It can actually hurt even more to try and do something like hit or grab your opponent when they have that kind of a hold on you and certainly would not take any effort at all for your opponent to make it hurt a lot more. Now if it is happening to you the sensible thing to do is try and break the hold which he should have done. He certainly had the strength to break it and I would assume an assassin would be able to push through the pain long enough to do it.
Or he could have punched him while grabbing him by the head or kicked him like you said, or he could have just picked him up and thrown him across the room and then push a shelf on him😒

According to an interview with Keanu Reeves - this fight scene took 4-5 hours to film. I feel like this is the shortest fight in the movie and it took FIVE HOURS!!! I can’t imagine how long it took them to fight the big fight scene at the end and how athletic these actors must be!
What’s really cool about this scene is John specifically goes for low shots as much as possible because it makes sense. You’re fighting someone who’s 7’4”, you want to get them to your level cause it’s easier. He also tries to go for the neck as much as possible. Which is viable in any fight. Got to get smart cause of how John usually fights which is like wrestling almost. Good luck grappling the 7’4” hyper athlete assassin when you’re only 6’1”

Wick doesn't necessarily think he will win but thinks you would be too badly crippled if you had won.

According to an interview with Keanu Reeves - this fight scene took 4-5 hours to film. I feel like this is the shortest fight in the movie and it took FIVE HOURS!!! I can’t imagine how long it took them to fight the big fight scene at the end and how athletic these actors must be!

What’s really cool about this scene is John specifically goes for low shots as much as possible because it makes sense. You’re fighting someone who’s 7’4”, you want to get them to your level cause it’s easier. He also tries to go for the neck as much as possible. Which is viable in any fight. Got to get smart cause of how John usually fights which is like wrestling almost. Good luck grappling the 7’4” hyper athlete assassin when you’re only 6’1”
