When you come here because you realized this is Ben from Umbrella academy.
I saw the thumbnail and was like "OMG" when I realised it was him AHAHAH
Lol
Same lol hahaha
Ikr i knew i knew him from somewhere
That’s why I know him somewhere
Best trashcan commercial ever
it's fancy stuff tough
yeah, and it's not even Thai
@ DarkPeep If what you're saying is true then this is the most elaborate Trashcan commercial I have ever seen.
😅 😅 😅
😂
Moral of the story: you might think adulting is about not being trashy, but it's really about being a better trashcan for whatever life throws at you.
Your words are quite motivating ❤️
Imma make this my wallpaper
ikr this is so true
That's why I'm an adult but I don't make my bed
That's Deep
I have literally cried watching this video. I am 26 and i am an absolute mess. Most of my friends are pursuing degrees abroad or earning well, have a good dating life and taking charge unlike me. I was bad academically, got fired from my job and i am in the worst shape of my life and have 0 dating life. I have failed a lot and i am failing right now as well but this video is just somewhat asking not to give up. I might fail even more after this but i won't give up. I hope you all have peace within yourself :)
How's life going now...I wanna start improving too...but I wanna hear from sm one who started a month early.🤭

Whats with the new hairstyle ben? AHAHAHAHA
If Reginald didn't adopted Ben, Ben's life would be like this.
At least he will be alive

@@cansuozdemir1068 Don't post spoilers please
armando reid if anyone is looking at this comment they prob have already watched the umbrella academy
I like how in the end he didn't end up a clone of the new boyfriend from the beginning. He found his own style, job, and way of managing his life.
I watched this 4 years ago when I was 17 years old; Now I'm 21 and this video has given me new meaning that I didn't realize when I was 17. Adulting is hard and becoming one is a process that we all must face sooner or later. The important thing is to take it one step at a time and what I learned during this pre-adult life I have is that failure is inevitable, but one thing we can control is our work ethic, and becoming the best versions of ourselves. Good luck out there everyone!
I'm 16 and scared for my life rn
I am 17 right now and I already miss my childhood. I was so productive back then Damn it!
I’m watching this as a 17 year old right now, not really sure where I’m headed. Kinda scared for the future.
@@realme0218 "Keep Moving Forward" this quote is from the movie "Meet the Robinsons" you should really watch it. It really changes your perspective on the future and the past.
It's good that you are scared of it. There are only two choices you have either you prepare or you don't - either way, time will move forward, and better to spend time preparing than doing nothing.
When I mean "preparing" is becoming the person that is better than you were yesterday. Do this enough times and you'll see results.
Woooord bro! I thought the same thing. It's super weird to see this kind of stuff years later, and have a way different understanding of it. Like wtf now I actually want to improve my life for myself, and before I didn't even think about other stuff than girls, partying and watching youtube. Becoming an adult is fucking awesome! at least for now :O
I love how he's comparing himself to a trash can
How he has all his shit together
he's comparing the guy who's doing well to a trashcan.
"He's a simple human trashcan - elegant, stainless steel"
I thought they were going to make him say,
"And look at me - I'm just a simple human trashcan"
stainless steal :)
I'm a trashcan
HE’S SO ATTRACTIVE ?
Exactly what I was thinking...
He plays Ben Hargreeves in Umbrella Academy.
no question mark
I remember, I watched this during my early 20s and not im almost 29. Time flies so fast. Thanking myself that I’m ending my 20s with significant progress. I’m now a manager, an investor, an entrepreneur at the same time and got my own house already and planning to get my own car on my 30th birthday. I’m still single and still enjoying it.
Hats off to you man. Glad to know things can always get better
Any tips for a 23 year old on the same path?

