I'm a native of Montana, (presently living in Utah), and this song brings back wonderful memories of fishing some of the Montana rivers, especially the Beaverhead River, with its many bends. The song is just like the river- beautiful and peaceful. "Where the River Bends" is a masterpiece, and Michael Dowdle is a gifted, master guitarist.
Not too many people know this, but Micheal is one of the greatest smooth jazz and world music guitar players of the 80's and the 90's, he has recorded with some great names.
You are an inspiration to ALL fingerstyle players. Thank God you play melodic. That seems to be a lost art. Percussion and tapping rule the day. You are very refreshing. Thank you so very much.

I recently posted links to many of your songs at a website I joined back in 2004, it's a site with many areas of human activities from the spiritual to the political.
