Will Ford ever put a V8 in a Bronco? With our experience so far in the Bronco world, we are going to give you our facts, opinions, and predictions for the Bronco. Starting from the beginning, Ford had the 2021, 2022, and 2023 Bronco. In 2023 they announced that if your Bronco was not scheduled for production as a 2023 model year, that your order would be wiped completely.
Because of this we think that Ford will bring a refresh to the 2024 Bronco. We believe that we could possibly see an updated grille, different hood, or different fenders. Also Ford will be consolidating the Trim levels available. Right now we have the base, Black diamond, Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, Everglades, and Raptor. With Ford reducing the number of Trim levels, it will speed up the process.
For predictions we are really hoping to see a new engine in the Bronco Raptor. As you know there is the F150 Raptor, and the F150 Raptor R. It would be really cool to see Ford do a Bronco Raptor R. So what do you think is on the horizon for Ford? Let us know in the comments down below!

The lack of a V8 is the only thing stopping me from buying a Bronco. Have even considered looking for one with a blown motor and putting a coyote in it.
Do it, it’ll be a lot cheaper than +100k lol
Don't do it. ford has yet to unlock the electronics of the bronco for aftermarket. That's why all tunes out now are just piggybacked on the ECU. Seen plenty of people get to the teardown and build of it and realized they bricked their vehicle because they could not get into the bronco's wiring.
Turbo V6 doesn't last as long. Let others be the experimental test group. Looks cool like a land rover but might be a lemon like the land rover, lol.
@@trav22trex21 Thats what standalone ecus are for
It’s not just about the horsepower or gearing it’s the v8 sound soul in feel plus the horsepower lol 😂 but all seriousness just give us a v8 option period it’s so simple 7.3 Godzilla or the new 5.0
That 7.3l is not fitting in the Bronco at all they barely can fit the 5.0 in the Bronco they’ve been trying to fit it in the Bronco and they’ve been saying it’s too big but they are still trying ways to put it in
@@redhunnid5142the 7.3 is physically smaller than the 5.0 and has more torque requiring a stronger frame
The sounds and the fact that the power with less pressure means it will last longer.
I hope they add an option for ventilated seats. It’s hot down here in Lower Bama vented seats would be sweet
Leather is the worst thing in any car anywhere in the south. I lived in Florida most of my life and it would almost make me angry if I got in someone else’s car and they had black leather. I have definitely called several of my friends idiots for buying a car with black leather. That Florida summer heat is no joke. If you have a car with very dark interior and leave it parked in the summer sun, the dark surfaces can reach 180-200 degrees in a matter of hours. On a 100 degree day, your dashboard alone can easily reach 155-160 degrees in one hour in direct sunlight.
Ventilated seats are definitely a must-have in the south
And rear passenger AC vents too
I would definitely get in line for a new bronco with a v8. Sign me up
I don’t understand why Ford just doesn’t offer up a computer mod, or offer a switchable solution so owners can just install the Coyote 5.0 motor into their Bronco’s.
Ford sells Coyote 5.0 to Icon for the old Gen 1 Broncos with the computer systems they need to run it, just make a similar option for the Gen 6 Bronco’s.
The 5.0 and the 3.5 just do not physically fit, they had all ready modified the T6 platform to make the 2.7 and 3.0 Ecoboosts fit, and the 3.0 diesels in the overseas Rangers, I am sure more power can be extracted from the three current engines, probably not enough to satisfy someone only interested in sound or compensation.
@@garys2157 The Coyote 5.0 does fit. There are videos of people making the swap.
I haven’t seen any completed yet.
From what I have read the computer issues are the biggest hurdle.
@@chrisdrake7352 It does not without Vegas Rat Rodding it, someone knowing what they are doing without compromising safety and your warranty and features of the vehicle, and costs.
@@garys2157 yep. I see no downside to customizing a car to make it what you want it to be.
I always thought one of the best ways to build a Bronco, find one that’s been crashed and build it how you want it. No rules.
@chrisdrake7352 That's is probably the best thing to do, heavy modifications, starting at build.
