For those who aren't aware. This phone has two speakers. Yes the usb port is one and the sound does get a little bit blocked when plugged into the charger. But if you want to know there is a speaker on the top of the phone also which raises its volume when plugged in. They both work together also to create surround sound using dolby atmos. Hope that clears that up to you all.
Hi, I had the same issue that the phone did not accept the new battery. Luckily I found a workaround in a German newsgroup: 1) Boot up the device using the original Battery 2) connect an USB charger to the mobile 3) Disconnect the original batery and connect the new one ( you have to be quite fast, if the phone shuts down during the change you have to go back to step 1) 4) charge the phone for about 10 minutes and check if the batteryindicator moves up. 5) restart the phone and double check that the new battery is accepted. I’ve tested this method and it worked for me.
Very happy with this phone. It's awesome. My wife had it for 1 month before I had to order her a S9 plus because she didn't like the EMUI Interface. I saw an immediate regret in her face after seeing that the battery life and charging were inferior to the Huawei's, I'm not giving it back though 😂 It's a great phone and with some tweaking like making the screen layout as a drawer for the apps it brings back the stock Android feel that you were used to Google pixel or Samsung. Total recommendation.

Yep: Speaker port being plugged by the charger is not a good thing. The camera performance is cool, but I don't like the "painted" effect from over processing on some shots. I was REALLY geeked about the reverse wireless charging, until I found out how painfully slow it is. Half an hour only charges the other phone a few percent, and you can't use either phone while doing it. Using an OTG adapter and plugging another phone in direct is SO much more efficient and effective.

I just got that Phone for Christmas and i'm happy with it. I got to admit that the Sound is Kind of lousy while charging it, but to watch a UA-cam vid, you can let it Charge for 10 Minutes and the enjoy the full Sound with 35% additional battery. Sound without anything plugged in is very good.

I think because of the 40W supercharge and the 4200 mAH battery there will be no problem with the speaker inside the type C port because the phone can charge instantly in the morning as you prepare for your job and be able to hold on easily till the next morning

I just bought one 2 months ago for $300 USD, open box from China but it's a global variant. Love this phone. Too bad most US carriers refuse to transmit over it. But it'll be getting put through the paces in Panamá! In Panamá they have no fear of the Huawei brand. In fact there's a Huawei store in the Allbrook Mall. I used my dual sim Mate 9 there before with Claro and Tigo without a hitch.
Thanks to the 15 watt wireless charger I don't care about the speaker inside the type C Port. I mean even with wireless charging it needs less time to charge like the iPhones with cable 😂. Also the battery life is insane so you will never get any trouble with it, which means that you almost never need to charge it over day with a cable 😁. So everything is fine (for me)

So yeah, it's a transition period and people gotta complain about something, but let's revise that in 5 years :).
