I have really loved this Peter David Hulk series. I have read every omnibus. Now we need a Bill Mantlo Hulk omni.

This brings me back home, as well. My first omnibus was the Incredible Hulk by Peter David, Vol. 1. I bought it back in 2019, just before the world stood still. I also was just getting into comics, too. TV is full of trash and preachy nonsense, and I needed an escape. Now, I work in a comicbook store, and over 100 omnibuses, absolutes as well as deluxe hardcovers and single issues later, I honestly did not know that this hobby would take over so fast and furious... Partly, I have you to thank, Omar!
It's a dream come true to have this run collected. Hope we will get a PAD companion to collect the later PAD stories and maybe a Maestro omni even 🤞 thank you Omar for playing a part in getting one of the best runs in comic history collected 🙌

You got me emotional in this video. I didn't know about Peter David until Omnibros Live talked about his run being the greatest. Once I learned about your announcements, I jumped at the chance of getting the first book. Then with books selling out, I decided to pre-order. I am excited for my order. Thank you Omar, and I hope you continue with your success.

The Incredible Hulk was one of the first comics I started buying monthly as a teen. My first issue was 324 which was shortly before Peter David took over. The last issue I bought was 347 because I thought the whole Mr. Fixit thing was silly at the time. So I’ve never read the vast majority of this run. I have the first 3 volumes and I’ll be ordering the DM cover for this one.
You know what Omar. You convinced me doing this overviews of X-Men the Fall of the Mutants and The Incredible Hulk Omnibus by Peter David volume 4. I think I will get it next week. I love the 90s artwork makes the comics pop and I am an X-MEN fan.
Awaiting my copy ; went with the Deodato standard cover. Will be incredible having this run completed ( well, there is enough for a companion omnibus should Marvel choose to do so ! )

It wouldn't just be Maestro, there's more than enough Hulk left for it to be a volume 5 (or companion). By my count, there's _Hulk_ #77-87, _Hulk: Destruction_ #1-4, _Incredible Hulk: The End_ #1, _Hulk: Broken Worlds_ #1, _Incredible Hulk: Last Call_ #1, _Secret Wars: Future Imperfect_ #1-5, _Maestro_ #1-5, _Maestro: War and Pax_ #1-5, and _Maestro: World War M_ #1-5. That's nearly 40 issues already, and it could also potentially include stuff like _Captain Marvel_ #2-3 and #27-30, and _Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads_ #1-5. I'm probably missing some stuff too.
Happy for the Omnibus collectors. Now hopefully we can get more Peter David Era Hulk Epic Collections.
This time period was at the heart of my collecting comics. I want to see all the big runs of the time collected. Now let's get Gruenwald's Cap and DeFalco/Ryan's FF completed in omni format.
I'm not a fan of Medina's art from the 90s, but the Adam Kubert and Mike Deodato content looks very very good. They should release another volume to finish off PAD's run properly. Fo Sho!

Artwork was what originally got me into comics and kept me interested for a long time. This Hulk run by Adam Kubert, Joe Mad on Uncanny X-Men and Spawn #1 were the first comics that hooked me as a young teen. So needless to say I've been highly anticipating volume 4. This will be an awesome trip down nostalgia lane. Just seeing that Hulk Kazaar issue cover already got me smiling. That issue then got me into Andy Kubert's Kazaar run when it came along, which I loved too.

I like Mastodon, Lamb of God, Rammstein. All kinds of stuff, just not much Death or Black Metal.

Can't wait to get this, went with the Deodato cover but it was a super tough choice, that Kubert cover is outstanding. Love that PAD's Hulk omni was your first announcement, that's really cool.

Totally with you on hoping those Mark Gruenwald Captain America omnis get a release one day in the near future (or present).
Guess I can retire my 90s era Heroes Reborn: The Return TPB now that I'll have it in two omnis.
Just read the second issue of Hulk Grand design and it pretty much almost entirely the PAD run. Looking forward to this.

I never really cared for the hulk until i read Peter David's run. I'm so excited for this! Time to start reading vol 1 again!
My copy is on its way right now! Looking forward to reading this 'final' run from Peter David. I didn't really the Hulk as a character before I started with the Peter David Omnibuses, but I have been converted!

I've got this coming my way tomorrow! I'm going to disagree with you Omar on why PAD left the series. I remember reading an interview where PAD states that editorial wanted him to take Hulk back to his original status quo and PAD refused because the didn't want to write that type of Hulk story. PAD's last issue was a teaser of Hulk stories that he had planned on telling if he had stayed on the book! Awesome overview and I will doing a Hulk readathon as I've waited for all 4 volumes to start!
Love your passion and knowledge when reviewing the end of Peter's run. That time and those books are embedded in my mind. Picking up my copy soon.
Never read any of the issues in this run, but am pleased to have the complete run and agree it will look nice on the shelves.
Yep Defalco thor & ff need some love, grunwald's ca needs some love but to me, George Perez needs some more marvel love, especially his early avengers and ff work.

