- I waited patiently for two weeks for this rain to show up and made the most of it while I could. Over 40mm of rain over a 16 hour period of camping and the Naturehike Mongar budget tent performed very well. A basic dinner prepared over my alcohol cooker and a beer to wash it down. I hope you enjoy this rain camping video. I enjoyed capturing it for all to see !!!

@Deb Ramage, canvas is still wildly popular for Winter site/base -camp tents, in snowy locations, since they're a lot safer to put a stove in (some ppl even move into them long term, for hunting season or whathaveyou) - just a bit tough to fit into a backpack! 😉

Glad I pulled the trigger on this tent, but i actually intend on mostly using the inner, and just tarp over the top. Just so I feel I bit more connected to nature. But good to know if weather goes real bad I can just chuck the outer on.
I think camping and rain go together. Most videos are like that.

Great vid,,I’ve got the mongar 3 man brilliant tent,,,just a suggestion put the cross pole on the top of main pole not underneath more strength less chance to break and makes the mesh slightly tighter,,

Nice one bro. I try to remember a rag or cloth for wiping down my pegs and tent, helps to keep everything cleaner and hopefully last longer.

Just a tip: You’re pitching it wrong. The crossing midpole is supposed to go on top of the long one, not under. This will lift both the inner tent and the rain fly a few inches higher, and not only will it fit tighter and precisely, your bathtub floor will also rise to the correct height. (Did the same with mine until someone made me aware of it last week. Actually does quite a difference.). Thanks for the video, and happy camping!

Yea so the whole idea when I started the channel was to have both fishing and camping. Winter being more focused on camping but believe me I'm trying to get the fishing videos done too. Expect a mix of both through winter and summer from now on. I am glad you're enjoying it

I'm looking to get the mongar 2, but I've heard the full mesh inner gets kinda breezy with the wind coming in from under the rain fly... Did you have any issues with that? That's the only thing keeping me from buying it instead of the Star river 2, which is similar but has a more asymmetrical design I'm not that fond of...

I love my mongar 2 tent. It has never leaked and it has been through storms and wind. Yes sometimes strong winds and get under the fly but the fly does sit pretty low to the ground the whole way around.
