Personally, I like the longer overview. Hearing u talk about the stories that's in them, is what usually helps inform my decisions on my purchase. Also, it's nice to hear the lil factoids and history of the books you're going through. To each is own though. I'll be watching either way.

Agreed. I am one of those fans who doesn’t care about paper, covers, font sizes. It’s Omar’s passion for the stories that sell me on the omnis that I’m on the fence about.

I like the more extended overview for the tidbits of info you might drop like why did a writer or artist leave the book or why there was a change in the storyline.

Yeah, brother. The longer overviews are YOU! I love hearing you go on and on about these stories because, well I don't go to comic stores anymore and it feels like talking or listening to a friend. So you do you!

No Omar, this was cool but i definitely prefer the longer, more in-depth overviews. I like hearing you talk/gush about a story arc/run/creator/era and why you do (or don't) love it/them. It's your enthusiasm for these books and stories that help me one way or another, decide whether to get them or not (your overview of Wolverine omnibus Vol. 3 being a prime example). Because of you, i've bought a few books that i wouldn't have otherwise (Jason Aaron's Thor) and you haven't let me down yet (nor do i think you ever will).
The only suggestion i would like for your to consider if you don't mind, is that towards or even at the end of the main overview, you do a spoiler section to discuss particular issues or arcs in full. Maybe you could do it as sort of a post-credit scene after you've discussed everything else? It would be fun and interesting to hear you talk about these things for people who already know what the story is, what happens, don't mind spoilers etc. Other than that, keep up the great work!🙂
As for this book, yep it's already on my (very long) list. Hopefully i'll get to it before a third printing comes out!😅

I prefer the longer overviews. You cover practically everything, cover to cover (see what I did there?)... That way we learn more about the stories, the creators, the stories of the creators, the build of the book, etc... And you warn us about spoilers on time, so... Definitely, longer overviews! Thanks Omar.

We like them omnis thicker than a snicker and them videos longer and stronger! You be you brother 💯. The best part of the shows are you talking about the stories and the artists and what they mean to you. . If people want shorter videos there's always a fast forward option.

I watch your overviews even when I'm not getting the book because of the way you connect with the stories and make them feel important (not that they aren't). It would be awesome if you could keep the long videos coming...maybe a deep overview when it's a first time to "feel the story" and a short one like this when you've done it before?

Both. You can release 2 x 12-15 min vids. 1 focusing on the built, paper quality, content and comparison while the other focusing on the stories and your thoughts. You can do 1 shoot but you'll need the discipline to compartmentalize what you're going to say for easier separation/editing. 🤓

Jan Duurseema is a much underrated artist. She was often used as a competeny journeyman fill-in artist, but given a longer run she could develop a style and comprehensive story-telling method.
My favourite runs she did was Arion: Lord of Atlantis and Dungeons & Dragons, both for DC. This book is worth it just for her work.

Totally agree with Omar that this is the best part of the Peter David run. He and Dale Keown worked seamlessly together and were a great team. I was so disappointed in Marvel firing Keown after #398 because he was going to move on to Image and do Pitt after #400 so we were robbed of him finishing the 2 final issues of that story. As for overview length, I prefer in depth but anything past 30 minutes gets to be too much for me.

I gotta have more Uncanny Omar! Just thinking of the famous SNL skit , I gotta have more cow bell. I'm newer to comics, so the stories that are collected interest me more than paper thickness.

If you've already done an overview a book (like this one), you don't need to do that twice for a reprint. But, if there's a new book or a book that you didn't make an overview (like Marvel Knights by Quesada Omnibus), sure, go ahead, I love your longer 30-minutes type of reviews.

I like your longer overviews generally - I can always scroll ahead if I want. But in this case you've already done a previous overview which you linked so if time is short, this format is fine for a repint review. The key part is the comparison with the old printing which you nailed as usual. Question: Dust jackets aside, which version would you keep?

I understand, and it saddens me to do so, that the algorythm DEMANDS certain kind of content, lenght and format, and since this is how you make a living now, I think nobody could blame you if you decide to go for shorter videos, but personally I LOVE the way you review a book beyond the show and tell aspect of it. For me, the true value of your content is what YOU know and love of these stories, the litle factoids thrown here and there, the anecdotes about where you were in life when you read those books the first time... basically, the ammount of heart you pour in every review.

Glad to be able to pick this up today!! i like the more in depth reviews.....BUT on reprints, I think it's plenty just mentioning you've done a longer review so people can go look it up. I don't see how you can give two or more longer reviews on the same material without repeating yourself. Not to mention I know it has to save some time since I can't imagine how you get done what all you do anyways. Honestly, I need a nap just thinking about it.

    Constructive criticism here.
I think the 30 minute overviews while good for context are sometimes too long to commit especially if we get multiple videos a day. I have had times where I haven't finished the video. I seem to be watching more about books on UA-cam than reading them thesedays😂 I do love listening to you talk though and would rather have the odd longer video if you have a lot to say, like X-Men.
But feel the Hulk overview was too short and honestly felt a little rushed for my liking. I think being so short affects the quality and enjoyment for me somehow. I think the sweet spot is about 18 to 20 minutes imo.🙂
I wouldn't mind a couple less omnibus videos either and showcasing different formats more but that's really down to me not buying many omnis.🙂
