I am so incredibly pumped for this new line. As a '90s kid who discovered MOTU and loved it--and got WAY into Classics--I love the idea that there will essentially be a revival line with minicomics at retail, so I can feel the excitement that kids in the '80s did buying Masters. This interview is great and I can't wait to see more coverage as SDCC goes on!

I'm very happy we're getting new MOTU figures. The original line was my absolute favorite when I was a kid. Also, A + for the effort to be stealthy for the guy in the background :)

I kinda wish the Kevin Smith's Netflix Show does serve as a Tie-In to this Toyline, and have the characters modeled after the Origins Toyline.
Super excited for this line! Slightly disappointed it’s not being based on the mini comics like the sdcc exclusive. Maybe it’ll be an option if the line is successful. I like the idea of retail but am also worried that low retail sales could end the line prematurely. Hopefully this will be the start of a full line complete with vehicles and play sets!
I wonder if well get the vintage he-man head with the retail release as well as the wide range of interchangeable hands that the sdcc set got with every figure release or if they're not gonna give us those options.

Great news!!! About the movie
A few years ago I had a pretty low opinion of Mattel but lately they're knocking it out of the park with their toylines. Jurassic World, Toy Story and now these are all really great toys and fairly priced too. Mattel seem to really be putting the effort in now and not just thinking they can rely on Hot Wheels and Barbie.
I came for the toys and stayed for the guy in the back hahaha!

It’s about sell , but I like this evolution. This New figures with articulation looks so great. I think this MOTU new series is far from young fans so at the same time, for old fans it is good because He-Man is like a underground figure but it will great this line to become huge like Funko because dustribution and low price, great video Dan!!!

As long as Mattel doesn't pull a Hasbro and replace "origins" with movie tie-in figures... Then cancel the whole line when the sales drop.
I think you're confusing Hasbro with somebody else. If you're talking about the line I'm thinking of they hot that license after that movie toy dales bombed.

It is good to be see Masters Of The Universe with Mattel back again. Hoping the restart with all figures vintage style like He-Man... Prince Adam... Skeletor... Wish Mattel will bring some original Princess of Power vintage toys as commemoratives still missing the Star Sisters!

This is what has me concerned. Still a lot of figures to get to in the Club Grayskull line. If Super7 can't make figures because of a retread line I will not be happy and probably won't support this.
Super7 still has the MOTU license. They're on a freeze because of the movie. Brian covered this with Pixel Dan in an interview at either SDCC or Power-Con. They'll fire back up soon with Club Grayskull and 5.5
It's good that they're doing it at a decent price cause the original series a little before my time however I love the show and the characters from the original series the best and a lot too, had these have been expensive it would have been a no go for me but because they're pricing them at a really great price they're gonna sell more to the casual fans too so it's great! I hope they do a blue Faker like the original and some of the other rarer characters as well as of course the regular one's.

Great interview as always. However, there is one question I really need answered before getting excited about this new line. Do they have the action gimmicks like the original toys (ie Buzzsaw Hordak, Battle Armor Skeletor, Snout Spout, Roboto, Mosquitor, etc.)?

Was there any info about how many figures they plan to launch the line with and who made the cut? Or is that something they plan to reveal more about as the weekend continues?
2 more shown today and tomorrow tomorrow are scheduled. They've shown Man-At-Arms, Teela, EvlLyn, Beast Man on Instagram so I'm assuming it's those.
Will this line be replacing MOTU Classics? Or will they co-exist? Either way,I'm hyped for this new line and I'm so glad these are a retail release too! I really do hope that they succeed in introducing the MOTU franchise to a new generation.

Dan, you did a great job as usual trying to get some info for us! Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like they wanted to share much of anything that hasn't already been reported with the exception of maybe the price point and interchangeability.
If they are killing classics for this line, they won't get my money. If they keep Classics alive running parallel to this, I'll support both. Someone needs to let Ruben know that there are still tons of figures that should be done in Classics!

@@chadbankston8123 Mattel has the master license because it's their IP. Classics began with Mattel and Super 7 only took it over once Matty Collector was closing. Mattel has begun restricting what Super 7 can do with the license.

There's no pre-order. This is retail - on the shelf.

Several interviews and podcasts. Not 100% that they won't sell online - they very well could. But they are not doing pre-order. These will hit the retail market just like their regular items.