Big up man 💪
I feel like the faster you accept responsibility is the faster you become an adult no matter what age you are. I swear I became the most happy when I became self sufficient. There’s nothing more fulfilling then listening to your self and supporting yourself. I recently just did a video on the same topic pretty sure y’all will like it. Much love ❤️
"You've been living like a 21 year old for nine years"
wow y'all I came here for Ben, not to be personally attacked
I think many young people misunderstand the point. When you 21 you have less responsibility and are still inexperienced about life. Even as 30 you are still learning, we keep growing. But when I compare myself to my 20s to now in my 30s I definitely wasnt as capable and understanding of the world as now. But that doesnt mean its bad to be 21. What he meant was that 21 is an age where we lived more carefree and with less pressure of getting older and with lots of options compared to in the 30s
Who’s ben

Literally my tears fell off. I'm a freshman uni student. My life has been falling apart for years. Thanks guys. You gave me the hope to live.
I watched this in my last year of high school, and wondered about when I would finally become an adult. It's been many years since then and I watched it again just now. I almost started crying when I realized that I'm almost there. I've almost made it. And I believe you can too - never give up.
Sorry but can I ask?
How is your life falling apart ? As a freshman at uni esp?
I watched this video when it first came out and it really motivated me. My sister and I have been trying really hard to improve our lives for the last 2 yrs. We finally have better paying jobs, a car, credit and we just moved to a nice small apartment so we still dont have a lot of stuff. A few weeks ago, my sister wanted to buy a new trash can, just like this one. I thought it was a bit pricey and too fancy for us, but then I remembered this video, its message and decided to buy it. We just have to keep improving our lives and keep moving forward :)
P.S: i apologize for any mistakes, english is not my 1st language!
Your englisch is good !
How is everything now?I hope its good would love an update!

Oh man... I was thinking exactly the same. :P

Now I'm going to start judging people by their trashcan
grvvmy lesson of the day: become a stainless steel trashcan.

It's weird, I have a bucket as a trash can and I still control my life the way I wanted to be...TRASH!
grvvmy yeah ikr me too
I have the metal one with the foot step to open it
I’m 20 and ready to start this journey.
Shed a tear watching this video again ngl. 3 years ago, I watched this with nothing to my name, no motivation, no future. Tonight, I rewatch it again with everything I could ever ask for in life. This video will always hold a special place in my heart :’)
To everyone going through it, just keep going and know that it gets better. You got this!
Watching this at 16 man no probelms just looking to be ahead of my peers
Watching this at 19 being a server at a restaurant and going to community for an Associates of arts but switching next semester to business and have no idea what I wanna do for work besides knowing I need to make 200k a year. I'm ahead of kids my age but I'm stressed out, I can't stop thinking about money and if I'm a loser than what's the point in my life.
Watching this at 20, and I am pretty dependant on my parents for a lot of things- including transport. I have a job but know I have SO much learning and growing to do before I become someone old me can be proud of. Taking responsibility is scary but it can be so freeing, we can do this!!
same man!!!!!
This is the best and most naturally implemented sponsored video I've ever seen.
Titan Tyra It's true! I was really impressed. Sponsored but tasteful.
i didn’t even realize it was a sponsorship until i read your comment
Didn't think the trashcan is the sponsored product of the video. I guess it boils down to the way the sneaks the idea into the viewer's mind so discreetly. I'm impressed and damn that cinematography or editing done in this video is so nice. Shows us how much they've perfected their craft with storytelling as a whole.
The message in the video is beautiful. And if no sponsoring would have meant no video, I can understand that. Even though electrical trash cans and soap dispensers are very stylish and appear sophisticated, wouldn’t foot/hand operated appliances have done the job just as well, maybe just as stylish and been more environmentally friendly? But then I understand that no sponsoring means no pay and no video.
I thought it was about as obvious as Happy Gilmore, not that I have a problem with Wong Fu getting support.
Alternate title: Ben Hargreeves thinks he’s a trashcan for 9 minutes

