Already have a thick neck? Have great genetics? Taking a bunch of drugs? Guess what, if you never isolated your neck you haven't hit your potential! This idea that you can achieve optimal/maximum growth through indirect means is complete nonsense, and anyone who preaches that philosophy has zero experience with neck training. Now if you're already content with your neck size, good for you! That doesn't change the fact that it could be bigger with specific work. So if your goal is maximum neck thickness, it's 100% mandatory that you isolate it. And of course, record the before/after measurements :)
I train my neck 5 sets between my squats and 5 sets between my bench. Its disgusting how fast it grows, 30 sets a week!
@@EstParum imagine doing that when you run sheiko 4 day a week program.
@@stevenhewes1990 I imagine it.
I was so happy when I discovered your channel and your neck training. Before that I had only encountered shit advice like "deadlifts will grow your neck automatically" and shit like that. Same with forearms and calves.
Forearms will grow from deadlifts and rows. Calves will grow from squatting and ham curls. Nonsense.
Neck training has health benefits as well. You never mention that(I doubt people are that aware of it). You know how reverse hyper extensions are good for the lower back? Same goes with neck extensions. I have had some lower neck pain and neck extension has fixed that. Now my spine feel way healthier.
If your neck is weak you might get a hernia from heavy pulls. You need a strong neck. If you don't do it for aesthetics then do it for your spinal health.

Trust me guys, training your neck will make you look 100% bigger and so much more masuculine. Got it from 14inch to 17inch in 5months and it has made a huge diffirence how I look. Train it if you want to look like a man!

@@unknownsource4359sure! I train neck every other day, it doesnt matter if you sometimes take 2 rest days, the key is listen to your body. Do not train that hard that you are not able to turn your head for a week. Volumeday: 3x100 intensityday: 4x20 Those repranges are not set in stone. Try to get a good stretch at the bottom because stretch is the most important thing for muscle growht in my opinion. I have done only neckcurls but ofcoure other excercises could be beneficial. I will be doing those when my neck gets over 18inch whitout pump.
Aleksi Niemelä I appreciate it my man. The neck curls can be done laying on a bench? The 100 reps are just bodyweight right? The 20 reps are with weight? Your help is appreciated
I was skeptical about it. But I started doing neck curls 3 days a week. Went from 10lb to 35 fast. Neck grew fast. I get a lot of looks. I do a lot of exercises I see no one else do. But I go at 5am every morning. Same older crowd every day. I keep to myself but I’m always asked what exactly I’m doing haha.
Ever since I started alpha destiny neck training program. I cant turn my neck lol I have to move my whole body in order to turn around. My neck is so stable now I can only look forward.
Been using my neck for awhile now and today after I did a few hundred reps my neck measured 19” ...I started at 17.25..this is in about 6 months...the neck flex was the best thing I have added to my home gym...
My neck has been always been thick due to having to hold up my massive head.

NEVER skip neck day!
If you've never trained a muscle and start training it, it will grow... Interesting.
Facts
I got a big pump after training my neck earlier today and was looking at it in the mirror and was blown away. I've done neck training on and off, but I'm doing it 2-3 times a week now, at least for the next few months.
I started about a month ago almost it's expanding. I do bridges , neck harness 35lb plate 100 reps, neck flexion 100 reps 20 lbs. I do it 4x week.
Also, neck training helps you take punches for those who fight a lot
Very important for combat athletes indeed
@@AlexLeonidas I started boxing with a somewhat weaker chin, but after training my neck for two months my sparring partners have a harder time knocking me out XD. BTW thx for the reply my dude :)

My man Alex being super active in the comment section. Much love brother.
I still workout my neck. I haven’t wrestled since I graduated in 2010. Its good to have a strong neck in a street fight.
Or any whiplash scenario.
Started with s 16.5 inch neck. Been training neck for 3 months, now i have a 19 inch neck at 175 bodyweight!

