That thing is INSANE! I knew several guys back in the day who flipped those things when they had straight 6's and 289 V8's. The simple physics of the short wheelbase, narrow track, and high center of gravity with that much horsepower. I sure hope it handles better than those old ones did!
@@michaelbullington3182 that might be too dangerous, he can't start behind the wheel for sure, but once introduced to the absurdity maybe he can drive home.
When Jay started driving and you could hear that thing roar and lift the front it made me laugh just from watching. Can't imagine driving that monster.
I had a good friend in HS in the 80s who drove an early 70s square body Bronco with the 302 CI engine, orange with white top and the white wagon wheels riding on off-road tires. What a machine. I still think about that ride today. Nicely done.
That saddle brown interior is by far my favorite. I ended up going that route when restoring my Mercedes 300TD wagon I use for a daily, it's a mix of mostly black and brushed aluminum panels/trim mixed with the faux leather similar to how the newer Mercedes with the saddle brown/black combo is done. The wagon is Turbo OM606 + 603 mechanical pump swapped but it's tuned to be as good a balance of performance I could get while minimizing all smoke short of a little when slamming the throttle. Redone suspension gives it a smooth ride to go with the comfy interior and solid/simple powertrain that gets really good fuel economy.
With the high center of gravity, short wheelbase and high horsepower, you'll flip this thing sure as 💩! 💯 Take it easy in this thing Jay! (I know I really don't have to tell you that.) We want you around for a while! 😄

I owned a 65 and a 71. The 71 was my first vehicle I owned. Had factory 302, we swapped out for a 351. Should of never sold it, guy who bought it took it and destroyed it in rock quarry. The 65 was years later, was a piece of junk I bought for $300. Had to rebuild the original 265 and it run like a top. I sold it to wife's nephew, he put new body on it, etc. These guys done exactly what I always wanted to do making a true sleeper truck. Outstanding job Jay and everyone involved in this project.

I enjoy, Jay's enjoyment of his toys, he's as giddy as a schoolgirl, I was cracking up.
Same!
Yeah, I'm not really into cars, but I watch religiously because his passion inspires me. I have passion for the stock market and classical guitar, but it's the same thing as his passion for cars.
This may be the most hilarious car in Jay's collection. I would love him to make a video of other drivers faces when he outdrags them from stop lights!
Sadiq Mohamed On par with the Sho-Gun 😄
I love first gen Broncos. Always did. Back in the early 70's that's all I wanted. Bought a '74 CJ5 with a 304, 3 speed and side pipes. It was a death trap on the highway, but I loved it. Wished I never sold it. This Bronco is awesome, love the growl of the Coyote.
Uh oh, I could almost hear Tim the Tool man grunts.
His giggle when he gets on it is priceless....😎
I still enjoy watching Jay Leno on this channel and his Tonight show years. I remember when you first became the new host of "The Tonight Show", I was there for the second show when they had Harrison Ford on the show. The taping ended and they let the audience stay for about 2 more hours as they filmed commercials for the show. Jay came on talk to us and signed autographs. It was a blast. Thanks Jay for a great run of The tonight Show, and Thanks for this channel too.
That Bronco is a Frankenstein freak and it's beautiful!
So it's not just me … I thought it looked black, too. Cool either way.
Mxsmanic not just you, lighting fail yet awesome nonetheless
@@terranempire2 yeah the lighting was terrible. Especially when they did close ups with Jay and the engine bay... Still an incredible vehicle 👌
It was like an awesome surprise seeing that deep blue
Allen www.thedrive.com/news/30858/jay-lenos-1968-ford-bronco-is-powered-by-a-shelby-gt500-supercharged-v-8-engine it’s blue.
If you were visiting Jay would he set up lights along with the camera? It feels like we're just visiting and Jay is showing us 1 of his cars..... Maybe he can open his next video with a monologue?
That thing is INSANE! I knew several guys back in the day who flipped those things when they had straight 6's and 289 V8's. The simple physics of the short wheelbase, narrow track, and high center of gravity with that much horsepower. I sure hope it handles better than those old ones did!
