Insanely well explained drum lesson! Thanks a bunch bro 🔥
🙌🔥🙌
It's fun being able to interpret and analyze drum sheet music, as it allows to be creative with coming up with your own beats once you understand what each symbol means, as well as the rhythms involved. Cheers man
Indeed! Thanks for watching, bud!🙌🔥

Can you explain the 16th note dotted bass drum notation with the broken beam.
I explain dotted notes in my video before this one!
Check my playlist on Sight Reading 😃
Waitaminute! You start off your first "really simple drum groove" at 2:01 with a crash but it's not on the notation. Are you testing us here???? 😀

What software do you use to write your notation out? MuseScore4? Is there something better designed for drummers?
Yes, I use MuseScore. As far as I know, there aren't any writing-softwares specifically for drummers - and MuseScore works just as well as Finale or Sibelius.
@@ThatSwedishDrummer awesome! You’re the man. Thank you! 🤘🏻
@@ThatSwedishDrummer_ nice, whatcha got?
Hi. The notation in 9.00 for example makes no sense in my opinion.
Why do you give a value to the bass drum when it does not sum in 4/4?
When you just wanna see where the bass drum is, then you may just write down heads without stems and value. Why writing down a value that is not correct?
The best way to read this kind of exercises will be one system ( stems up ) or two systems ( HH Sn / BD ).
The seperate BD in 2 systems has the benefit that you may read it ( and practice it ) seperate.
No one can play the BD just looking at your BD notation. Write rests in there!
Greetings Tom Peroutka.
I usually write transcripts the way you explain it, but since this lesson is about knowing the notation - I kept them seperate.
Both ways are equally exceptable, and since hi-hat and snare drum fills the subdivision, I feel rests aren't necessary to write.
My writing program wouldn't correct it, so the note values are still correct.
Thanks for your input though! 🔥
