    Already have a thick neck? Have great genetics? Taking a bunch of drugs? Guess what, if you never isolated your neck you haven't hit your potential! This idea that you can achieve optimal/maximum growth through indirect means is complete nonsense, and anyone who preaches that philosophy has zero experience with neck training. Now if you're already content with your neck size, good for you! That doesn't change the fact that it could be bigger with specific work. So if your goal is maximum neck thickness, it's 100% mandatory that you isolate it. And of course, record the before/after measurements :)

      I was so happy when I discovered your channel and your neck training. Before that I had only encountered shit advice like "deadlifts will grow your neck automatically" and shit like that. Same with forearms and calves.
      Forearms will grow from deadlifts and rows. Calves will grow from squatting and ham curls. Nonsense.
      Neck training has health benefits as well. You never mention that(I doubt people are that aware of it). You know how reverse hyper extensions are good for the lower back? Same goes with neck extensions. I have had some lower neck pain and neck extension has fixed that. Now my spine feel way healthier.
      If your neck is weak you might get a hernia from heavy pulls. You need a strong neck. If you don't do it for aesthetics then do it for your spinal health.

      @@unknownsource4359sure! I train neck every other day, it doesnt matter if you sometimes take 2 rest days, the key is listen to your body. Do not train that hard that you are not able to turn your head for a week. Volumeday: 3x100 intensityday: 4x20 Those repranges are not set in stone. Try to get a good stretch at the bottom because stretch is the most important thing for muscle growht in my opinion. I have done only neckcurls but ofcoure other excercises could be beneficial. I hear this argument over and over again for different body parts. Trust me bro, you're not going to accidentally get too big. Progress beyond the beginner phase occurs so slowly that you will have to put in years of serious effort before you ever have to consider being "overdeveloped", and the reality is most humans simply do not have the genetics to naturally grow their muscles to a size that most would consider "too big".

      Hey brother, first of all congrats on gaining 2 inches! 90lbs for 33 reps is also good so awesome work :)
      I would like to know, are you hitting the neck extensions and side raises hard? Also, how good is your form on neck training as a whole? Make sure to disengage the arms/abs as much as possible for the best results. I would also advise switching up the variations if you're limited in weight (like using a harness). With that said, keep up the progressive overload and the gains will continue.

    Hi man, i'am from France, sorry if my english is not so good.
    I want start to training my neck, if i just training the back and front, i will not make some disequilibrium ? If i don't training the part left and right, i will first follow your video about Neck training home, and after that with pulley in the gym, thank for your help and video

      As far as I know it would be bad to train one side but not the other, or only front without back, but training front and back alone isnt bad. Just train sides with it if you want to.

    • @ShadowQuik
      @ShadowQuik 5 років тому +1

      I’ve been training my neck at home for a year and it got much bigger (at least an inch gained). I use books as a weight and hit all 4 sides while lying on my bed with my head over the edge.
      I do 4 sets per side, 25 reps per set. I superset front with back, and then left side with right side. For progressive overload I just add more books.
      Hitting the sides is pretty crucial to get that neck width.

      I have had this before as well. Remove the weights and do very controlled and slow reps with static holds for now. Increase the weight slowly over time. I speculate that some people have to get used to this kind of training first so start slow and carefully.

    I really need someone to answer this question seriously... I've been working out in total 11 months and my strength is still beginner strength. I did kind of a mistake and did a dirty bulk and gained a lot of fat during my dirty bulk phase. And I regret it..
    But i wanna start my "first" real cut but I'm not sure if that is gonna hinder my linear progression or muscle gain since I'm still able to do linear progress because my lifts are still weak. i've heard that beginners/novices can still build muscle and lose fat at the same time and im definitely a beginner.
    So my question is, can i still build muscle and strength while cutting using progressive overload after ive been training for almost 1 year as a beginner? Will it still work?
    Here is some of my lifts you can base my lvl on:
    Bench: 180lbs/80 kg (1RM)
    Squat: 190 lbs/85 kg (1RM)
    Deadlift: 264 lbs/110 kg (1RM)
    OHP: 123 lbs/55 kg (1RM)
    Would love to get some answers as im still learning. Thanks!

    • @burritodog3634

      Yes you can pull it off if you train, eat and sleep right. Your upper lifts are better than your squat and deadlift, so thoose will maybe plateau quicker tho.

    If you wanna build a big neck you need to buy an expensive certified neck harness, a new age one that utilizes bands. Most old school neck training principles and devices only ensure that your spinal cord will be all ficked up later in life, completely absolutely not worth it.
    The safest way to build a great neck is to really flex your neck very hard during heavy shrugs. This will help build up your neck to just big enough to look attractive. A huge neck is aesthetic as fuck, sure, but you have to be smart about it.

    • @KJ-zi7od

      Sam A 3 times per week would be adequate enough and you’d need to do at least 4 sets of 25 reps for neck curls, weighted neck extension and weighted side neck raises both ways which would equal 400 reps in total it’s all about the volume and btw this was in his video not too long ago I’m not talking rubbish

    • @AlexLeonidas
      @AlexLeonidas  5 років тому

      For the simple reason that I haven't been doing heavy pulls. There's pretty much no stress on the lower back, hence the laziness.
      If I was doing my usual overload rows and pulls, I would 100% do lower back and abs every workout without fail. And this is what I still recommend.

      A lot of sleep apnea and snoring is caused by... bigass pillows. Yes, fat pillows tilt your head forward and make you snore, messing with quality of your sleep. Try taking away a pillow from someone who's sleeping and snoring, or tilt their head backwards gently, the snoring stops. But I do remember getting sleep apnea from insanely fast weight gain during a dirty bulk, which stopped as soon as I realized I was getting fat needlessly and cut down the cals.
