I'm having the same issue, a small leak from the same place. I somewhat knew I had to tight up something there. I will replace the O ring later and update how easy or not it was. Thanks for the video
Sir, thank you, now I have this problem, I was thinking of changing the whole hose, but thanks to your video, I am going to fix only the gasket, thank you, sir, great
thanks for this, i couldnt figure out the leak and couldnt even tell there was an oring in the upper hose. my o ring kit was $24 and the y pipe was 40, easy fix
Thanks for posting this. I has to swap out the water pump and figured I would change out the Y assembly because of known leak problems. Dormans didn't include the O-rings that I need. I didn't see an o-ring when I removed the upper radiator hose. I may have lost it, who knows. Anyway, I'll install the missing o-ring tomorrow. Thanks again.
My 13 f150 has had all sorts of water problems. Water pump, heater core hose, t connector o ring leak, sun roof, 2 window regulators, ac drain stopped up filling up my passenger floor. Good job ford
It drains out of the fire wall close to the passenger side fender well behind exhaust. If your passenger floor gets wet look outside underneath your truck with ac running if you don't have alot of water dripping it's probably stopped up. It's a pain to reach but you can unclog it by running something up it from the bottom.
My new ring lasted a little over a year. I am getting ready to change it out again because it's leaking again. Luckily there were several o-rings in the package when I ordered them last year. Now I know why! lol
I'm just gonna replace both radiator hoses on mine I noticed a loss of coolant recently in my 08 super duty with the 5.4l 3v, water pump, fan clutch, petcock drain plug, thermostat, thermostat water outlet and gaskets, fan clutch, and fan have been all replaced, wanted to replace the radiator hoses both upper and lower, which I think I'm going to do tonsave time, I haven't seen anything drip everything feels dry, but just to be sure, I know I don't have blown head gaskets I would have noticed that if I did and would get rid of the truck if that was the case, but yeah I'm gonna replace all hoses for that instead of o rings, Bec my hoses are old from factory. Half the shit on my truck is factory original and has 225k miles on it.
225k is a lot of miles, since this video was made, I replaced my second water pump on my truck, I replaced everything hoses, thermostat all the gaskets, coolant hoses everything
My 2014 hit 100,000 and 2 days later no heat or defrost in a snowstorm. Replaced the o ring in 15 minutes with just a screwdriver. Helps to drain the tank first. Used a gravity suction ball valve with clear tubing.
Drain about a gallon out you should be good. It may leak out a little but nothing substantial, best of luck. Don’t forget to subscribe thank you for your support
Yeah, especially if the hose had been removed once like mine was to replace the waterpump. At the time being 10 degrees out, I just put it back together didn’t think the o ring was a one time use. It held up for prob a few months but dripping here and there, hence, the video and simple repair.
Mines leaking from bottom of raidator hose question is fluid gonna come outta there sorry i know its a dumb question and it jus started doing this since its winter here in oregon below 10 degrees and im assuming the o ring is really flat let me know thanks
The gasket it gets compressed once the hose is applied to the radiator neck probably from the factory. In overtime that gasket just lose the seal, you can replace the entire hose which takes probably 10 minutes for peace of mind. The hose really isn't a whole lot of money and it will already have a new over installed and you know it'll be the right one. Best of luck to you, sir, I just replaced my water pump in my 14 5.0, I replaced both upper and lower hoses, the lower hose also flows into the oil cooler. The hoses are generally pretty easy to replace, if if anything for peace of mind just replace them both with new poses
If you are just pulling the thermostat off, then there is an o-ring for the thermostat itself. There is another between the hose manifold and the water pump.

Not school, AC drain

Ur video actually helped me out on my ford work truck with that leak!! Good shit bro thank you!!!
There are three O rings in the pack. Would you happen to know where the smaller O ring goes? Reservoir hose?
No. The small o ring goes on the pipe that feeds in the top of the waterpump, you would only change that one when doing a waterpump
Helpful Thanks!
Are there any high heat o rings made so I don't have to keep doing this. Maybe like the red or green or blue o rings?
I just used the black o rings that are offered and come in these hoses as stock replacements. Haven't had a problem got 141k on mine

Mines been leaking for years. I've had the o rings for years. I should probably do this at some point lol. It only leaks during the winter tho.
Oh man so easy to do it, just do it haha

Did you ever replace the O rings? Mine leaked slowly for years too. Then a couple days ago… BOOM. Huge leak from the T ring on the upper side.
@@TsunauticusIV I did. While I was in there I did the water pump, new serpentine belt and thermostat

Hi, the plastic ring that sits on top of the rubber o-ring is called what?
It might be called an o ring seat or something like that
@@7906jen thank you, great video as well...
Any opinions on if I should replace whole thing or just o-ring?
If the hose is in good condition, you can just replace the o ring

Do you know if there is a o ring on thermostat housing where it connects to the water pump ?
I believe there is, I am about to change the stat very soon on my 14, maybe I’ll make a video about it too
If you are just pulling the thermostat off, then there is an o-ring for the thermostat itself. There is another between the hose manifold and the water pump.
My leak is on the water pump side of the y fitting. Will a new o ring fix that or do I need to replace the whole y fitting?
The Y fitting is one piece and is relatively cheap to replace. Just replace the whole unit
When I put the new o ring in the pipe and it won’t click into place.
Put a little lubrixation on the o ring first that should help
What is the technical name of that piece? I need to buy it
O ring
Is it the same o ring for top and bottom radiator hoses?
I believe it is the same part number
Anyone have a link to the o-ring
It’s a dorman part
