all these markers suck ass good enough for framing . But You are not a craftsman
Feel free to get a life! Lol!!
Typical unsolicited internet douchery
Douche comment.
Bro mad he aint using chalk
@@Tekagi You ain’t hitting it hard enough then.
I've seen HF transition from solely "unbelievably cheap but it'll get through a few jobs" to "still cheap but also offer a pro line which is genuinely great to work with" and I'm all here for it
They are not low cost anymore.
Thank you for making this video. I never would’ve known about these, nor would I have tried them without a recommendation.
I’ve glued a spare marker cap into a substantial block of wood as a pen holder that seals immediately. This makes one handed marking and capping fast for repetitive marking at a bench. No more holding the cap in your other hand. I’m positive you can come up with a cap from a dead marker
I do the same thing for carpenter's pencils. I'd definitely glue a cap of this marker into my block.
Scope Pica Ink deep hole marker they already thought of that. Plus u can refill them and swap nib 180degrees when one side gets wrecked
We grabbed a couple of these markers when doing a retaining wall and were very impressed that they held up better than sharpie and Milwaukee 👍
Spot on review. Just for fun, I have been using the HF, Milwaukee, and Sharpie side by side for a few weeks. The HF is way better than the other two. Even writes on oily metal.
The Milwaukee kinda sucks. I've used them at work and I am not very impressed
@@btrswt35 agree, don't hold up well and the tip sucks
Best part about sharpies is the smell.
OMG I need that! So sick of Sharpies drying out or not working on multiple surfaces very well and I build random shit all the time so I need something that versatile.
Maybe try eating less Mexican food.
Very interested in how the print holds up to prolonged natural sun and rain exposure.
I bought these a few weeks and wanted to stand on a mountain and yell to the world that this is the best marker ive ever used.
I bought the same markers on the day you posted this, glad to see I made a good choice. I haven’t had a chance to use them yet.
Have to check them out. My EDC is a carpenter pencil and a Sharpie. Sharpie quickly wears to an eighth inch line and dies in the wet. 👍
Thanks for the heads up, going to get some of these.
Outstanding! Good markers are indispensable! 😃👍
Truly a diamond in the rough! Thanks.
Thanks for the review. I’ll grab a few next time I’m at HF. Never can have too many markers around, especially at a good price.
Thanks for the tip. Just when I need some new markers.
Life hack: If your marker dries out dip it in rubbing alcohol.
Going to Harbor Freight later today to grab some. Thanks!
Going to try these. I use a LOT of Sharpies. They last me maybe 3 days because I am constantly writing with one. I was buying the bulk pack at Sam's because the bulk boxes on Amazon are often counterfeit fake Sharpies that suck. I need the real deal, or better. And this HF Marker may be the better I need. The price is OK if it lasts as long as you say. Assuming the ink performance is what I need, we may have a winner. As it happens, I am out of Sharpies AND need to visit HF anyway. Perfect timing. If this marker can meet my needs, this will be huge.
Have you tried the industrial sharpie ?
Post an update after you use the HF markers for a while.
Thanks for posting this, I am a union electrician and I have grown weary of weak markers when laying out openings in panels, and marking conduit, strut, and steel for fabrication work. I will give these a try.
If you’re union you better be careful using any that they don’t supply or you’ll be frowned upon for not supporting other union products
@@tacklebox6239 that sounds like bitter jealousy? Markers don’t invoke the wrath of the union.
@@markk3652 what’s this world coming to where the union brothers are supporting other union brothers with the products they use on union jobs 🇺🇸? That’s why this country is going to hell in a hand basket. Even the unions don’t look out for each other.
@@tacklebox6239 see, now you’re contradicting yourself
@@markk3652 you aren’t supporting other union brothers when you buy non union products. What kinda union man are you? Any good union man only buys union. By union for union.
I will need to try that one! I am a telecommunications tech and always have a marker in my pocket. I have used many different markers over the years and so far the Zebra Mackee/Mckee twin tip has been the best.
I love my Milwaukee! I saw these harbor freight ones last night when I was standing in the checkout line and did not expect anything like mentioned, but now I will be buying some next time I’m in the store😅
Very nice review and good information I'm going to have to try me a pack
I just started using the silver sharpie marker. I found it at walmart and it works great too. I wanted a lighter color for dark surfaces and it does what I need. Good tip on these though.
They are great! In fact, a silver Sharpie is the list of personal gear US Coast Guard recruits are required to have when they arrive for basic training! Semper Paratus ("Always Ready," USCG motto)! 😎✌️
I've been using generic Walmart markers for several years now, simply because they were cheap. It was like like a buck for two of them. But with all the shortages and logistics nonsense STILL going on, they went up. Now I can't even get generic items any more and I'm not paying $3 for a Sharpie that I'll only end up throwing away in a few days!
Supply and demand can be a bitch 😂
Interesting lead -in advertisement for HOME DEPOT before this video for Harbor Freight...which was good and I will give this marker a tryout . Thank You !
Thanks now I know if I see these I should buy them
I love the Milwaukee markers. I’ll check these out for sure.