Sometimes you don't realize how depressed you've been until you actually start taking care of yourself and reigning in control over your life. I've watched this video so many times before without ever really understanding it, but it had to come from the inside. This video is the perfect reminder when you need it
Im 15 and this is the best video ever. I always had a general idea of how i was gonna live as an adult. But this amde me realize that budgetting and scheduling is an essential part of a healthy life style. Thank you for this great video. Headcannon: Ben made this video to try to teach klaus how to be an adult
Who is Klaus? Sorry!
@@Godongo Klaus is a character from the show Umbrella Academy
I watched this video when I was 16 and I remember thinking, damn, growing up is so scary. I hope I can become a simplehuman trash can one day 😂
As I grew older, I would revisit this video again and it would hit me harder every time. I always find myself in tears even after rewatching this so many times. The struggles mentioned in this video feels more and more real. I feel like I'm understanding the depths of it even more each time.
Today I'm watching this at 22 and this time, I'm starting to relate with him at about 04:20-06:25 where he just got a decent job and is learning how to upgrade his lifestyle with clothes, exercise, diet, and overall work-life balance.
I can't afford a simplehuman trash can yet but I'm able to upgrade my lifestyle a little more and live a little more comfortably than before. I'm still learning how to adult very hard and I'm always getting existential crisises. But it's nice to know that things have gotten better and things will get better. I am working hard so that one day I can reach the ✨simplehuman trash can✨ point. That will be the day I know that I've made it. It may sound stupid but that is how I've been basing my life of since I watched this video - literally a trash can.
May we confused young adults become the best trash cans we can ever be 🙏🏻
omg same. I watch this video 5 years ago, and now I'm 20! Totally relate to what you said. We got this! ✊️🙂
Hey, I've watched this few years ago just like you and I've turned 22 this year. It seems that I watch this once a year randomly stumbling upon it. Gives me some kinda positivity and hope for future watching this. And yeah we are definitely on this *beautiful* process that's full of ups and downs of becoming an adult.
I had to search for this video - i watched it periodically when i was a teen (27 now) and searched growing up trashcan advert.
It really helped me understand that I just needed to practice adulting, slowly one by one and it’ll be okay.

Aside from the guy being Ben from UA, this is an amazingly motivational short film. I’m a college senior graduating in two months in need of a job. I need to find a way to sustain my living after college, but I have been laying off my responsibilities for being depressed and have just let time flow by meaninglessly. This film made me realize that becoming an adult is difficult, but it’s something that you one day become by doing your tasks one by one. Hope things work out for everyone who’s struggling.
Thanks for this. Hope all is well for you
The video I didn’t know I needed 🥹❤ I started my personal growth journey at 23 after being heartbroken by someone I thought I would marry. It made me realize that I was operating life as a traumatized child and not as the emotionally intelligent adult I wanted to be. I am now 27 and was able to start counseling, got accepted in an Ivy League, published a best-selling book about my academic journey, and traveled to some of the most exciting countries in the world!
This video truly brought tears to my eyes because it reminded me that everything is okay. I am okay, and I am on the right path even when things get tough. To anyone struggling with adulting, please know that you are not alone. If you do decide to become the hero you need, things will ultimately become clearer for you as you navigate this area of life. You got this!
I am 15 and feels like I have to get my life together
That's a good idea
Keep messing around for a few years mate, no worries. Enough time to worry later.
@@derpweasel3771 thanks ,I will take your advice
My personal advice, don't ever dwell on college as being a "transition" or an "experience". Sure, it is, but the transition to that point is more important. It's all just life in a different form.
That "later" mindset might stick with you even at the time when you actually do need to pick yourself up asap. eg in second year of your professional program and your gpa is sinking by the semester. I just want to say it's better to start out with at least some good habits, because "later" is a very vague time limit.

This genuinely is a video that was part of my inspiration to take charge of my life 4 years ago. Now, two job switches and a total of 400% hike later, I still come back to this video from time to time just to keep myself grounded. This video let’s me pat myself on the back as well as make me realise that the hustle has started. Learning to value the real important things in life family and health are some of the learnings I take away with each watch. Thank you!

Random UA-cam Watcher but many asian girls from Asia prefer Asians, given that they r self respecting, rich and capable individuals, I've met a korean girl that only dates Chinese, even poor Taiwanese, look for fobs, many of them have good self esteem, pride in their heritage, higher iq and academic achievements, richer family, willingness to from other cultures while keeping the best of their own, they r the best ; ) look for the term fobulous in urban dictionary, seek for those superior beings
Random UA-cam Watcher quit pulling statistics out of your ass. Also, quit being a victim. Yes, hollywood and western media negatively portray asian men but it doesn't prevent you from achieving anything in life. Hit the gym, work on your career, and build your social skills. You'll be more attractive than the majority of males in your country no matter where you are.
reminds me of the main character of Big Hero 6
Random UA-cam Watcher Your comment is so ridiculous I don't know even know what to say. If "fat white retarded losers" are getting laid with 'bottom of the barrel asian girls" wtf does that have to do with you? The opposite is probably true of nerdy asian guys who date bottom of the barrel fat white girls who are into anime.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I think you spend too much time on internet forums filled with losers. Your world view and reference points are so negative. Just focus on improving yourself and quit worrying about other people.

