal when the sanguinor shows him and speaks. We also have the emperors words to Konrad that nothing is ever truely gone. I would personally like him to be dead so his attempt to speak with Horus and the suffering of his legion has real value with Dante being the golden warrior, but we have hints he's not. I can ultimately accept that on the grounds he's mutilated.
New Sanguinor is an imposter. Wearing primaris gear with life support systems. Different helmet as well with no resemblance to Sanguinius. Probably the theory that a chosen Sanguinary Guard becomes Sanguinor through some Blood Angels ritual is true. Maybe a piece of Sanguinius' soul is possessing him.
My theory: The Sanguinor is Dante, a future warp touched and Sanguinis blessed Dante that embodies the legion of The Blood. I have a feeling that Dante will die before defending the Emperor, only to be reborn into Sainthood to eternally do battle for the Emperor
I'm not a huge BA fan, less so of their successors... I (really dislike the Flesh Tearers, them and their hypocrisy) but I can't help to just love Dante
I've personally always theorized that when Horus killed the Angel, that because he did it so brutally, the Angel's soul was shattered like the Shards of Magnus and that the Sanguinor was just one of those shards.
Sanguinor “GET THE FUCK UP BLOOD ANGEL WE GOT AN IMPERIUM TO SAVE!”
“A galaxy to burn!”
“ wake the fuck up Dante, we got chaos to burn “

Best line ever when tyranid invade baal. Let us accept the black rage. Today we are all death company.
Got to add the next line after that
“Let the damn walk with the damned”

GW straight murdered SG by removing wings and three instead of five.

I agree. In some far flung future event Dante either dies and his soul becomes it or he just "evolves" into it

I just thought of this. Does the Sanguinary appear just to the Blood Angels? Or do Successor chapters see him as well once in a while?
Hey Wolf Lord Rho, do you plan on plating space marine 2? Do you plan on reviewing it’s lore?
I have a theory that Dante will take the Sanguinors place one day.
You must have been trained by Word Bearers because you are the best at preaching the Emperor’s kindness and goodness to the whole Imperium
Dante - Short King
Is Sanguinius' soul not in the warp? Don't souls in the warp ascend to godhood through prayer?
Leading theory is that his souls is in the walls of the Vengeful Spirit.
It’s nobility, not nobleness
Correct me if im wrong but wasnt Space Wolfs the only legion with the gene flaw that would show age on their faces?

The Sanguinor is Azkellon.
The new Sanguinor model is awful. The Sanguinary Guard are even worse. If I wanted fantasy, I'd plsu AoS
Couldn’t disagree more. What a massive let down the new (I say new but it’s no different from the old one) sanguinor model is.
I hate the wings. Too straight.
The new Sanguinor is so boring
