I’ve been playing for 25 years and I come to your videos when I need inspiration for new drum fills when my go to’s get old on me. Thanks for the tips bro. Your videos are the greatest.
Not necessarily. Don't get me wrong, it's not simple at all - but neither is violin, accordion or flute for example. I believe anyone can learn any instrument, but it takes practice, patience and perseverance to play beautifully on any instrument.
@@phaedraforcet4808I think I'd have to agree. At least, to get to the point where you're proficient at it. I've put time into other instruments and managed to get to the point where I can play them reasonably well, but the struggle pails in comparison with drums. This is the Mt. Everest of musical instruments. 🏔
Whenever our twin boys are to play at a concert, we look up your drum fills to enrich the songs. This time we're looking for some fills for "Enter Sandman" and "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Thanks!
The first one is so nice because of the phrasing. The second one: I would leave out some notes sometimes (play only a1, a2 etc.). The third fill would come at the end of a song or in a solo because it is so dense (at least to me since I like space). I am a greta fan of your content but I miss some crucial information. What is the proper musical context for these gadgets? You can learn so many licks, fills, and chops and still sound crappy when you don`t have enough knowledge about song structures, musical genres, and so forth.
Thanks for the kind words! How and when you apply the fills is up to the viewer. Depending on the music you play, you can decide for yourself when and where to play a fill, how to phrase it and the dynamics you use. The best way to definitely test them out is to play with a band and try them out in songs. If it works, it works. If it doesn’t, try something else.

(Also, more content is on the way)
@@ThatSwedishDrummer I mean RL KK do that on the drum for makossa
Are those just paiste pst3??
No I use an array of different Paiste cymbals, such as 2002's, Signature Traditionals Thin, Masters Thin, Formula 602 ME etc.
@ThatSwedishDrummer ok cool. They sound great. I'm thinking of switching from meinls. Paiste sound so good.
Yeah, do it! Depending what sound you like, I'd really go for the Masters or the Formula 602 Modern Essentials
I think my hands are faster than a train 😂😂
