What did they like about each one? What did they wish went better? Follow along with the conversation, filmed just after completing Kenneth's lift.

    Most of the time, I have no idea which kit you guys are talking about.

    Thanks guys! Just ran across this. Hopefully it's still performing well!

      It has indeed! Kenneth is very happy with his full MC lift on Blue. If you look, the second most recent video is 5 of our builds on the CTI trailer, filmed at EJS and Denver, with Edge Automotive. You'll see just how awesome Kenneth's flex is! And we are lengthening Penny's front shocks right now--I should finally be able to break 990!

    Metalcloak control arms have the most mis-alignment of all the other kits. That's just a fact that can be researched by anyone. All the kits you mentioned have good reputations, but most flex for the buck it's hard to beat Metalcloak. Feel free to check out my Grey JLUR on my channel (kinda long video) but I have several flexy moments. Mine is 5 inch fabtec springs (settled to just over 4.5 inches), Metalcloak full control arm sets (painted black), front teraflex control arm lowering brackets (for the smooth long arm ride) along with Metalcloaks rear DB3 rear control arm lowering brackets as well (again, for the long arm ride and flex) all on 38X13.5X17 Pat's. I also have the rocksport 30 inch long travel shocks. Oh, and I absolutely love that blue on your jeep, my favorite color of all time.

      But the track bar geometry is utter crap. Also, no clearance for 37” spare underneath. They’re not there quite yet.

    I’m between Clayton and Tera and May mix them together. Mainly track bar brackets I want to keep things flatter.

    Thanks for the video… Can you give any updates on how the lifts drives and which one you guys like best? Pros and cons?

      Oh, great question! I tell you what--we're shooting a couple videos this weekend. I'll get the guys to film an update on these lifts as well, so they can really go into your inquiry in depth. I hope we can get Chris over for this, too!

    Hi guys. Great video. Any thoughts or recommendations for me? I have a 2024 two door V6 automatic Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and would like a 2 to 2.5 inch lift. 80/20 highway or town vs off-road. I would like a complete kit with all control arms and shocks too.

      Will you do the install yourself? If so, any of the three we have tried are good. If not, find a good shop to do thr install and go with what they recommend.

      @@thegrimmjeeper I will have a shop do it. Just trying to decide which one I want. The Clayton 2.5 with Fox or the MetalCloak 2.5 with Rocksports.

    What can you tell us about the warranties of each lift?

    • @karoffroad
      @karoffroad  Рік тому

      I don't know that any of us bought the lifts for the warranties, but it is something to think about. Across most manufacturers, the warranties are for manufacturers defects only. Metalcloak's opening lines of its warranty are, "All MetalCloak products are warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship for one year from the original purchase date. All products produced by MetalCloak are designed exclusively for off road applications and therefore do not have any warranty or guarantee of performance." That second sentence is fairly represented across the industry. Teraflex's warranty length varies by product purchased, but in general reads," This limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship of the TeraFlex product purchased by you (the “product”) for the Warranty Period as defined below." Clayton's is worded generally as, "Clayton Off Road Inc. suspension systems come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty on all control arms and track bars against bending or breaking to the original purchaser only." There are lots of additional details and requirements in the warranty from each manufacturer, so it's best to review each on your own. Hopefully this helps!

      @@karoffroad thank you, it does! I appreciate the effort on that as well! I’m torn between Clayton and metal cloak and have seen great reviews for both. I have a 21 JTR and am planning on replacing the track bars so I would like to start in one direction or the other should I replace the rest when the bank allows. Be safe!

      @@twsmith221 I think the reality is, you can't go wrong with either one. Roy thinks Kenneth's MC lift might have a tiny bit more downward reach than his Clayton, but this was said before he upgraded the LCAs and went to longer shocks. They're pretty even now--watch the second half of the Christmas Caravan for Kids video. That's the first time Blue and Red have been flexed since Roy's upgrade. Penny blew them both out of the water, but, well, duh... ;-)

    I bought a 2.5 Clayton lift which they put together for me for my 2021 Gladiator diesel rubicon. I am so disappointed in it as they gave me 3” front springs to take up the difference in the diesel weight well it hits bump stops all the time even in town going slow. The rear the shock are too long and the brake lines stretch out and needed replaced but denied by Clayton. Also the sway bar connectors are already corroded and not even a year. And all denied by Clayton and it all being my fault. Don’t go there. They do not supply a good product and there help sucks.

    • @creative_partner
      @creative_partner 9 місяців тому

      Had a very different experience with Clayton than you. Been very helpful. Sounds like you may need to use smaller bump stops in the front, as you need about 4 to 5 inches of gap in between the bump stop and bump stop rest when sitting level.

    • @glenludwig9676
      @glenludwig9676 9 місяців тому

      @@creative_partner oh I agree with you but the fact is I bought the complete kit from Clayton and they should have supplied the proper bump stops and longer brake cables with the kit. And I say this because before I bought from them I had 3 or 4 conversions with them to make sure I got everything I needed in one shipment. As who wants issues and pay shipping over and over. All in all there lift is a great lift. There springs are awesome for the weight I carry. I would buy from them again but next time I would insist to them on replacing or supplying whatever issues arise.