I own a Telco-Data Co. Pulling cable you have to ID the boxes, and the cable at both ends. If you leave the cap off of a sharpie for a minute, your next cable ID is faint because it dries out that fast. For $2, I'll definitely give these a try.
Pulled cables for APs yesterday. So far after many years and markers, the Zebra Mackee/Mckee twin tip has been the best. The ultra fine end is great to label 66 blocks.
Hidden jewels! Thanks!
Good to know, I killed probably 3-4 sharpies building a shed recently. It was so frustrating.
Good to know, thanks. Liked and subscribed.
I cannot ever remember losing the cap to any writing instrument. I do need some Sharpies so I will give these a try.
For that price and good of a review, I'll try them out myself...but am curious how the tip holds up. My sharpie tips seem to round out quickly and mysteriously.
just what i need, another reason to go to HF. those markers will cost me at least 20 bucks
😂😅😂
It’s a damn good thing they wrote anti roll ridge on that marker. I would have assumed the lump was a defect and threw it in the trash
These are the UA-cam videos I want to see.
Someone let Project Farm know. We need to see some tests.
Real bona-fide Sharpies versus the counterfeit fakes on Amazon MUST be a part of the test. The fakes are absolute trash pretending to be real. And Amazon doesn't even care.
The Pica markers (both ink and pencil) are amazing too
I stick my sharpies point down in a cap of acetone when they dry out. I've got one I've done a few times and it's still working.
I rarely find anything at HF that doesn’t exceed my expectations ! Thanks for the heads up on the Markers!
Try their electrical tape
Your expectations must be low. They have some decent stuff but the majority is junk and overpriced. Many of the small items are cheaper and better quality at lowes and home depot. Their icon line is a great example of being overpriced
Next time I go to Harbor freight I will try them out
I ironically was gravely confused by my Milwaukee marker running out of ink today. The thing is practically brand new.
I wish we had a Harbor Freight store in Alaska.
Can't you order online?
@@donsmith9081 They don't ship anything with a lithium battery up here, so no cordless power tools. Anything heavier than or larger than a bag of oranges and they won't ship it to Alaska. So, 85% - 90% of their inventory is a no.
1:26 "the very next day" I thought you were going to say the cap actually found its way back to the marker on its own 😁
Hey, great review. I'm gonna have to try these markers out. Can't beat the price. If you get a chance you should do a review on the mechanics mat that harbor freight also sells. It folds in half for compact transporting. When unfolded it can be used to lay down, even has a headrest. I don't think I seen any reviews on UA-cam. Harbor freight website only has one picture. So can't get a good idea of product dimensions. Cost I believe is around 25 dollars.
I use sharpies often I'll have to try them
Damn straight, love those markers, just as a bonus the weight of the marker makes it perfect for flying through the air when you want to throw them at someone 😂
I stsrted carrying these along side a pen in my EDC "setup". I use them at work since i was tired of using shitty sharpies with caps that were left off and people had jammed them so they were round
Markers have been around for ages and the Sharpie was invented in 1964, yet it took all this time to come up with a marker that not only lasts, but if you forget to replace the cap and find it the next day, it still works? I must stock up in a dozen or so of these!!!
Sharpie needs to up their game.
HFT for the win
I will buy multiple packs next time I’m in HF. I have a specific use for them in my shop.
I will give them a try .I'm sick of the cost of sharpies. And the drying out. I wish Harbor freight sold a jobox. I need another one. Again...
Good find. I've used the Milwaukee markers and really like them. The HF ones look to be worth a try.
One question.....what's with the pinky-finger nail?
PICA is my go to
[EDIT: Eventually the Sharpie brand has also rubbed off nearly completely] FYI, the HF marker rubbed off a metal outer surface of a USB drive (yes after letting it dry half a day). I then used a Sharpie on an area not previously marked on, and while it faded some with the moderate rubbing and use, it did not come off completely as did the HF Marker. So although the marker probably has some other benefits depending on use, if what you mark is something that also is handled, you might want to opt for the Sharpie brand. This of course depends on the material being marked as something porous like wood... is fine either. Thanks
I rank the Milwaukee markers best because any tool that's black is as good as lost once I set it down
Could you do a comparison on how the ink holds up (and maybe on odor)? Drying time and a smear test would be cool also.
Isn’t it nice when you find something that works better and is a better value. I’ll have to try the HF markers.
I haven't seen those i have been using the hart walmart ones they hold up pretty well
Hart tools are made by the same parent company as Milwaukee and Ryobi, so I would guess their markers are probably the same.
Nice! I wonder how well they stand up to the elements outside as use for making plant I.D. tags.
Outdoors pencil is durable than ‘permanent markers’.
@@peterbarlow8912 In the nursery trade, we used Chinese pencils, also known as grease pencils. Lasted forever or until they were rubbed off.
The Sharpies with red lettering work for outdoor items. Been using them for a couple years after a recommendation from another Master Gardener. Haven’t been able to find those pencils for some time. I used to use those too, they’re great.
No UV protection. Those markers all quickly fade to nothing. The UV protected gardening markers might last a season, but they fade eventually too.