I hope you guys make more videos on the topic. 'Adulting' isn't easy. I'm 21 and everyone tells me that by 25 I have to have my shit together. Some people who are in their mid twenties already have kids. I don't know how they do it.
Alias Elysum don't worry I'm 26, still don't have a hang on being a proper adult. Its not about being perfect, just try to do the best you can manage and work on improving yourself one bit at a time!
We should definitely hang out together. I'm also rocking in the same boat, man. Sometimes I feel left behind.
Having kids doesn't mean a person is wise/ he knows what he wants/ his life and self are sorted. I know someone who's 30, has two kids, but super immature, because he was born rich and never really got out of his shelf. I have to say, i pity him. He doesn't know his myriad of problems and still thinks he's better than others. So kids, a hard life in your formative years can be good.
Im entering my mid twenties, my life is no where near put together haha
They don't. Don't have a kid in your 20s. Build your career first and enjoy your youth.
You can travel and not get anyone tell you, "that's boring I don't want to do that." Or work around your spouse's schedule. You also don't feel bad for leaving your family behind on trips or quit gym because your partner wants you home by 6pm.
Not saying having a partner is horrible but get yourself together and know who you are. People in their 20s don't have this.
Thanks a lot for making this really beautiful and helpful video. It's been years and I still watch it even til now
I used to be heavily underachieving in the same aspects as our main man in this film. When I was a little kid I lived carelessly, until I came across your film, it moved my heart and influenced my to have the same realizations that the things around me I conditioned myself to have were a mess, and here I am today using this very film for a personal insight question essay for college. Thank you for everything Wong Fu Productions

Out of all these self-improvement videos sloshing around on the internet, this is the one that opened my eye. And it really isn't even a self-improvement video... Thank you!
This might be one of the best videos I've ever watched in my entire life.

As someone about to go into college, I'm glad I found this video when I did. I know I'm years late to the party, but man this video is well made. Good on you all for making this, and as well as it is.
I have been watching WongFu for as most as I can remember. When I was in high school I used to relate to their videos and now as an almost college graduate I can still relate. Thank you Wong Fu for all the inspiration!

This video made me understand so much, so early, I'm forever grateful for you guys.
As a first year college student, this video couldn't be more relatable. It's always good to be reminded of future goals and what to do now to get what we want in the future :)
I’m 30 , I got my first career job 6 months ago . I needed this now . I need to take my job serious . I need to be an adult . Thanks for this video
I'm 28 and i'm stuck in a position is this work really worth it? Is this work really go for my carreer? Now that i'm thinking about it i might getting worried about my future so is there a advice for me how to improve or etc?
Fuck it all man, quit if it makes you miserable.
Hi! I got my first job at the age of 26.
And stay at home daughter for 5 years but not reaĺly a stay at home daughter, I have some sort kind of sideline job.
Bro life aint easy I was very fortunate for the fact that my parents got me everything I wanted or needed growing up but they split so I had to provide for myself after dropping out of high school and had to learn how to save up after blowin all my money on bud and liquor for 2 years finally started saving halfway to turning 20 now I'm thinking about my future and moving out and starting businesses and most importantly a family. Nothing in life comes easy all we can do is work for what we want, remain faithful and have a positive attitude and treat others with love and respect we all come from different backgrounds and we gotta help each other grow and reach our potential! You got this! Working tires you out but as long as you stay focused and know how to handle your money and learn from the toxic relationships and mistakes and grow from them, you'll go way farther than about 95% of modern society and that's a fact. Growing up shows how strong we can become when we're thrown to the wolves bless up and have an amazing day
