I was bad academically, got fired from my job and i am in the worst shape of my life and have 0 dating life. I have failed a lot and i am failing right now as well but this video is just somewhat asking not to give up. I might fail even more after this but i won't give up. I watched this 4 years ago when I was 17 years old; Now I'm 21 and this video has given me new meaning that I didn't realize when I was 17. Adulting is hard and becoming one is a process that we all must face sooner or later. The important thing is to take it one step at a time and what I learned during this pre-adult life I have is that failure is inevitable, but one thing we can control is our work ethic, and becoming the best versions of ourselves. Good luck out there everyone!

It's good that you are scared of it. There are only two choices you have either you prepare or you don't - either way, time will move forward, and better to spend time preparing than doing nothing.
When I mean "preparing" is becoming the person that is better than you were yesterday. Do this enough times and you'll see results.

I think many young people misunderstand the point. When you 21 you have less responsibility and are still inexperienced about life. Even as 30 you are still learning, we keep growing. But when I compare myself to my 20s to now in my 30s I definitely wasnt as capable and understanding of the world as now. But that doesnt mean its bad to be 21. What he meant was that 21 is an age where we lived more carefree and with less pressure of getting older and with lots of options compared to in the 30s

We finally have better paying jobs, a car, credit and we just moved to a nice small apartment so we still dont have a lot of stuff. A few weeks ago, my sister wanted to buy a new trash can, just like this one. I thought it was a bit pricey and too fancy for us, but then I remembered this video, its message and decided to buy it. The message in the video is beautiful. And if no sponsoring would have meant no video, I can understand that. Even though electrical trash cans and soap dispensers are very stylish and appear sophisticated, wouldn’t foot/hand operated appliances have done the job just as well, maybe just as stylish and been more environmentally friendly? But then I understand that no sponsoring means no pay and no video.

I watched this video when I was 16 and I remember thinking, damn, growing up is so scary. I hope I can become a simplehuman trash can one day 😂
As I grew older, I would revisit this video again and it would hit me harder every time. I always find myself in tears even after rewatching this so many times. The struggles mentioned in this video feels more and more real. I feel like I'm understanding the depths of it even more each time.
Today I'm watching this at 22 and this time, I'm starting to relate with him at about 04:20-06:25 where he just got a decent job and is learning how to upgrade his lifestyle with clothes, exercise, diet, and overall work-life balance.
I can't afford a simplehuman trash can yet but I'm able to upgrade my lifestyle a little more and live a little more comfortably than before. I'm still learning how to adult very hard and I'm always getting existential crisises. But it's nice to know that things have gotten better and things will get better. I am working hard so that one day I can reach the ✨simplehuman trash can✨ point. That will be the day I know that I've made it. It may sound stupid but that is how I've been basing my life of since I watched this video - literally a trash can.
May we confused young adults become the best trash cans we can ever be 🙏🏻

Aside from the guy being Ben from UA, this is an amazingly motivational short film. I’m a college senior graduating in two months in need of a job. I need to find a way to sustain my living after college, but I have been laying off my responsibilities for being depressed and have just let time flow by meaninglessly. This film made me realize that becoming an adult is difficult, but it’s something that you one day become by doing your tasks one by one. Hope things work out for everyone who’s struggling.

The video I didn’t know I needed 🥹❤ I started my personal growth journey at 23 after being heartbroken by someone I thought I would marry. It made me realize that I was operating life as a traumatized child and not as the emotionally intelligent adult I wanted to be. I am now 27 and was able to start counseling, got accepted in an Ivy League, published a best-selling book about my academic journey, and traveled to some of the most exciting countries in the world!
This video truly brought tears to my eyes because it reminded me that everything is okay. I am okay, and I am on the right path even when things get tough. To anyone struggling with adulting, please know that you are not alone. If you do decide to become the hero you need, things will ultimately become clearer for you as you navigate this area of life. You got this!

That "later" mindset might stick with you even at the time when you actually do need to pick yourself up asap. eg in second year of your professional program and your gpa is sinking by the semester. I just want to say it's better to start out with at least some good habits, because "later" is a very vague time limit.

Having kids doesn't mean a person is wise/ he knows what he wants/ his life and self are sorted. I know someone who's 30, has two kids, but super immature, because he was born rich and never really got out of his shelf. I have to say, i pity him. He doesn't know his myriad of problems and still thinks he's better than others. So kids, a hard life in your formative years can be good.

They don't. Don't have a kid in your 20s. Build your career first and enjoy your youth.
You can travel and not get anyone tell you, "that's boring I don't want to do that." Or work around your spouse's schedule. You also don't feel bad for leaving your family behind on trips or quit gym because your partner wants you home by 6pm.
Not saying having a partner is horrible but get yourself together and know who you are. People in their 20s don't have this.

I used to be heavily underachieving in the same aspects as our main man in this film. When I was a little kid I lived carelessly, until I came across your film, it moved my heart and influenced my to have the same realizations that the things around me I conditioned myself to have were a mess, and here I am today using this very film for a personal insight question essay for college. Thank you for everything Wong Fu Productions

Out of all these self-improvement videos sloshing around on the internet, this is the one that opened my eye. And it really isn't even a self-improvement video... Thank you!

I have been watching WongFu for as most as I can remember. When I was in high school I used to relate to their videos and now as an almost college graduate I can still relate. Thank you Wong Fu for all the inspiration!

Bro life aint easy I was very fortunate for the fact that my parents got me everything I wanted or needed growing up but they split so I had to provide for myself after dropping out of high school and had to learn how to save up after blowin all my money on bud and liquor for 2 years finally started saving halfway to turning 20 now I'm thinking about my future and moving out and starting businesses and most importantly a family. Nothing in life comes easy all we can do is work for what we want, remain faithful and have a positive attitude and treat others with love and respect we all come from different backgrounds and we gotta help each other grow and reach our potential! You got this! Working tires you out but as long as you stay focused and know how to handle your money and learn from the toxic relationships and mistakes and grow from them, you'll go way farther than about 95% of modern society and that's a fact. Growing up shows how strong we can become when we're thrown to the wolves bless up and have an amazing day