FWIW, I have Sharpies, have used the caps correctly (tight), and have had these for probably over 10 years, no exaggeration. One I once dipped in alcohol when it getting dry and am still using it.
Your experience is much better than mine. I jot the in-service date on a Sharpie's barrel, find that one year is really stretching it.
I have one that I've used since 1991. Still works ok.
“FWIW” ???
@@95frankieFWIW = "For what it's worth"
@@95frankie For what it's worth
It's nice that it does not dry out quickly but i wonder if that means that marks made with it would be slow to dry and might easily smear. But I'll give them a try.
I would have never purchased these since I have been burned in the past. I am going to pick some up.
If you watch project farm, you see a lot of harbor freight tools end up ranking middle of the pack.... For the cheap cheap price.. Can't beat it.
There's a nice reddit post where some dude compared a bunch of markers and how long they lasted on beakers or something.
I really didn't like the Milwaukee markers, I found them to rub off steel (clean or dirty) much more quickly than Sharpie, they smear and they don't work for crap on oily steel which is one of their big brag points. Sharpies are cheaper, work better, have a better tip and don't get stolen so often (not red = not eye catching).
Unfortunately we don't have Harbor Fright in Canukistan but next time I'm down to the States I'll definitely grab a pack of these to try out.
The Milwaukee markers are a bunch of hype and just suck.
Could you not just order a couple online?
Is there anything on Amazon that is its equivalence? I don't like that Mill pens too. Don't work well at all for me. If not then, I 'll order it from HF online.
if only these gems where in the uk
Have you tried the bic markers? Theyre my go to
Does the inkzall cap fit on it? My tape leash at work is where my marker dangles and the hole in the cap is how I attach it. Would love the best of both worlds.
Thanks, I hate dried up Sharpies!
They're the same price as the inkz all so I won't go out of my way to get them but if I'm ever at hb I'll pick a few up
The problem with these types of products is that Harbour Freight does so much switching around that while today or 3 months they are there.. in a year... maybe not. Sharpie and Milwaukee are proven and been around for awhile and easy to find everywhere.
Yes, I've seen this with Harbor Freight in the past. I think they try a product and if it doesn't meet their expectations with sales and or feedback, they pull it. I suppose if they quit carrying them, I'll go back to buying the Milwaukee's marker.
Did you try Sharpie Pros?
Do they have a silver marker? - I use silver to write on black surfaces (like oil filters)
A dollar a piece is crazy value. You can’t afford to not try them out it sounds like.
Hobo Freight! Love that place! Wife hates it 🤣
Going to use my 25% off one item no exclusions coupon on these
Yes Yes Yes Good Video 🦒🦒🦒🦮🦮🦮
Do they come in a different ink?
Does it last on lightly oild lightly soiled metal?
Does the tip turn into mush if you press too hard - that's my problem with all markers.
Milwaukee markers are actually a little cheaper than Harbor Freight markers at the big Orange store
I must admit that I doubted you on this, but checked and found it to be true. Some on here have said that they don’t like the Milwaukee - I wonder which one is better. Somebody call Project Farm!!!
😂
Anybody know what the solvent is in this marker? With Sharpies, you can remove the markings on smooth surfaces with alcohol. I wonder if the same is true of this one or if you'd need to use something else.
In my experience, Sharpie markers last many years if you always replace the cap. Knock offs go dry quickly.
That has always been my experience too. I wonder if Sharpie will want to change their formula and knock these off. ;)
I've got a special red sharpie I used in high school and still use it at work now and I'm 31. Sharpies never go bad.
Also, if you store them in a cup, UPSIDE DOWN, this helps with their longevity.
The do last but wear dull quickly on rough surfaces.
I work in a -2 F freezer. Only permanent marker that wouldnt blow up from freezing was the milwaukee jumbo, but the cap on that thing is complete trash. Really wish someone would come out with something that was more durable/could withstand the extremes
After it dries can you erase it with a spray of Alcohol?
I never gave marker quality a thought except for crappy dollar store ones
I wonder how fade resistant it is. Regular sharpies are not very fade resistant.
I bet the hf marker will not write on oily steel like a drive shaft yoke
Wrap red electric tape on it or paint it red then you can find it I did that to my harbor freight flash light black blends in and hard to find when you lay it down 😮😊😊
For me the Sharpies tip dull/smudge way too early, they dry out too quick too. HF are so much better.
When i worked at a machine shop one if the guys bought some millwuakee markers i thought they sucked.
Sharpies are absolute garbage in the metalshop compared to the Milwaukee marker.
I'll give the HF a try. (never new it existed)
eye Like these type of videos and confidence is high I will be entertained if I was to subscribe. So who would not SUB after this "Rest in Peace Sharpie" video? Thank you. Cheers!
Side by side testing?
Why don't I have 10 of these. I will be fixing that.
Use the professional sharpie. Standard ones blow.
A few others have posted this. Out of curiosity, can you leave the cap off of them?
@@1D10CRACY
I have no reason to do so. And it's a force of habit to put the cap back on.
Milwaukee one works the best for me.
That used to be my choice too!
