Back in the early 90's, I heard you on a SF smooth jazz station but couldn't find you in Tower Records so I special ordered Touch and From the Hip. Love them to this day. Curious to the Dumble-esk tone; what amp are you using on the video?

I'm a native of Montana, (presently living in Utah), and this song brings back wonderful memories of fishing some of the Montana rivers, especially the Beaverhead River, with its many bends. The song is just like the river- beautiful and peaceful. "Where the River Bends" is a masterpiece, and Michael Dowdle is a gifted, master guitarist.

Some people might say, “wow, fantastic! He played all the parts at once!“ But actually it’s better than that. You grabbed bits and hints and suggestions of all the various voices and wove them together into a piece of music that worked on its own while giving the impression of the original. Although the performance is technically challenging, it’s the arrangement that’s the real star here.

Been a guitar player all my life - I know this man only by the recordings I heard back on the '90's. he did a solo on another cat's album- song -" Serious Leisure "- another off his own recording " From the Hip " ---- This guy as far as tone and feel , for my money, is an absolute smoker !! Beautiful playing. I recently bought one of your guitar books and have really enjoyed learning LDS hymns on the classical guitar. When I started playing classical guitar I never really considered traditional LDS music as something to be proud of around other non-religious or non-LDS musicians. When playing around friends and work colleagues I now like to slip in some LDS hymns. The older I get the more proud I am of our unique musical heritage. One of the questions I have been asking my musically minded LDS friends is, " Regarding Hymns/ songs that are exclusive to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which hymns are considered the best from a musical standpoint/critical review standpoint?" I understand answers to this question are a bit subjective. I understand you are likely too busy to respond to a random internet post. I greatly respect your opinion and am curious how you might answered this question.

Not too many people know this, but Micheal is one of the greatest smooth jazz and world music guitar players of the 80's and the 90's, he has recorded with some great names.
