Trolling for Striped Bass and Hybrid Striped Bass

In this video I am trolling Alamaba rigs, a multiple lure bass fishing rig, for hybrid bass on Lake Norman in North Carolina. Hybrid bass are a cross between striped bass and white bass, and they are stocked in lakes around the country. I am using a high speed trolling technique designed to catch he hybrid bass and the spotted bass that are in these waters. Trolling Alabama rigs for stripers has become a popular way to catch hybrid bass on Lake Norman.

Love trying to catch those hybrids, trolling a rigs is fun and you can catch multiple species , a lot of times when they are deeper I put a 3/4 or 1oz egg sinker in front of the arig it's works a lot of the time. Another way to catch them is jigging over them. Good video buddy

If you have a gps trolling motor with a compass heading, that is the game changer right there, use it Steer with so you don’t have to keep fiddling with the steering wheel, made life a lot easier for me

Take it from an old Great Lakes troller… line counting reels ( for consistency) & snap weights could put you right in the ballpark. Leadcore is very speed sensitive with about 5’ average for every color let out. I don’t normally run it any faster than 1.5 or 2 mph. Slower is deeper.

Hey Mr deiter just like to say a little something if it’s ok a friend was leaving the south point access the other night stoped on side of road to make sure the boat was secure and he was struck by a car drunk driver I just want to say everyone please be careful and don’t drink and drive prayers for the young man that was struck he is only about 26 a new baby and the drunk driver was uninsured that hit him there a go fund me his name is Tyler murks thanks
