    Looked like a great day on the water thanks for sharing! Do the hybrids tend to hug bottom like that in the spring and summer also? What advice can you give on successful wiper fishing here in Oklahoma this time of year and in the summer? Thanks again I look forward to seeing more of your future fishing adventures!

    Thank you for this info! I’ve been struggling with my sonar, I’m constantly looking for the BIG school! I’m gonna get on the water ASAP. Awesome info!

      Glad this helped out. I used to look for the big schools and I ended up going around the entire lake realizing either there weren’t many fish or I was doing it all wrong. Very rarely as we try to point out in our videos the fish really start stacking up vertically. One thing I’d mention is play around with your graph’s settings so you can really distinguish the fish hugging bottom. It’s really easy to fish that look like the bottom if the settings aren’t right.

    Good information. I was out this past weekend for Largemouth but land a 5lb hybrid on a spinner bait in about 24ft of water. Trying to get better at sonar.

      Typically we use a thumper in the winter time. It keeps Hybrid Bass and striped bass under you. Sounds hokie but it 100% works. I have a video in it you can check out.

    What type of Lowrance is yours? My sensitivity maybe set wrong but I my sonar screen is constantly filled up with little spots. Could be small enough for shad. I usually use downscan because of it. Thanks for sharing your video.

      This is a winter technique when water temps are below 60. Normally won’t work in summer warm water. Live Shad is best right now. Slabbing for some lakes are good too.

    What leader size do you use for these fish? Just subbed👍

    • @BooneBoys
      @BooneBoys  2 роки тому +1

      @Tra McCoy thanks for the sub! We use 30lb mono leader. The reason for that is when putting mono leader on braid all the stretch is in that little portion of the leader. If you use 17-20lb leader we would break off several times a day, especially if the kids are cranking on the fish not using the drag.

      I live in Lexington NC we fish all over. They put hybrids in lake Norman most lakes around here have stripers but they’re experimenting with hybrids When I was a kid we used to go to Clark hill in Georgia and Kitch over 100 hybrids in three days average 6 to 10 pounds

      Thanks for watching our videos. There is an Oklahoma lake called Lake Norman. The boys and I love getting out. We are going to try for some big blues this weekend with Planer Boards. The weather here lately has been changing so fast the Hybrids have been a tough bite.
      We are planning a trip to Lake Texhoma here between Tx and OK for stripers here in a few weeks. Where at in TN are you going after stripers?