Holy shit, thanks man for getting me into neck training. I just photoshoped my neck to be 5 % thicker and damn, the difference in just facial aesthetics alone is so huge i instantly made neck training my priority. Just a question - how long would it take for a complete novice in neck traing to gain a 5% size increase when training neck hard every other day ?
I have been doing BJJ for almost 8 years, and i have pretty thick and strong neck, without any isolation work for the neck, but i had nagging pain in the joints and tightness in left side of my neck, then i just decided to try some isolation after every training session. I did 3 sets of 30 reps neck curls and extencions without any weight and oh boy how fast my neck pain and tightness started to go away, and i feel my neck has grown thickness even more. Good shit!
Awesome bro!
O tryed to beat my pr did a 1rep max neck curl off 120kg and got parelyzed from the neck down
I typed this with my tongeu btw
So I listened to your advice. Now my neck is huge but my head looks small. How do I train my head?
Hit some books, do heavy sets.
hit it with a sledgehammer, you get these bumps
Hit it hard, no homo.
Jaw training
Try a library workout
But alex, if you get your deadlift up to 12 plates you won't have a small neck.
Let's all deadlift 1125lbs for a thick neck! This achievable for 99% of us, hence optimal and practical :)

Thicker the neck. Less brain damage you might get in the future. Its kinda the core of the head.
@LAWAYA MIYKA'EL Only 22 atm. Working on getting 33x3 until I hit 90lb then gonna build up max reps. Has your neck grown?

Alex, can you do a neck bridging progression tutorial from beginner to advanced
ua-cam.com/video/jq0V6Ejf_XI/v-deo.html 9:21
I personally have a pretty good neck naturally but as a martial artist I learned the hard way that size doesn't mean strength (same goes for my quads actually) so yeah, I need to train my neck and get it as strong as possible
wait sleep apnea from muscles? I thought that only happens from fat
Muscle imbalance is the deterrent factor in terms of training my neck. I mean I don't want my head to tilt in an awkward way just because I am more dominant on one side. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this issue, Alex.
I have a big head and a long, thin neck, but I’m limited on time and need a bigger upper body.
Train neck. Overhead press and Deadlift
Sleep apnea from neck training?
Training your neck makes you look so attractive as well in my experience
It's the same case for arms in my experince.
Train your neck with bands guys, it feels mutch better than with straight weight, never zingers, and i feel its also better voor building size and strengt because of the constand time under tention
how do you do it with bands ?
+Niemand wichtiges for neck flexion, i attach a band to my pullup bar, kneel down with the band on my forhead and do neck flexing that way, for extention, i stand on the band, put the band in my mouth and extend that way, you have unlimited neck strenght potention that way, because you can buy heavier bands or put bands together
knife tricks how do you do the side and back of the neck with it?
Since i started neck training I have a compulsion to crack my neck multiples times a day because it is stiff. I never cracked my neck before but know i need to crack it all the time even on rest days
joeypinco Maybe u overdo it with extension work? Neck curls do not stiffen up the parts of our neck u are cracking.
Get a chiropractic adjustment once in a while
I will emphasize more on my neck along with my forearms and traps ,goal gains monster mode ftw
What neck training equipment do you use?
Well developed neck looks good but over developed neck looks horrible in my opinion
hard to get over developed neck as a natty tho
Nearly impossible to overdevelop it.
Kurt angle lol my neck is good but im a wrestler most of my friends have thick necks
Biesman I dont know about that
>I don't want to get an overdeveloped neck
I hear this argument over and over again for different body parts. Trust me bro, you're not going to accidentally get too big. Progress beyond the beginner phase occurs so slowly that you will have to put in years of serious effort before you ever have to consider being "overdeveloped", and the reality is most humans simply do not have the genetics to naturally grow their muscles to a size that most would consider "too big".
My neck is now 17.6 inches so I’m maintaining it, neck training is legit!
Got my friend into it. Says many times how it looks bigger/better.
Fantastic!
Hey Alex,
Could you please do a video on strength standards for the neck training lifts.
Neck training to match a neckbeard.
My neck is wider than my head...lol, I love having a wide neck. I had a pencil neck till age 23ish. I do not follow a standard neck workout, and am seriously considering doing my first UA-cam video to share it with everyone. Love this channel.
That's awesome bro!
Alex is it safe? i think it can cause hernia or some serious injury if not done properly
Nice video like always
noway, its completely safe and just do it without any weigths for couple pf days
YO alpha create a neck band that connects to the cable machine that we can use for neck movements. We will all buy it.
The neck flex does that already brother
I totally agree after Rolling with my friend in bjj class he won because of his strong neck and my weak neck.