A 2 door Bronco Raptor R with a supercharged V8 is something I’d probably sell my soul to own haha! But for now, I’m saving up to (eventually) install a Ford Performance supercharger and suspension package on my 2021 F-150 STX 4x4 5.0 SuperCab in Lead Foot Gray! Great content as always, much love from Texas!
I have the same truck! Just a 22 and it’s iconic silver but 5.0’s and Supercabs go very well together
@@carguy0389 heck yeah! I’ve owned 4 Ford F-150 SuperCab trucks throughout my life, they’re great!
@@lucasblanchard47 I’m on my first. The 5.0 in my truck is really making me want a mustang with a 5.0 lol
@@carguy0389 they’re great engines
That…what you said…plus, a solid front axel and a manual transmission and I’m right there with you
I just want a v8 option in the bronco please. Maybe Ford should have an f150 based bronco with a v8 option.
Very true a v8 would be absolutely amazing
Be would be cool would be a 3.0 option for the regular Bronco or a naturally aspirated, straight six or a V-6
Sadly I predict that the Manual Transmission will probably be lost in the next gen. I own a Badland Lux Manual and IMO its one of the most fun build options for a daily driver. Many UA-cam reviewers agree. I know only about 15% of buyers orders manuals, but when you look at how limiting the order system is (no V6, not available with certain trim levels, etc) Those who got theirs struggled to do so. I know it took me a long time to figure out how to order a Manual+ Lux before I found that it was available with the Badlands. (The other trim levels wont even let you get dual zone climate control with a manual trans.) The manual transmission is SO GOOD I would strongly suggest anybody get it, even if its their first manual and they are going to learn how to shift using the Bronco.
Is your Bronco 2Dr or 4Dr? What size tires and gearing? So, you are saying the 2.3 EB is enough?
Btw, totally agree with your view on the manual. Ford was very smart with gear ratio. Much better than the German 6sp in the Wranglers. That just added an extra step between first and 1:1. Ford kept that the same but added a 2nd OD.
Yeah I had a base model two three manual and I f****** loved it. It was so easy to drive and so awesome. Although I did feel there was a bit of a gap between 5th and 6th gear and when I would drive in the mountains and mine was a hard top since it was a two door and it was freaking loud in there and the sealant when you looked at it was terrible so hopefully they've got that top figured out now. I know I felt like the two three was enough and that crawl gear was freaking awesome. Off-road put it in low range crawl gear and just scoot one mile an hour at a time over everything
Agreed here 100%. All I drive is standards and it is one hell of a drive.
Keep the manual and offer it with s V6...
The manner in which Ford has been treating it’s customers I have doubts they will be producing vehicles in 2024!
I would love to see the APG type hoods and fenders with very little fender flares on them, if you haven't seen what APG did with the Raptor more less any of the other Broncos you need to go check them out. I think on all trim levels you will see a digital dash only, which makes more sense then to have different clusters for every vehicle offered. I also think you will see a reinforced steering box and tailgate. One thing I think will happen is a lot less delays. As for motors I think they should offer the same 3.5 V-6 for the Raptor and the 3.0 for the rest of the trim levels or maybe even offer the Diesel for the Bronco.
I agree with Mitchell that there are too many variations on the current models. I’d like to see higher tow ratings for the next Bronco and a little beefier steering up front. That said I love my Black Diamond!
❤Thank you for sharing God bless you
I love my 2021 Bronco Outer Banks Sasquach but I would trade for a V8 Bronco Raptor -R
I love my 05 Durango but I would also trade it in for a V8 Bronco Raptor
Do you think they'll bring cloth seats back for the 2024 wildtrak? I'm looking to order a 2024 when the banks open, and much prefer cloth seats, so i hope so. I swing back to leather if a ventilated / cooled seat became an option though...
They wont put the 5.0 in there cause thats actually what the people want... wont put the 3.0 Powerstroke in there because they stopped making it and its what people REALLY want...
