But even during the Unplugged set, Kurt jokingly made reference to the fact that he asked David Geffin to buy him Leadbelly's guitar for $500'000. @@danieldesario6420 It’s a rehearsal, though. We were never meant to hear this. Dave’s vocals needed more work than Kurt’s, so his vocals were louder during this rehearsal so he could make sure he would get it right during the actual show.

Dave's vocals were super loud in the mix (the p.a. general mix, not the monitor) and still, he asked for more volume on his monitor. All you can hear throughout the song are Dave's vocals, which sounded pretty damn good, by the way.

@@lucasg.5534 the monitor is a speaker right in front of the performer. They use it to hear the track as it suits them so the mix is different for each monitor depending on how they like it. It’s easier to sing when you can hear yourself