Why could marvel not kept the same spines for all the omnis. Irrates me seeing the original large print and now the small print dust covers. But definitely solid run for Hulk fans.
Omar, tell David Gabriel that I own all 4 omnis!! It was worth investing in this run.
Had this pre-ordered since day one and cannot wait to get my mitts on it. Now all we need is the current Maestro Trilogy collected,, maybe with a few add ons to beef it up, and I'd be a happy chappy.

This was one of the books/runs I wanted to see collected the most when I got into buying omnibus. Well I took some time off and ended up missing the prints the first time around so I will need to either wait for the reprints or hunt down vol 2+3 now.
Also whats with the spine coloring? All except for vol.3 use this off-black color that just looks off next to my other books. It would be fine if it was all 4 but that is going to drive me nuts

I have a question, please. I have managed to get hold of two Deluxe HC of Hulk by Bruce Jones. Volume 01 has number 34 to 43 + Banner and volume 2 has 44 to 54. Is there a 3rd volume taking it to number 76, which I think is the last written by Bruce Jones?

Nope the rest of Bruce Jones run were only collected in Trades. There were also 2 mini series, a Hulk/Thing and a Hulk/Wolverine written by Bruce Jones that I don’t think have been previously collected. That said the end of his run was a bit weaker compared to the beginning IMHO.
Did they run out of the baby blue end pages? Why not finish up the same as the others? Anyway, they already got me 3 volumes in so I'm getting it lol.

Absolutely. I think it's one of the better and most fun eras of Hulk. Peter David is a great writter and all the artists shine a lot. Plus, where else are you going to see Rick Jones discovering her future wife was in a p*rn movie while celebrating his bachelor party with the Avengers? Or Grey Hulk working as a bodyguard in Las Vegas?
I went with the Devil Hulk MDJ is one of my top artists but that DM is outstanding; dig the flat spine.

My Vol. 1 has a wonky rounded spine so the logo doesn't quite line up

I have this preordered on Cheap Graphic Novels. If they released a companion, then I'd definitely get it. I'd also like a Bill Mantlo omnibus to be released, but guess we'll see. Bruce Jones, I am interested in that run, though I don't know if an omnibus could happen since apparently a lot of people hate that run.

Volume 1 of the Peter David run is a great place to start. And try and catch the other volumes before they go OOP.

Unfortunately they didn't keep the Vol. 1 reprint logo intact. It's kind of smaller than the other 3 volumes.

Just found out Cates is gone from Hulk and Ottley is gone as writer/artist with issue 14. Does David Gabriel know anyone who can convince Peter David to re-launch INCREDIBLE Hulk?
I got Peter David vol.1&2 and I'm getting the third one in epics ghost of the past future imperfect and in October fall of the pantheon but i definitely need that Omni asap

this run oddly enough made me notice how there aren't a lot of runs that are 4+ omnibuses long minus the silver, bronze and golden age comic runs.

Any issues with the spine? Saw a few that the glue had come away already and wasn’t sure if binding was an issue
I have not had issues with any of the hulk spines on my books. The only one that comes to mind was the All New Wolverine omnibus.

I’m not a completionist, I own vol 1-3 and don’t need to buy this just to have the full David run. Does anyone think it’s worth buying just based on the contents of the book??
I don't have this edition, because I'm from another country, but I have the full Peter David era, and yes, it's worth buying.

Bruce Jones! That was my first Hulk run. Bought it as single issues are they were coming out

I know you've been told this before these days. But you have to do something with that camera. Colors look muted, and HD could look better too.
This is shooting in 4K I’m not sure what you mean. I think the issue on this particular video was the camera went on autofocus for some reason. And the colors are the right balance as that’s what color correction does. I can make them more vibrant but that wouldn’t look true to the color of the book. I think you are the only person to have ever brought up the colors on the video.

Why do we have the 4th volume of this, whereas we're still yet to have a 2nd of the original Silver and Bronze Age run? Personally, I just wished that they had just started at the beginning and worked their way through in chronological order. These "X by Y" volumes should have been done as a separate line.
Short answer. The silver age omni didn’t sell. It went on sale for liquidation for four years and the recent new printing is one of the lowest selling books for retailers. Whereas David volume 1 had two printing as well as his volume 2. So starting from the beginning isn’t the best idea sometimes.
@@NearMintCondition Okay, thanks Omar. I was unaware of the sales numbers, I can assume that the same is true of Iron Man, as well, given that that hasn't gone beyond 2 volumes in 12 Years. Does that mean that titles like Tomb of Dracula and Master of Kung Fu sold more than those titles, given that they spawn more volumes and in quick succession?
Do you know what the plan is for titles, like Spider-Man and X-Men, that are getting continued releases, once they reach the modern-era time of these creator-focused, event-based releases? Would they end and then I have to jump to Mutant Massacre, and so on..., then to the Claremont/Lee books? What about the few issues that weren't included in those?!
Sorry for all the questions, but you have a lot of experience and knowledge with these books and I was hoping that the Omnibus was going to be a way for me to get a nice collection of early Marvel books in a continued run, but I'm now thinking that I'm going to have to get rid of them all and try and track down all the relevant Masterworks instead.
