@@Juanmariabrausen I read about it ten years ago, so it might be off a little. You can do some googling. The story was that Bob loved to gamble on horses (he may have owned one?) and had lost his shirt doing so, so he lobbied hard for Pavement to cash in on the reunion hype that was going around (Pixies, Pavement, Dinosaur Jr., GBV, Archers of Loaf, Breeders all did the same around that time).

They were awful, or rather Stephen was, and I believe they, as most in the crowd, had taken significant amounts of this fruit roll upesque textured mescaline...with a very pejorative moniker.
It had gold flecks , within black gel, and the kids were referring to it as _ _ _ _ _ _ with a gold tooth. It's named was unfortunate, and insensitive, to be sure, but it's certainly served the scene...I could care less that Pavement sounded like shit, and they didn't seem that bothered either.
Lollapalooza they were terrible as well.
The New Orleans gig anyway...did these two fiasco, hinder my adoration for these magnificent bastards.

He actually said to me that Stephen was doing so good that he didn't need them. It was kind of a bummer statement. The Hexx is infinitely more interesting than what most people ever have to say. Even if it is warning you of some sort of imminent danger.

1:00:40 SM is the first professional I've ever seen actually use the rhythm circuit on a jazzmaster. (Or at least that's what I assume since he's switching back to the lead circuit at the timestamp.)

Clash lyrically meets The Beach Boys and Beatles. Peacefully bizarre and did it mostly in a time when everyone was trying to be heavy.

Not a lot of drummers can pull off the backing vocals..... but Seth Rogen really nails it.