Alex I am 6'3 210lbs bear mode, I am neck curling 90lbs for 33 reps (3 sets). When I started I had a 14 inch neck and now I have a 16inch neck. However, since the past month i am stuck on 16 inches. Is it because I have maxed out on the neck curl? I really would like a 17/18 inch bulldog neck. Please advise. Thanks bro, love all your work.
Hey brother, first of all congrats on gaining 2 inches! 90lbs for 33 reps is also good so awesome work :)
I would like to know, are you hitting the neck extensions and side raises hard? Also, how good is your form on neck training as a whole? Make sure to disengage the arms/abs as much as possible for the best results. I would also advise switching up the variations if you're limited in weight (like using a harness). With that said, keep up the progressive overload and the gains will continue.
@@AlexLeonidas Great Alex, the lightbulb in my head just went off. I don't do neck extensions as much as I do neck curls. The back of the neck would definitely add to my overall circumference. Today is neck day in this case ;) Thanks again ma brother

Lmao bro the sleep apnea argument is such fucking trash. Unless your a freak/your blasting gear/shorter slightly thicker neck to begin with your neck is not going to get to the point where the size is a risk factor. Take it from a former giraffe neck lol
The neck is very important because it is the connection between head and the rest of the body
I train by doing rack pulls above the neck!
Hahaha done
One point i want to make, people who does pull(specially deadlifts) while looking up with their head and eyes somehow always get some kind of neck gainz but in the longrun doing it gets neck irritation aswell but yeah, if u never trained your neck, you will never reach your potentiel.
Hi man, i'am from France, sorry if my english is not so good.
I want start to training my neck, if i just training the back and front, i will not make some disequilibrium ? If i don't training the part left and right, i will first follow your video about Neck training home, and after that with pulley in the gym, thank for your help and video
As far as I know it would be bad to train one side but not the other, or only front without back, but training front and back alone isnt bad. Just train sides with it if you want to.
I’ve been training my neck at home for a year and it got much bigger (at least an inch gained). I use books as a weight and hit all 4 sides while lying on my bed with my head over the edge.
I do 4 sets per side, 25 reps per set. I superset front with back, and then left side with right side. For progressive overload I just add more books.
Hitting the sides is pretty crucial to get that neck width.
Ok thanks, i will train the front and back, i just was thinking that can to be maybe Bad if i only training thé front and back but not the sides

What's your opinion on supersetting relatively light shrugs (50kg dumbbells for 15-25 reps) with neck curls?
It's a great idea
I would like to get a thick neck like brock lesnar and dr rackpull
I get severe headaches when I do direct neck work. How do I deal with this? Can you please answer this question. I would appreciate it alot.
I have had this before as well. Remove the weights and do very controlled and slow reps with static holds for now. Increase the weight slowly over time. I speculate that some people have to get used to this kind of training first so start slow and carefully.
Also make sure you are breathing correctly.
Hey Alpha, do isometric exercises also help with neck gains, too? Say if i wanna change it up from the usual tons of repetitions for neck curls/extensions/side neck raises
That Goldberg picture is hilarious
Fix those askew squares on the wall!
I have a very large circumference.
I don't understand English speaking. Ask questions using a translator. Can I practice neck training with a plate every day?
@Bob Saget Thank you. bro. It was a great help.
what training speed do you recommend for the neck? slow and controlled or fast and crazy?
Just a quick yes/no on these two Alex
1. Can I do connective tissue work with cables instead of bands?
2. Is the Stair Climber a good alternative for GPP?
1) Yes but it's better with bands.
2) You'll get benefits for sure

Alex can you make a video on scoliosis not as medical but motivation I feel like it holds me back and makes me depressed

