CJ, love how you hold the rhythm, work the kit right then left, mixing singles, doubles, and rolls with interesting dynamics. Fun for me to see you express yourself. Good stuff. Thanks Ed
Man that sounds freaking amazing, love the cut of the 8 & 10 inch toms. Beautiful Kit, excellent playing. Sonor must be so happy they have one talented young player. Congrats! Love it from Nashville!
The sound on these drums are awesome dude. The snare really cracks through beautifully. Last but not least I do like your type and style of playing it’s very inspiring 🎉🎉
I’m at least gonna try it all! So far, the cymbal stands and tom arms are extremely strong and durable, and I haven’t gotten the pedals yet - but I’m gonna try a few different models. If I like the feel of ‘em, I’m sure to keep using them 🙌🔥
Who started this trend with the timp drum to the left of the hi hat? Its so hack now and unoriginal. I even see the master Dave Weckl has followed suit in recent years. This world is turning hard and fast into outright mimickery. YOUR kit is YOUR station...YOUR control center. Make it your own. It amuses me how easily people fall in line with trends. With that said...I enjoy this kids playing and dedication to his craft. Congrats on your rising success. You deserve it son.
His or the viewers left? The 8" Tom and the side snare have been around for years and are almost exclusively used by Fusion/RnB Drummers. I rarely see them outisde of these styles. I would argue that it's rather something more unique vs the very traditional and common 3 piece Ringo-style kits or the standard 4 piece kits. Also he wouldn't have gotten these drums if he doesn't enjoy them. No trend, no mimickery. Just a passionate drummer who build his dreamkit with his dream company. 👍
First, thanks for the kind words! I really appreciate it 😃 Second, as you say - it’s MY kit, so I’ll set it up however I like and how it fits my anatomy. If you don’t like the setup, then absolutely don’t use this setup - but the more important question is: why would it be important to have an “original” drum setup? Everything has been done anyway 🤗

Your style is very similar to Ralph Shoemaker/digital-drummer. I like the delayed overtone on your auxiliary snare. Nice kit and groove. 🥁

I appreciate your kind words, bud!’🙌🔥
can you teach us how to tune a drum set? your sounds amazing before this new drumset but ima say this is an upgrade. nice sounds soothing to my ears.
I might do a tuning video later this year when I change heads 🤗
Those drums are singing!
🥁🎶🔥
Oh! Mate!
It's sound good! 🎉
Thanks! 😃 glad you like it!!
Nice I have to say I love your original kit sound better keep up the great work
That KiT WAS BUILT WITH SISU ❤
Great sounding kit brother. I do need to know: What heads do you use? Which Paiste cymbals do you use?
Great vid.
Im using the stick Remo-heads on the drums (ambassadors at the moment), and you can check out my Paiste cymbals in the description 🤘🔥
How is the sound of the Sonor kit compared to the Pearl kit? To me they both sound awesome.
To me, Sonor has a much more defined attack in their sound because of their slightly undersized shells. The tone also sounds different 🤟🔥
So Siick!!! 🤟🔥
NICE!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Far out .... Personaly I love the sharp and still warm sound of the SQ1 ... but may I ask: what tuning is your snare?
I often tune my snares fairly high. I never use something like a tunebot or dial tune, only by ear and feel.
Love your drumming dude! do you drum in any bands I could check out?
Thanks!
And yeah, you can check out Louise Lemón, SCARLET and Midway ^^
Exzellent sound, @CJ, especially the toms. Can you post the hz of batter & Resi heads?
I never use a tune bot or drum dial, I always tune by ear and feel ✌️🔥
Sweet as a bloody nut mate, beautiful sounds.
👊🔥
lotta good sticking ideas
Glad you think so!
Yes , Uncle Mike.
🤘🔥
🤘
Will you repace all the hardware with Sonor? Even pedals?
I’m at least gonna try it all! So far, the cymbal stands and tom arms are extremely strong and durable, and I haven’t gotten the pedals yet - but I’m gonna try a few different models.
If I like the feel of ‘em, I’m sure to keep using them 🙌🔥
You gotta have a sides snare. Just more voices.
👊🔥
Congratulation
🙌🔥
hello CJ, soon the 14 floor tom?
For this kit, I’m getting an 18” floor tom ✌️🔥
Good
Thanks🤘🔥
❤😊
Solos should be traditional grip :)
That's subjective
sounds good but maybe it you've used those heads a long time it will sounds much better than now..
Gott ljud!
🙌🔥

I’m not sure the timp drum to the left is a new thing. I used it back in the 90s.