This is frigging hilarious. Man, you've got to take Craig for a ride in this thing, and please PLEASE RECORD IT!
SID THE CUSSIN' BUNNY CAM!!!
I'd say even better to have Mr. Ferguson behind the wheel.
@@michaelbullington3182 that might be too dangerous, he can't start behind the wheel for sure, but once introduced to the absurdity maybe he can drive home.
They’ve done it look it up
Yeah, but Craig would be lookin' for the wheel on the other side!!!
I have no words...I will say this though, I have never been tempted to sale my soul for anything or anyone...but...this Bronco gives me pause. WOW!!!
That Engine sounds so damn good !
I was in a 1973 ford bronco that flipped over a cliff when I was 8. Thank God for roll bars.restored it using a 1968 bronco for body parts.
Really good mpg..... for a brick!
Oh man a built 300d is the best car in thr world im certain!
That video ranks 001/001... first in class, only one in class. Beautiful!
I love the pandemic episodes with just Jay but this Bronco deserves a shoot with a full crew and proper camera work.
I reckon it's high time youtube gave us a "LOVE" icon to click on.
I LOVE THIS THIS THING, bloody awesome Jay.
With the high center of gravity, short wheelbase and high horsepower, you'll flip this thing sure as 💩! 💯 Take it easy in this thing Jay! (I know I really don't have to tell you that.) We want you around for a while! 😄
Now there is a 450 wrangler
That rig is the most awesome thing I've seen in years, and the sound at full-song is incredible! VERY COOL! I want to see Jay take Craig for a ride! I can hear him now..
I remember sitting in one on the showroom floor at Geary Ford in San Francisco in 1966 when my dad bought his 66 mustang convertible.
That Bronco is mint condition would be worth $500,000
Cool!
This is one of the best things I’ve seen on UA-cam. Jay wins. You had me at the title.
My dad owned a 75 bronco when he lived in Big Bear CA back in the early 80s.
I loved that truck.
So much fun to drive with the top off.
I'm personally waiting for the day when Jay decides he has to many cars, and auctions them at Mecum as the 'Jay Leno Collection'
I will be there with a briefcases stuffed with cash.
I have a dream of owning a few of his Bugattis.
I love the type 37 and 40.
When possible, Jay should take Craig Ferguson for "the ride of his life" in this thing. ;)
But he should take his heart medicine ..the way Jay drive will kill him lol
.. reminiscent of that Henry Ford II joyride scene from Ford vs Ferrari ....
Craig is a commie dem.
He actually did that on Jay Leno's Garage (the NBC show) for Season 6 Episode 6 :)
sus
Sweet! In 1970, I bought a 1967 Shelby GT500 for $1725. Low miles and PERFECT condition. Wish I still had it!
My uncle had one back in the mid 70's, crashed it into a school bus and killed 8. It was a beaut!
@@ColAlbSmi bruh
@@ColAlbSmi Now that IS SAD. Mine was blue with a black interior. I'm in Arizona and not having A/C in that Shelby, it got "warm" inside. Still wished I had it today. Hope your uncle wasn't hurt. Sold mine in 1973 (gas "shortages") Two guys showed up to buy it. Was asking $2400 and the first guy (a Doctor) bought it "on the spot," then sold it to the second guy (a lawyer) for $3000. lol
Incredible. I love stories like this. Thanks for sharing.
@@MS-dp3py thanks man
I absolutely love sleepers.
I'm smiling nonstop whens he's driving it!!!
Just watching Jay drive this and the fun he was having made me smile from ear to ear.
Jay you make me smile what a ride.
" So I live in a hilly area so I need that extra power to get me over the hills" LOL
Jay's best line in the video " You could get in a lot of trouble with this. " Almost fell out of my chair laughing.
God damn it 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
IF they could find the body-parts!!