I been neck training about a month thanks to your videos. The bigger my neck gets, the less defined my jawline is, like they are blending together. Can you tell me why
Purple Aki is it even possible a thicker neck will reduce jawline definition? While lean I don’t see how it’s possible
I’m dead😂😂😂
You're prob just putting on weight at the same time.. go into calorie deficit! If anything neck training would make it more defined, because the more muscle there is on it the more the fat you have has to be distributed.
Your jawline is becoming less defined because you're gaining bodyfat, not because you're gaining neck muscle mass
Stay off the pies mate
I really need someone to answer this question seriously... I've been working out in total 11 months and my strength is still beginner strength. I did kind of a mistake and did a dirty bulk and gained a lot of fat during my dirty bulk phase. And I regret it..
But i wanna start my "first" real cut but I'm not sure if that is gonna hinder my linear progression or muscle gain since I'm still able to do linear progress because my lifts are still weak. i've heard that beginners/novices can still build muscle and lose fat at the same time and im definitely a beginner.
So my question is, can i still build muscle and strength while cutting using progressive overload after ive been training for almost 1 year as a beginner? Will it still work?
Here is some of my lifts you can base my lvl on:
Bench: 180lbs/80 kg (1RM)
Squat: 190 lbs/85 kg (1RM)
Deadlift: 264 lbs/110 kg (1RM)
OHP: 123 lbs/55 kg (1RM)
Would love to get some answers as im still learning. Thanks!
yea if you still have that extra fat you could probably gain muscle/strength in a cal deficit as a novice.
Man just bulk up with healthy foods if you start a cut you wont have much muscle to show off
Yes you can pull it off if you train, eat and sleep right. Your upper lifts are better than your squat and deadlift, so thoose will maybe plateau quicker tho.
If you wanna build a big neck you need to buy an expensive certified neck harness, a new age one that utilizes bands. Most old school neck training principles and devices only ensure that your spinal cord will be all ficked up later in life, completely absolutely not worth it.
The safest way to build a great neck is to really flex your neck very hard during heavy shrugs. This will help build up your neck to just big enough to look attractive. A huge neck is aesthetic as fuck, sure, but you have to be smart about it.
how many times a week should i train neck and would it be enough to do 4x30 neckcurls?
Sam A 3 times per week would be adequate enough and you’d need to do at least 4 sets of 25 reps for neck curls, weighted neck extension and weighted side neck raises both ways which would equal 400 reps in total it’s all about the volume and btw this was in his video not too long ago I’m not talking rubbish
You used to say its essential to train lower back and abs at the end of every workout but you stopped doing it how come?
For the simple reason that I haven't been doing heavy pulls. There's pretty much no stress on the lower back, hence the laziness.
If I was doing my usual overload rows and pulls, I would 100% do lower back and abs every workout without fail. And this is what I still recommend.
AlphaDestiny no worries alex u do u i was just curious :)

The problem for me is that i get very nauseous on the same day and the day after after neck training. Anyone else? I've been experimenting with smaller ROM and it helps but still feeling a little nauseous.
Alex thanks for the reply. Do you use full ROM?
Are you going to bulk on plant based this winter ?
is it reasonable to expect decent neck gains just doing neck curls without any weight? been doing a couple hundred a day but idk if i'm wasting my time.
You can but over time you’d have to constantly increase the amount of reps you’re doing or else you’ll plateau.
get that sleep apnea happening
Why?
Should've talked about the possible risk of sleep apnea
What?
been working my neck out before i go to sleep for 6 months now and i sleep perfectly fine
@AppleThorn Records If a neck is large enough, it somewhat restricts the airway when sleeping, which leads to sleep apnea.
There isn't one
I'm currently cutting and still have neck fat, if i train my neck consistently while i keep cutting will the neck fat go away???
don't rely on spot fat reduction. neck training will certainly make you appear leaner in the face but it won't magically melt felt. continue cutting and as you get leaner, much improvements will be made. keep at it
@@AlexLeonidas thanks for the info, love your content Keep it up!!
I'm all about neck strength but not size.
Size ultimately can cause issues with sleep apnea and that's some shit that if not treated can wreck your cardiovascular system.
Sleep apnea depends more on your posture and tongue position. My neck grew and I have no problems sleeping. Neck training CAN change your posture for worse though.
A lot of sleep apnea and snoring is caused by... bigass pillows. Yes, fat pillows tilt your head forward and make you snore, messing with quality of your sleep. Try taking away a pillow from someone who's sleeping and snoring, or tilt their head backwards gently, the snoring stops. But I do remember getting sleep apnea from insanely fast weight gain during a dirty bulk, which stopped as soon as I realized I was getting fat needlessly and cut down the cals.
14.5 inch neck at nearly 6ft 5. And its a long neck. Time to fatten it and look better 🎉
Hey Alex, how long do you recommend resting in between sets when doing 3x1 @90%? Would you need 3-5 minutes or could you get away with just 2? Thanks bro
3-5 minutes is highly recommended. 2 can work if the set was easy, but I wouldn't do that for all 3 sets. Maybe just the first