The first 6G Bronco I ever saw, was during a race. It was a Bronco Raptor R Baja Racer. 2nd one I saw, was the Wildlands Fire Dept. Bronco EV & Filson Edition. These were the first 2 I saw, before seeing any other 6G out on the public road. The EV 4 Door is coming in this next 2024/27 model. Hopefully they will bring the 4 Door Pickup too. We need a Bronco with better pulling power. I have the BB 4DR Manual., but had on order the Everglades. I know I probably would never get it. That's why I made the Bronco6G Handle Name Neverglades.
I just want my next Badlands to have the Hoss 3.0 option or a Wildtrack with sway bar disconnect. All the rest I love as is. The Raptor is awesome but I struggle with the massive price difference.
i personally hope they go with the fenders that you have on your bronco now
Could that electrical issue where the revs won't go over 900 be the EFT (Electric Fuel Throttle)?
When do you think the orders for 2024 will open
Do you think the 2024 bronco will get the full digital dash like the raptor
My husband still owns and drives his 77 Ford 4x4 F150 Custom. And he just bought a brand new 2023 Ranger Lariat after all these years.
Agree on the too many variations. I do see an interior refresh more than an exterior refresh.
I would get the Bronco Raptor R in a heartbeat. The feel and sound of the truck is incredible but I prefer the short wheelbase of the Bronco. Would love for them to come out with one!
Nicely explained
I bet they come out with an EV or hybrid version of some sort.
They definitely need to reduce the number of trims. I think they need 1: base (combine base, big bend and black diamond into one “base” trim and price it around the current big bend
2: semi luxury trim like the outer banks for mall crawler people, uh, I mean for “off-roading in style” people.
3: serious off road and rock crawl trim, like Badlands
4: high speed desert trim like the current wildtrack trim
5: a lowlands/swamp trim like Everglades
6: the Raptors.
Make “Hertigae” a package available on each trim. Basically the heritage package is just the white top/wheels/grille, badges, pinstripe, and a few white interior accents.
Just by doing that, the number of trims drop from 10 down to 6
They need to come out with a model that has a live front axle.
I hope they add a Digital dash as standard equipment. That would be amazing!
Lmao I love the video of the new ford bronco going down black bear pass and the brakes failed on the new bronco.
I have a 2021 bronco Sasquatch. Love it! But I would definitely consider buying another bronco if it is offered with a V-8. A bronco raptor R would be awesome! I would definitely buy one if it is under 115,000. just can’t beat the exhaust note of a V-8.
Great information.....too good 👍👍...... 4:49 🤘🤘🤠🤠
You can make over 400 WHP and 500 TQ with bolt-ons and a tune with the 2.7L and stock turbos. People sleep on the 2.7. Its the stock tune that makes it feel lazy…
I have a 250, my son has a 250, my wife drives an explorer st. If they drop that supercharged coyote in a bronco raptor I’m going to lose my house and my license! 😆 700hp in that buggy would be amazing!
Dark horse high performance engine is going into the Raptor R. A little different hp by small amount, but the same high output 302 V8 twin throttle body engine
I have a raptor bronco 23 coming in next month, was gonna trade my 21 Gt 500. Then I discovered the 3.0 v6 is only direct injection! My 2018 raptor had direct and port injection. I think this is a deal breaker for me.
Id love to see a bronco truck and a bronco raptor r (turbo coyote or predator)
Supercharger.
V-8! YES!
Given that the Ranger Raptor has a 3.0, I'm betting that's all there will be in the Bronco. Like Jeep, appearance changes will be slow to come. EV seems more than likely. I hope I live long enough to see Ford offer a color matched roof.
A 4.0 V6 Ecoboost for Bronco Raptor. Supercharged V6 version of Godzilla or Coyote for Raptor R model. Leaning towards more low end torque.
All the bumps, delays and after they canceled my order when I jumped on the early ordering when it first opened in 2021. Not longer interested in being brand loyal. It is why I am now a Nissan household.
RTR, Roush, Shelby Raptor Baja packages may fill the gap.
At Friday's PPIHC party I got to see a 2022 F-150 ? W/ Shelby Raptor Baja pkg. And a 2022 Mischievous Purple Shelby Super Snake open cockpit with fiberglass tonneau.
it would be cool to have a bronco raptor r, but with the increased MSRP of a braptor now and a current braptor owner myself I don't think it would be worth whatever the price would be to get it.
