- This customer bought his JL Rubicon with some aftermarket parts his dealership installed. It looked really cool, but he found after a year or so of wheeling it hard that he needed some functional upgrades for the rig to keep up! This is one rig that gets heavily used, so follow along to see everything we did in this transformation.

I just added the Game Changer 2.5 to my Rubicon Recon. I haven’t tested it yet. But I’m ready to see the difference. Also added Yeti 2.5 Ton Aluminum tie Rod and drag link. Teraflex big brakes running under 17” XD 35” KO2s
Very nice build! I would've added Rock Slide engineer step slider instead and added the Rock Jock anti-rock sway bar
Wow! I only have 2.5" lift with 1.5" body lift on 37".. i think i may have to upgrade to 3.5
Very nice setup!
What are those red things on the axles in 5:02 ?
Which motor is this ? Do yours prefer the 3.6 or 2.0??
This is the 3.6! It's hard to beat the simplicity of the 3.6 but the 2.0 is also a great engine. Really up to the owner what they prefer, we see great results from both, our techs and other employees, and customers have had good experiences with both.
I'm taking my 30gs to you guys in july
Awesome!
Great build ! You guys nailed it
Thank you!
@@MountZionOffroad you bet you guys do great work
Question for you guys, my wife is looking to put 38 ridge grappler‘s on her JL however, she is running Dana 30 front Dana 35 rear! What would you recommend? She found Rubicon axles with 4.56 gears, however I think she would be okay with the stock axles that she has. Maybe reinforce the front with RCV axle shaft in the front, truss and gussets! Just curious what you would all recommend
It really depends on how she uses it! For on-road and easy off road trails, those axles will hold up fine. No matter what a truss on the front is a great idea, as the tube can bend at the CAD housing (true of the M210/D44 also). The Artec trusses are really well designed and affordable.
The Rubicon axles are probably a great deal if the gear ratio is what you want and you do plan to hit harder trails. Consider that a professional re-gear and locker package is easily $4500-5000 in the axles you have. For context, the majority of our customers running 37-40" tires do not upgrade past factory Rubicon axles/lockers/rear shafts and only re-gear and add RCVs to the front! We've done very few 1 ton axle swaps on JLs
How much did all of that cost?
