- I decided to sit down today and play a little medley of some of my arrangements of Hymns of Christ. I have recorded 8 albums of Hymns through the years and love playing them! I Know Jesus Christ lives and that He is My Redeemer!
The Spirit your music brings touches my heart. I think you are the VERY best guitarist around. I've listened to you for years & it never gets old. Thank you for sharing your God given talent!!! 🎸

I have the 2 tape set called 50 Favorite Hymns. Obviously I've had it a long time but it is one of my favorite albums. I still listen to it rather often. Every track is beautiful. As an ex-guitar player I know how much work it is, and I appreciate that you took the time to record it.

Life’s been busy. I’ve had a lot going on, and not all of it good. You had kind of fallen off my radar for awhile. Then here you are in my recommended list. An old post from you, but its age is irrelivent. My spirit is lifted, my hopes renewed, a smile on my face. What an amazing, God given talent you have. Our savior lives! Thank you.
P.S. - While I’ll probably never reach your level of playing, when I listen to a Dowdle video, it makes me want to reach MY level of playing. Time to change the strings on the old Taylor.

I’ve been playing guitar for about 8 years now and I got michaels music book and trying to learn from it and these videos makes me feel like I’m learning guitar again! Haha, guess I’ll have to go back to easy stuff like Metallica and Zeppelin lol.

Beautiful playing. I recently bought one of your guitar books and have really enjoyed learning LDS hymns on the classical guitar. When I started playing classical guitar I never really considered traditional LDS music as something to be proud of around other non-religious or non-LDS musicians. When playing around friends and work colleagues I now like to slip in some LDS hymns. The older I get the more proud I am of our unique musical heritage. One of the questions I have been asking my musically minded LDS friends is, " Regarding Hymns/ songs that are exclusive to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which hymns are considered the best from a musical standpoint/critical review standpoint?" I understand answers to this question are a bit subjective. I understand you are likely too busy to respond to a random internet post. I greatly respect your opinion and am curious how you might answered this question.
You are correct that it is very subjective. But for me the Sacrament Hymns of the Church are unique and very spiritual and harmonically beautiful. I don’t pay too much attention to critics anyway. Everybody’s entitled to their opinion. Thanks for checking me out!🙏😊
