    I absolutely love this talk! Janice shares her heartfelt story as she pushed past fear and created an amazing life for herself. For anyone starting over or struggling, you must listen to this!

    She really nails it around the 7:30 mark, hiding from fear is good in the moment but does nothing to make you feel better long term.

    The part about preparation without perfectionism is a game-changer for me. I always get caught up in making things perfect and end up doing nothing.

      You are not alone in this! It's a trap for a lot of us. That's why I decided not to attach any meaning to the outcome. Doing "the thing" is all that matters. 🙌

    This talk has me thinking about what fear I want to tackle and how I can use the ACA framework to walk through it this next year. I am inspired and challenged by this message. Thank you for sharing your personal experiences and showing 12 years of examples in action. LOVE this talk!

    I like that it was about proving she was more powerful than her fears. That's a really good way to approach it

      Those gears were squashing the life out of me for over 3 decades. It felt so liberating to start fighting back! Thank you for the love!

    For me, personally, I think overcoming fear is about freedom and tied into authenticity. I can't tell you how many times I've compromised what I really wanted to say or do for fear of being judged or disliked.

    “I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
    I know it's a cheesy quote from a cheesy movie but I've always thought this rings true for conquering fear and the message in this talk echoes and expands upon it beautifully.

    Never considered how avoiding fears actually makes them worse. It's like fear compounds interest or something.

      Totally! I've also found that when we step out of our comfort zone time and time again, it gets a little easier each time. What we focus on expands and grows.

    Wow 344,000 choices a day is wild... I've never thought about that or about how many are just automatic and maybe that needs to be looked at a little more!

    • @InspirationalChatterbox
      @InspirationalChatterbox 15 днів тому

      It's an average of 34,000 choices in a day! That blew my mind too. 😮 And like you said, so many are unconscious.

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Feels a little harsh, but I truly appreciate your honesty. Just out of curiosity, what is the one fear you want to walk through in the next year?

    • @uaps28
      @uaps28 Місяць тому

      @@InspirationalChatterbox Hiya, Janice. Yeah, perhaps I was a bit harsh. It's just a lot of these TedXTalks are repetitive and just don't inspire me at all. It's the TED panel's fault because they upload far too many talks and the same topics are covered again and again. Also, too many motivational speakers. However, when I get some spare time I will listen to your talk fully as you replied to me and I really appreciate that. And, you do appear to be a really nice lady, tbh.
      Btw, the world is that unstable now that we should all be fearing and taking action. I mean, this Middle-East conflict is way out of control now. We should all have a contingency plan and start to really think about what is on the horizon. All the signs are not good. We could be in the end times and what the Bible refers to as the 'Great Tribulation'. If that's the case then things are gonna really escalate, unfortunately.

    • @InspirationalChatterbox

      @@uaps28 Thanks for the thoughtful reply! I agree with you that there's a lot of repetition out there. Probably not a whole lot that's brand new info in general. I'm passionate about my talk simply because walking through one fear every year has changed me and my life. Since you brought up the Bible, it's crazy how the phrase "Fear not" is mentioned 365 times in there. With that much repetition, one must surmise that it's probably a fairly important commandment. Would love to know your thoughts..