I'm interested to see how long the small cube turbocharged engines will last. When I see them last like Toyota engines I might think about considering buying one
My 2023 bronco WildTrak is scheduled for production the week of 7/21.... I'll take that more than happy and run 😂
If they offer a base model with 4wheel drive it would be great. The amount of gizmos comprable to a eighties bronco, power steering, brakes, windows, air-conditioning, v8, choice of sound system and a third of the current base price
As much as i like my everglades model. Id probably trade it for a nice jucicy v8 bronco.
A Raptor R isn't what I'd want, another $150k+ vehicle. I currently own a 2 door Sasquatch with the 2.7, it makes power sure, but its still a turbo motor and has lag, along with the hunty 10 speed. Honestly the 6.8 or 7.3 would be easier to fit in the Bronco and a better option than the Coyote. If my 2.7 gets recalled I'm gunna beg for the Zilla lol.
Aluminum block 6.8 v-8 and I'm changing
Ford put a 6.8 or a 7.3 V-8 in the bronco get rid of those small turbo engines!
YES 👏
I would buy one but must have standard v8
I would love to order a '24 Bronco, but after my 21 month wait for my current Bronco, no thank you. Had to order it a second time due to color eliminated, then had to order it a third time because of a dealer error.
Don’t touch the LOOK 😅 😂 Yes, refresh the interior and add options but the look has to stay the same for a while.
Sure hope they bring back a dark metallic blue. Wish I could have gotten an Antimatter.
How can I get on the list for the 2024, Bronco Raptor. Thank you
Center console Air vents for the rear seat passengers
I'm still waiting for my 2023 order. So it's gonna just go away and I'll have to re-order? MAn!
Also unfortunately the 2024 Bronco (automatic) and the 2024 Ranger will not be able to be flat towed/4-down behind a motorhome. They might look at a software and hardware change for the 2025 model year. Very disappointed to say the least.
Driving a 2005 discovery 3 with 230k miles on the odometer. Original everything except I blew a transfer case chain climbing a hill I shouldn't have. 18 yrs old air suspension fully functional including hyperextend mode as I found out at glamis hill climbing again. Electric terrain options and yes a 4.4 litre V8 . Invested less than 15 grand purchased used stock years ago. 275 65 18 cooper discoverer atp II take me where I need to go in Mojave desert. HD model locking rear differential. Rather spend my money driving off road than monthly payments a
nd high insurance costs. 4 wheeling 4 ever.
I would like to see a diesel option.
I would plop down whatever it took and call in any and all favors to get one with the 6.7 eco-monster In it. You could drag three coyote equipped units behind it down the road.
They need to upgrade the steering rack and the tie rod joints also shift the number plate from the back left corner onto the spare wheel mount area going off road you can destroy that area if you come down on rocks
I had to bail at the 2-20 mark. Salesmen get on my nerves.
I just hope they fix the flaws first. And hopefully don’t make the new one worse.
So has TC test fitted a ( small block ) Coyote engine in a Bronco ?
Is Ford going to give us pre 2023 Bronco owners a trade in for our soft tops for the new 2023 upgrade version?
I dread change sometimes.. the original bronco body ran for 11 years.. today after 3 years they change what is not broken. Dont get me wrong, sometimes changes are good but I dont think anyone is tired of the current body of the bronco yet and I hope they leave it like it is for another 3 years.
Love my 2023 Badlands
I've owned two 90's model full sized Broncos and they never were offered with anything smaller than a 302 and none of them had 4 doors except the Centurion. To me the 4 door looks just like another soccer mom jeep. This is the reason I didn't buy a new one.
Would Be cool to see a Bronco Raptor R but Ford already put out a 5.0 Bronco Desert Racer
I would like a 2 dr version of a v8 bronco. I have owned numerous full size and bronco two's and loved them all. Really wanted a bronco 2 with a 460 but not to be. Cute but too much $$$$$.
Where is your dealership located ?