That Bronco is a beautiful beast. My 89 is so jealous. Thank you Jay
I'd love to see him do an episode with Craig Ferguson showing off all the stuff they did to his old Bronco.
They did haha it was actually a recent episode
@@JBS7551 Cool. I had to google it and looks like its just on CNBC right now.
I smiled the whole way through this video.
Then Jay cackled while he stepped on the gas.
Made my day. Thanks Jay.
Every time I see one of Jay's cars, I say "that's my dream car.... no THAT'S my dream car... No THAT one..."
The Covid edition's are actually Jay's best shows. I just enjoy his stories. Go Pat's! :)
Murph couldnt agree more Sir.Here we go STEELERS, here we go!!!
By far the coolest thing shown on this UA-cam channel so far! Beautiful!
Always liked the older Broncos just never found a deal. Only word for this one is, "WICKED" Thanks for sharing Mr. Leno.☺
👊
One of those "Good to Be Jay Leno projects." -- He looks like a little kid getting his jollies in that super-cool Bronco!
Love the smile on Jays face when he drives it,,, 😂👍
It's really a Sleeper! Stock on the outside. Restomod on the inside! Ford and Leno. A great combination! 760 hp. Wow! Sounds beautiful. Shawn.
This is an impressive build-well done ladies and gentlemen! Thanks for sharing Jay!
Jay I've seen a lot of your videos and I've never seen you smile like that, this Bronco has definitely impressed you, congratulations on an awesome build
Got chills listening to that engine. I'm so not a car guy, I just enjoy this show. Jay Leno is a legend.
Same
That’s amazing I love the power, manual transmission and the fact that it still looks like a bronco . great job 👍🏻
Jey Leno is working with Ford to generate hype for the upcoming 2021 Bronco! Lol... Well played, Ford.. Well played lol
Jay on the ridiculous 760 hp: "if I had this car at 16, I'd be dead at 18, or 17, or 16.5" 😂😂😂
The super-short wheelbase made these Very tippy! I almost killed myself in one with a 302 in my twenties.
Maybe OJ would've escaped if he'd had this Bronco
😂😂😂😂
It wasn’t his glove 🧤
The one time a bronco DIDN'T roll over was the day OJ initiated a high speed chase.😭 That could have been a dark advertisement in Ford's favor back then...
Remember, OJ didn't drive that day. He was a holding himself Polish hostage.
Richard Smith how is someone supposed to get a glove on when they are wearing sticky latex gloves?
2:25 If Ford was using in-house engineering resources to figure out a manual + "Predator" engine solution, that would seem promising for a stick GT500...
Yup!
Unfortunately, not gonna happen.
Not gonna happen. The manual transmission is a thing of the past😕👎
Fortunately , not gonna happen.
Not. The electronic shifting is proved faster and better than humans can do it. Just accept the fact. Manual is....dead in the future. The future is now.
I miss the hell out of my 68 Bronco. It was stolen from my grandparents driveway when I was over fighting in the Gulf War. I was 19 years old then and I'm 51 now and still think about it all these years later. I love Jays Bronco . Nicest I have ever seen. Nice
I love the look of the old broncos, and his one has a heart to match... excellent machine.
Just needs chrome grill.
I say maybe Ford should make a “Jay Leno” edition Ford Bronco! Him being quite a big name among car enthusiasts I think it will sell as “ Hot Cookies”! That leather color and body color combination is just killer!
Good point
Not leather it'll need blue denim lol
I love Jay Leno. He reminds me of my one and best friend from childhood, Jay Weimer. They have the same smile and happy laugh + the same irrepressible personality. And this is my favorite Jay Leno car yet. I watch them all and appreciate everything Jay says in these videos. After I watched him drive his black and orange gt leMans winning Ford, I cried and said, "God bless Jay and his beautiful car." And I meant it.
I love listening to Jay talk about cars his enthusiasm level is intoxicating he truly loves automobiles of every era " this motor was put in here with a shoe horn 😂"
Just incredible Mr Leno! Brought a smile to my face watching this. Lovely.
That thing is amazing!
