  • Tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets across Israel after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired his defence minister.
Yoav Gallant had spoken out against controversial plans to overhaul the justice system.
In Jerusalem, police and soldiers used water cannon against demonstrators near Mr Netanyahu's house.
Early on Monday morning, Israel's President Isaac Herzog called on the government to halt the reforms.

@@hus390 Well, Of course not. That sounds terrible! But it is also, luckily, not the case in Israel since the Coalition always has a veto on appointing judges. Since the almost 12 years of Bibi in office, the Coalition appointed many of their chosen judges with almost no rejections at all. Besides, appointing judges is only one of many other things that the government wishes to change, which as a whole, breaks the balances and breaks that define any modern democracy. I will also remind you that Israel has no constitution, and thus basic rights are not protected and the knesset already wishes to pass laws that are in direct violation to women's rights and freedom of religion. We can't take away breaks and balances before creating others!

The Palestinians and Israeli-Arabs would be the first to get hurt if the supreme court goes down, so its unfortunate that so many of them refuse to care about the protests or declare the ones that join the protests as traitors. They could organize their own protests about that since they don't want to join but they don't care to do that either cause they don't seem to care much for democracy.

And even if most people here are not living here for years like my own family, they all have their uniqe story, some came here from arab countries like some people in my family came from Iraq in the times of WWII after getting death threats from their muslim neighbors (and many jews were killed in Iraq back then) so they ran away to this land to save themselves, who wouldn't? It's the only place they could go back then. And also people came here after surviving the holocaust since their houses were taken and traumatized by europe.. and don't forget dreaming 2000 years of coming back ever since the Roman deported us.. so I'm aware we did wrong with the arabs who live here. (Not me but the government tho) and I have palestinian friends we live together in peace and love each other, recognizing each other's pain. For examle when a terror attack happened in my street (by a palestinian), my Palestinian friend was the first person to call me and check if I'm ok.. and I support her when injustice for palestinians happens. all of my jewish Israeli friends support all human rights. And about the jews who are only here for 3 generations, you can't send them back to where they came from because we were victims of hate all around the world. So if you’re talking about Arab Muslims and saying their treatment is racist, the above should suffice to disprove you. The problem is actually that Arab Muslims want Islamic rule and to rid Israel of Jews. They want to restore their dominant status in society and make Jews and non Muslims Dhimmi people again. That’s why Jews, Christians, Druze all support Israel while Muslims oppose it. You’re trying to paint the conflict as racial, when in reality it’s religious.

Hi I'm a Jewish Israeli, my family been here since we were deported from Spain for being jewish I think it was more than 500 years ago.. so you can't say I'm not belong here. Moreover, It's a fact that we are connected to this land since the Roman expelled us, I also had family in Iraq but the muslims there tried to kill them so the left to Israel to save their own lives. Also people who survived the holocaust had no where to go since their houses were taken, so they came here after 2000 years dreamingof coming back. I know my people did wrong with the palestinians, if it was up to me I would make it up to them and spread love, give them money and houses back and try to live together, and you should know that many ppl in the protest (Israeli Jews) shouting for Palestinian rights. I know it since I've been there and saw first hand. So you should know that. Life is more complicated than you think. All I want is people to love each other, I could hate all people since someone dear to me died in a terror attack by a palestinian. And many terror attacks accured in my city lately including 2 children who died last month. But I still know that life is not black and white and I can't hate a group for the action of some of them. So please consider open your heart for a group that you supposed to hate and see that we are all people with our own uniqe story❤

Second, soldiers were on the street with the police. Not good. I noticed that one of the police officers pushed a protestor around, to prevent them from going to wherever they were headed. It did not work, so he flipped her the middle finger. Not good either. Just don't hand out live ammunition to the police or soldiers, or the veterans will come back with their own weapons and the shooting will be in ernest. . . . .

yk an israeli dictatorship and expirations to become an empire is the worst thing that can happen to neighboring arabs cause we would just kill of them and expand farther and wider.
while under current israeli rule they have the best life an arab can have in the middle east thriving with democracy. read about it a bit monkey

    Oppression
    Oppression
    Oppression
    Oppression
    🎶
Who, day and night, must scramble for a living,
Feed a wife and children, say his daily prayers?
And who has the right, as master of the house,
To have the final word at home?
    The Papa, the Papa! Oppression.

Ask who? Netanyahu ? He is accused of multiple cases of corruption, seems like he thinks changing the court system would let him do what he wants . It would also let the Settler terrorists and orthodox do whatever they want and he needs their votes to stay in power. That is a recipe for a theocracy like in Iran.
