To each his own I wouldn’t do it to an auto but since my Mazda 3 is manual it sounds good lol I paid like $52 for res delete while I was getting my hangers welded on cuz they were all rotted or missing I didn’t have to do it myself and was cheap still lol and the car sounds nice

hey ya the one i got from the shop was 2 inch and it sit flush with the old one. The 2.25 didnt allow it to seal properly. I would say if ur gonna do it make sure u have a perfect fit the first time so u know u made it worth while!

good question. Ive read somewhere that mine had two has well but when i get under there i dont see a second one, just the muffler i cut off, the resonator i cut off and the CAT. Unless im mistaking the CAT for Resonator #2. if you have a firestone in your area, take ur car for a $10 vehicle inspection (which is good to do anyways) and when they have the car lifted, ask them where ur resonators are. they should be more than happy to help.

You have two cats; one built into the exhaust headers and the second one is somewhere in the middle of the exhaust. My 2006 Mazda 3 has that set up from the factory.
So someone cut off my resonator thinking they were stealing my cat; I found on ebay a cat/resonator for 130 bucks is this the correct part to replace to fix the issue? I have to pass my emissions for NY and I wanna make sure before I order the part.
I would order an oem resonator bc in NY all cars must have mufflers and cannot allow sound levels higher than 15 decibels more than the ambient sound in which the vehicle is being driven I got that off the internet so I hope that helps and that’s just playing it safe. If you want to make your car sound better do it

honestly, this car can be loud but not loud enough to piss off a cop at low rpm. I removed the muffler and resonator. if i could id start over id remove cat then muffler since those are the most restrictive. But then itd be louder probably enough to annoy a cop

Only way to throw a code with exhaust is to cut the cat out thats being monitored. You can delete the second cat all the way back without tripping anything

@@jonesvaughn8946 if it sounds good then great, but just be aware that straight piping is fun but you will get annoyed by the rasp and how loud it gets. The most you’ll get is maybe a “pop” but it’s not even a pop. Id recommend gettin a catback system in the long run. Assuming you own a Mazda3, Corksport would be a great place to start

@@Richy.R6 I have a 2.5 swap 1st gen non turbo yet. The 2.5 is stronger than the 2.3 with slightly bigger rods and slightly thicker block but you’d need the speed 3 transmission to hold that power. I think the regular trans can hold 8-10 pounds before it blows
