Super bodacious book!!! There's no way that I'm missing out on this one. Gary Frank is fantastic, I love seeing his older style. Peter David is just too awesome.

Man look at that art and those colors - love it! Never read any of this before, but going by the past two books and what you showed here, this looks like a madly good time. Count me in for sure. I said it b4, but ... DC needs to show Mr. David some love as well. Who wouldn't wanna get their hands on Supergirl and Aquaman!? The former is also virgin territory for omnis (post-crisis). I hope Warner splitting of AT&T again will alleviate the horrors of recent months when it comes to DC's collected edition efforts/department. AT&T was never interested in selling books all that much and certainly not into selling floppies (though I can hardly blame that for that given everything that's going on).
Really happy to hear volume 2 is getting a second print later this year. It was almost impossible to get it in the UK. I had my Forbidden Planet pre-order cancelled because they didn't have enough stock and never even saw it in stock at any other website.

That Hulk vs Juggernaut was one of my earliest comics and first Hulk comic. I hope this sells really well. I’m buying Hulk in Epic Collections. I need Marvel to hurry up and finish Peter David’s run in Epic format.
This is probavly the peak of PAD:s run, The "Marvel Edge" move was the start of editorial meddling that sadly made the quality of his stories go down and eventually forced him off the book. But I'm guessing you'll go into more detail about that in the preview of volume 4! Will I get this book? Hulk yes, I will!
By the way, I don't know if it was a slip of the tongue or not, but Glynis Oliver is a woman. She was married to Len Wein a long time and was known professionally as Glynis Wein during their marriage.
Can’t wait for that volume 2 restock I thought it wouldn’t happen for a year or two. Hopefully the can restock more things more often from now on or even better just print more and keep things in stock for a change 👌🏻🙏🏻
Peter David's run on Hulk is one of my favorite runs of all time.
Peter David’s Hulk volume 1 was effectively what catapulted my omnibus collecting into obsession. Up to that point I had about 30 total omnis, now I’m up to 150.

@@Robd07 Last count was just over 200. Had to cut back due to lack of space. But unfortunately I got into manga, so that’s a massive chunk too.

Of course, that doesn't include trades or normal OHC's.
Really like the colours on the regular cover! Gary Frank’s art is spectacular right out of the gate, great run of stories. Another super overview!

Great overview Omar, thanks for that! I hear you mention the change of the coloring. I remember that well, it was due to the 'miles ahead' computer coloring that Image comics had at the time, there was a lot of bitchin goin on about Marvel's newspaper stock and flat coloring. When Marvel changed it, it didn't do it so well, it was over the top and not at all what Image had. It took a few years and some experience to get it right. I remember (I live in The Netherlands) that import prices went sky high, due to the change to glossy paper ... Glad it's all collected now, now I can sell my floppy's (I believe I do have that holo cover you mentioned)

Crazy that they didn't use Future Imperfect for the cover. If they had to use a Gary Frank cover, at least the wedding cover is more 'iconic' and widely known. Aside from the DM cover of vol 1, the cover choices for these omnis have been weak.

Wow this book looks great. I love Gary Frank and George Perez! Really glad I preordered the DM cover. Definitely looks more my thing after volume 2. I wasn’t too big on the pantheon stuff

I am definitely getting this, though now I’m debating between covers.
I was originally going to go for that Troyjan War cover, because it had a cool spacey background in the previews. But the image shown in this video showed them having gotten rid of that.
Kind of reminds me of the John Byrne cover for the Marvel Universe guide omnibus looking more unique in the previews than when it actually came out, with that nice striking red.
I wonder what makes them change the covers like that, since I honestly think their original looks are better. 🤔
But that could just be my take. 😅
I just noticed the spine on mine is different to the other three. All DM covers. Volume 3 is the standard black, same as the silver age omnibus. 1, 2 and 4 have this grey-ish tone applied on top of the standard black.
I think I prefer the standard cover for this one.
Preordered this months ago with dcbs hopefully it ships soon! Can’t wait for volume 4 and maybe a companion

Just pre ordered vol 1, and ordered vol 2-3 on CGN. Super excited to dig into my first hulk run!

Of course, Gary Frank cut his teeth on the Motormouth title in 1992, so it was awesome to see him bring those characters over for a guest visit.
Loved Gary's art for Marvel the best.

Marvel puts out so many omnibus volumes that it makes me wish I was a Marvel fan.

This was my favorite era of Hulk...guess I'm gonna have to get this and the other 3 volumes. I wonder if they will ever just make a Maestro omnibus?

i also got into silver age spidey and fantastic 4,those books are the best silver age books i have read,not just from marvel but any comic company

I have no way of knowing this, but my guess is Thunderbolts. Don't get suckered in by FOMO though, make sure you're truly interested in the book. :)

Until now, I always assumed Jan Duursema was male, since Jan is a very common Dutch male name here in The Netherlands. Also, Duursema is also an original Dutch (or Frysian) last name here in The Netherlands. Duursema, like Buscema, is also very different pronounced here in The Netherlands than Omar does. I don't know if it's her full name, sometimes Jan is short for Janet or Jeanette. Love her artwork, though..

Tempted to get this and hope to pick up 2 on the penstock and 1 on the reprint, would you fine fellow minties think it would be an ok place to start reading if the first two don’t work out? I have the future imperfect marvel premiere otherwise I’d be new to his Hulk.
You could always read the issues that comprise the first two omnis on Marvel Unlimited.
As far as I know, the first printing is already sold out. Is that right? I preorded ist at Amazon, but didn‘t get it. So I tried other stores which took my order, but couldn‘t deliver in the end. Will there be a second printing? I really hope so.
I think this is the first time I prefer the regular cover over the direct market cover.

Hey, Omar! Sorry I’ve been slacking again. Got screwed over on a IST/ToW order and it’s made me dislike this hobby as of late. Especially since I don’t buy many books already, it’s just discouraging to have an OOS email after a preorder(a little after FOC) and have zero communication about the order for 3 months. So I just have a sour taste in my mouth haha. That being said, while I’m not actively watching your vids currently, I throw them on so you get your watch time as always. Plus the like always comes through! I’ve just been slacking on the comments because I feel bad commenting before actually watching it myself. Anyway, hope all has been well, my man! Take care & God Bless as always.

Should Future Imperfect not be at the tail end of his run, being set in the far future & all?
That’s not when it was written during his run and he went to the future before coming back to the present.
Characters from this story also pop up in future issues of Hulk. Perhaps you are thinking of Hulk: The End/

@@NearMintCondition really?! I never knew it went beyond them flirting at Rick's wedding. I was really sad that Marvel didn't do anything more with The Pantheon after Hulk left the group. I really enjoyed their stories, especially Ulysses.

But I am looking through something modern marvel to read,unfortunatly david hasn't announced the Thor omnibus yet and the complete collections are out of print so I wonder if I should just drop Aaron's run til David hurries up or if I should just jump Cates run now

For Vol 1 & 2 I loved both covers and for Vol 3 I don’t like either cover! Still picking this up to read though.
The covers to omnis are without a doubt the least important thing about them.
