    As British Born Chinese I feel super disconnected from my culture, especially with losing my mothertongue going to English schools and my mother not keeping my Mandarin up. Watching your home vlogs has really inspired me to relearn and hopefully one day I'll feel I'm able to visit my true home and be more in touch with my heritage. It's wonderful seeing you both still try to stay connected to your roots. Your videos make me happy and you're such a warm, caring person deserving of so much good & happiness, and you & Leo are just the best couple. All the love to you x

      equi m same but it's mostly of me losing my mother tongue. It's the most disappointing thing in your life when you can't speak fluently like you used to with your family in your language :( but at least I still can speak it but not as much.

      My daughters are half Chinese. Her grandparents are from Hong Kong. I want very much for her to learn Cantonese but even though I live in the SF Bay Area, I cannot find any Chinese schools that teach it. They only offer mandarin. Her father speaks Cantonese but mostly English at home. It makes me sad to see their culture dying out in her generation. The good, music, language, traditions. I do try to teach her some but I’m white American and I feel kind of like a wannabe?

    China has always felt like another home to me. When I’m there I instantly get this feeling. My parents were born and raised in China but I wasn’t and I go every 6-7 years because it’s expensive. Since I have to wait so long I always get feelings of nostalgia and I miss it so much so I’ve been looking for Vlogs that capture that feeling for me and I think this one definitely hit the spot for me ❤️

    • @marzipanwhispers
      @marzipanwhispers 7 років тому +15

      Yeah it's so irritating how many YT girls just don't take the time to credit the artists they use. Part of what makes the mood of her videos so great is the music, and those artists deserve to be known.

    • @goodboi8569
      @goodboi8569 7 років тому +10

      Unfortunately not a lot of people have the habit of crediting musicians since their work is usually just "backdrop", but it's definitely an issue that needs to be pointed out - especially someone with this much exposure. Tbh it's probably some form of copyright infringement if the artist wasn't paid or gave permission for use. But the least you could do would be to link to their work.

    aaah your video made me feel so nostalgic bc i haven't bee to my homecountry in so many years. i was born is manaus, brazil and i think my favorite childhood memories are the hot wind at night when me and my family used to go in a huuuge park near a river and have ice cream there at night and going on spontaneous road trips to the airport and eat there, haha. i moved away when i was still a kid and try to not think about my home too much, bc it just makes me sad to have moved away. but now i think i shouldn't ignore those memories, they're a part of me that i love :).

    love seeing you taking public transportation!! sometimes HK youtubers look way too rich and watching their vlogs are basically seeing them taking taxis or driving their own car :( so unrealistic to ordinary people
