John Henry

#44 of 50 mandolin tunes in 2020. This is one of my favorite bluegrass songs. It's upbeat, bluesy, and driving. I love the version by the Del McCoury band, so I spent a lot of time listening to the break by Ronnie McCoury. I also picked apart Adam Steffey's break a little bit from Jim Mills recording. Of course, I hope Mr. Bill Monroe's influence comes through on this as well.
