- Do you want to learn some awesome Linear Grooves? Then you're watching the perfect video! In this drum lesson I'm teaching you 3 linear grooves that any drummer can learn with just a bit of practice.
We drummers usually start with layered grooves, which is stacking the drum parts on each other - but linear grooves you play one limb at a time, so the grooves can get some more flow to them.

Tony Royster jr. played it with a very cool shuffle feel ....
Great stuff man, love those groovy patterns, quite sophisticated and nuanced but not impossible to learn

Well, i´m a guitarist, but i love drumming too! nice lesson
Thank you kindly!!
You are making this guitarist a better drummer! Thank you
Thanks a bunch, bud! 😊
Thank you, these are great. I am a new/old drummer wonna-be (57 years old, just started drumming 2 months ago. You are one of my best teachers...). I wonder if you can put these in a musical context . As a beginner, I find it hard to connect the linear grooves to a song/musical piece. Thanks!
Thank you for the kind words!
You can definitely try these in many musical concepts, but since you're fairly new to drumming - I'd work on the basics a bit more before tackling linear chops.
Stay awesome!!
I absolutely love linear grooves! Really fun ways to articulate accents and independence overall. Cheers man!
Me too! They flow totally different from stacked grooves and they can really bring out a whole new creative side :D
@@ThatSwedishDrummer Could not have said it better myself! Cheers
Sounds great! Thanks for sharing as usual!

Which drum notation software do you use?
MuseScore🙌
I am officially a member how do I get the transcription I do see anything to click on except transcript thanks
There's a Google Drive-link in the member community tab, which leads to a zip-file. Open the zip file and you'll get a folder with click tracks, drum tracks and the transcriptions.
Where’s the member tab! That gives us the inside info 😢
Go to the Community Tab on my channel's home page. Since you're a member, you'll see posts that are for members only where you'll find the link to the downloadable content.
Plus, next to the Community Tab - there should be a Membership Tab, you'll find the posts there as well.
I see the blue hair, I click
👊🔥
do we skip some hihat intentionally?
Yeah! Linear drumming means that all drums/cymbals are played independently, so no limbs play at the same time 😊
To be honest, the last one was a bit generic.
Can’t please everyone 🤷♂️