Nice to put a 3.5 L Ecoboost in a Bronco Raptor-R Instead of a 3.0L With Quad Exhaust giving 400 hp and 500 hp ft of torque 😊
Like your cool pole shirt.
Hi Mitchell, another great video. As a Canadian subscribed fan that's been following along for a long time now I have to agree. Does a Bronco need a V8 engine? In my opinion, NO. The 2.7 V6 has more then enough power for the weekday driver and the weekend warrior in all of us. The Badlands package is what I got on my 21, Its perfect for what we use it for. Thanks for the video and keep up the good work.
I'm probably just going to buy a prior gen Bronco since there's no V8 option in current gen.
There should be 3 models.
Base (big bend) Lux and raptor.
As long as all they offer are GDI Turbo engines, there will be no Bronco in my garage
I still like that two tone green on white color
Still want a Bronco Truck..P.S. any other Bronco owners keep banging their knee into the light switch dail? I keep thinking I’m going to break it, would prefer it to be a little higher.
I did until I realized that the steering wheel had a telescopic lever that allows the steering wheel to go in and out as well as up and down!!
me too . bronco pu with a 6' cargo box on the current 4door wheel base 116" perfect off road rig as the gladiator pu wheel base is just to long@137"
Huh! Had a factory 302 in my 69. LOL No turbo engine for me, thanks.
I hope they have air suspentions
Bronco raptor r !?!? TAKE MY MONEY
I own a bronco.. sadly I think it would be way too much for it.. plus the v6 eco boost is more than sufficient. And it weighs less.
They need to make turbo kit upgrades for the 2.7 so we can make more power. Haven’t really seen anything out there
Just tune the ec.. it has easily another 80hp and 100tq to squeeze out of it reliably.
@@LANsolo12 but I want bigger turbos as well not just a tune. I want 650+ hp and about 200 more tq
@@sikeditionperformance7178 they do sell aftermarket big turbo kits for the 2.7.. lol all the way up to stage 4 with down pipes and all the extra bits and pieces 😁
@@LANsolo12 where cause all I see is intercoolers and down pipes not the actual turbo’s . Just supporting things for the current turbos it has. I’ve looked everywhere .
@@sikeditionperformance7178 look for turbo kits for the f150
Instead of the v8, why not the 3.5? You can get an f150 regular short bed 4wd with a v8 if you need it.
Plug in Hybrid turbo 2.3L with 400hp but gets 30+mpg
Don’t forget the Classic model
The TT 3.5L V6 could make plenty of power in a Bronco Raptor. It's fast in the Ford GT.
If they give the option to put the v6 with a manual transmission then ill be happy.
Nice video. I had the privilege of seeing a Bronco Raptor. Hearing it totally ruined the experience. If Ford wants to talk heritage, the original Bronco had a 302. Enough said.
Ok but we want an affordable v8 bronco like 66-96 wtf
You guys probably up charge the crap out of them just like the rest of the dealerships
Is there enough room for a V8?
There is
If Ford ever wants to appeal to the overlanding market, they HAVE to option a Diesel engine, v6 or straight 6 w/Turbo. If they intend the Bronco to be a REAL TANK other than some metrosexual sprinter that you can't rely on traveling rough terrain with a heavy payload for extended periods.
it's not the point about the power, it's the v8 and price and make it affordable. But I guess ford has thousands of four bangers it has to put somewhere. And why not a v8 and stick tranny or that's too much to ask
I'm waiting for major exterior updates like a whole new body. I hate the current look. It has the weirdest proportions and body lines. I've wanted to like them so bad but just can't.
They’re definitely releasing an EV Bronco by 2025, probably with the release of the T3 project.
I think they will have a electric option since everyone wants to kill the gas motor
Chevrolet- Sales pitch…… 1972 K5 Blazer retro. Removable top. Removable doors. V8. Shock package. 37 inch tires. Old school look….. It would smash the Bronco.
I saw a stock base model a couple days ago, and it really looks like Ford went well out of their way to make it looks soooooo bad..... the pictures on their website are okay.... but man, they made it look wimpy on purpose.
