In all fairness the tests are done in the same order...scratch , flame, and bend test. From my point of view a phone no matter what price or specs it has should be functional 100% after all these tests, in order to pass them. Because this could actually happen in a real life scenario, the front glass can get scratch (place the phone face down on a hard surface with small imperfections) and afterwards without realizing apply pressure on it (tight clothing) , I believe it should be placed on the shelf of shame.

If after cracking it doesn't read the fingerprint doesn't mean it not working, just means the accuracy changed, you can add another one and check if it reads the new fingerprint registered with cracks, is a valid test I think
Guys i know factory resetting or removing the fingerprints is a valid option but its not always so that suppose the screen stops working, your only option to save your data is the scanner to unlock
What good is that when you have to slap on a case on it as soon as you take it out of the box? Glass on glass curved screen designs are the absolute worst for durability, especially drops
Not a fan of Huawei, especially their OS which is an absolute nightmare compared to OxygenOS, but I gotta say...in-screen fingerprint scanner, wireless/reverse Charge, Ultra-wide display and that wonder of triple camera is quite interesting to say the least.

Ubreakifix is officially licensed to do Samsung repairs and it's been cited that repairs made by them retain the same IP rating since they use the same water resistant adhesive installed in the factory. But yeah, curved glass is bad in terms of durability. It's even moreso for Huawei with that Mate 20 Pro since it looks like they didn't put a buffer in place, meaning glass on metal contact.

Zack could you please register your fingerprint on phones before any testing is done? That way we can truly see if fingerprint scanners function in real damage cases (when finger is registered before damage)

The fingerprint doesn’t work anymore lol. Doesn’t matter if I register my fingerprint before or after the damage is done. Point is what if I want to add another fingerprint on my phone or I want to factory reset my phone
If after cracking it doesn't read the fingerprint doesn't mean it not working, just means the accuracy changed, you can add another one and check if it reads the new fingerprint registered with cracks, is a valid test I think
Guys i know factory resetting or removing the fingerprints is a valid option but its not always so that suppose the screen stops working, your only option to save your data is the scanner to unlock

What good is that when you have to slap on a case on it as soon as you take it out of the box? Glass on glass curved screen designs are the absolute worst for durability, especially drops

Not a fan of Huawei, especially their OS which is an absolute nightmare compared to OxygenOS, but I gotta say...in-screen fingerprint scanner, wireless/reverse Charge, Ultra-wide display and that wonder of triple camera is quite interesting to say the least.
1:55 You're wrong, that's not a tiny loudspeaker. The bottom-firing loudspeaker is in the charging port.
That's quite a bad design. The speaker could get muffled while the phone is charging.
I think this is a failed though. Once the screen crack it's definitely a fail imo. Phone is getting stronger and harder to bend & snap to pieces these day around. Should definitely -raise- lower the "shelf-of-shame" bar a tad bit.
Biased review! He did not mention the lighter burnt the center of the screen -- this plus the scratches and deep grooves. This is why he was able to cracked the glass.

No shame. It survived. It’s not very durable but it survived. It can redeem itself with repairable during the tear down.
The shelf of shame should be reserved for catastrophic failure. The screen still functions, so it can be replaced eventually.

@@KBoon That actually depends on whether a proper authorized manufacturer has replaced the display. Ubreakifix is officially licensed to do Samsung repairs and it's been cited that repairs made by them retain the same IP rating since they use the same water resistant adhesive installed in the factory.
But yeah, curved glass is bad in terms of durability. It's even moreso for Huawei with that Mate 20 Pro since it looks like they didn't put a buffer in place, meaning glass on metal contact.
Even oppo find x is not is shelf of shame.
