In the Iron age he created Registeel once again imitating what he perceived being used in the world and in an attemp to protect humans even if they didn´t want that (some of them worshiped Regigigas but other feared the regis it created and sealed them away). Then in the Galar region he saw Eternatus appear. Eternatus is basically the source of the dynamax and the gigantamax phenomena in Galar due to its power leaking out in the form of galar particles and Regigigas also probably saw it cause the first darkest day too. So he tried to create a dragon regi made of pure energy based on that as well (to imitate what he saw and/or to protect humans from Eternatus itself). However, Zacian and Zamazenta defeated Eternatus and its energy was scattered around the entire region while he was creating Regidrago so he no longer had a reason and/or the means to complete Regidrago (because Regidrago was based on Eternatus, so when he was defeated Regigigas no longer had something to see and imitate and with all the energy scattered around the entire region in a way smaller form, it was way harder to continue as well. Also since Eternatus was also no longer a threat to humans he had way less reasons to complete it too). It´s also possible that humans eventually noticed that Regigigas creates regis to imitate what he sees and decided to seal him away in Sinnoh. It isn´t stated if Regieleki was created around the same time (just that Regidrago and regieleki were sealed away in Galar just like how the other 3 were sealed away in Hoenn and regigigas itself in Sinnoh) . But if it was, the fact that he saw the darkest day as a huge storm was maybe what inspired Regigigas to create a Regi based on electricity. But if not, Regieleki is still most likely created once again by imitation during the time Regigigas saw humans start using electricity.

@@dhampir_days imagine if Eternatus was actually the source of the Dragon element in the Pokémon universe, as a terrible dragon whose physical form was shattered and sown into the land, eventually becoming raid dens and crystals containing its Dragon Type energy. Over time certain Pokémon began to absorb and harness its energy, leading to the creation of the dragon type. The Eternatus that we know is really just a Skeleton of the original dragon, it’s Eternamax form being a fraction of the original Dragon’s power.
@@psychicjellyfish9466 yknow, that'd actually make a lot of sense. I don't know how the poison typing would come in exactly, but I have come up with the theory that during its containment, it collected a lot of waste from the energy it produced, and eventually gained a poison typing. some compare its energy to radiation, and I think the energy waste would give some explanation to its typing, because perhaps in too high doses, dynamax energy is too dangerous. also, it could be decaying, producing more harmful waste and giving it a skeleton like appearance
*Real World: “The Dark Ages,” a time perceived as one of little advancement and enlightenment, and also where people believed in dragons.* *Pokemon world: “The Darkest Day,” a “dark age” where black clouds covered the land, monsters and a gigantic, godlike dragon ran rampant.* Hmmmm... (Also I’m not the only one who thinks Regidrago is similar to Eternatus, right? They are both dragon types in Galar that are ancient... shoot giant beams of raw energy... can be violent and destructive... maybe Regigas used energy released by Eternatus and captured it in crystals or pieces of Eternatus’ original form, like wishing pieces or wishing stars, and used them to create Regidrago.) EDIT: Thanks for the replies! Considering how much possible material there is and how deep the lore goes, Lockstin really should make a video on Eternatus. It would really help a lot of people understand it’s design and the lore behind it, and it would give people who already know like me more material to chew on and think about. Because it really does touch on so many parts of the Pokémon lore.
Yeah... Regigigas used "crystallized Draconic energy" to build a strong Dragon, but ran out. Eternatus looks like a skeletal dragon, made of crystalline-like objects. Eternatus and Necrozma both share draconic and crystalline appearances, AND have draconic powers, etc.
@@gabriellockwood2780 it's very possible Regigigas created Regidrago as a counter for Eternatus but sadly couldn't complete him due to a lack of resources, and thus the poor Dragon type Regi went unused
Gabriel Lockwood not to mention that Dynamax energy or Galar particles, which are what Eternatus is powered by and emits constantly, are very similar to the “dragon energy” Regidrago was made from, and that it fires in its signature move.
Fun fact: originally dragons had poison breath/blood. The depictions of them had trouble conveying they were breathing poison so they made it look like fire which led to them having fire breath

Something notable I noticed early on, Regidrago is explictly the dragon that the entrance to Hammerlocke is based off of. No other Pokemon look like that particular dragon
Well let's dont forget that the dragon typing is a rare typing, hence why most of your pseudo-legendaries are dragon (with exceptions of the lesser dragon types like Kingdra, Drampa, Turtinator, Dragalge, and such) with legendaries (gen 4-8) having the most dragon energy due to their abilities to affect reality itself like Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina
"And boy, am I glad he started with the head because... could you imagine?" Right? I mean, at least with Regidrago being modeled after the head of a dragon, you know what the inspiration was and what it is supposed to be. But, if Regigigas had started from the crown and neck, or the tail, or the tip... I don't know about anyone else. But, I think the tip would make for a Bad Dragon.
Regidark would likely be far more Eldritch Horror looking, since it would probably be the one to represent an age before knowledge, an age before Humanity could understand and comprehend things, maybe even an age before Humanity itself
Tbh I still think regidark would have been better and still could kept the draconian motif Plus the literal dark crystal concept is just cooler than 'oops read the recipe wrong'
@@astridstarr2787 I don't think a crystal Motif would work for a dark type. Ignoring how the only thing that could be done for its design to set it apart from Rock and Ice with to make it just a cluster of crystals, which would be very difficult to make look good, the process by which crystals are made is understandable, which is the opposite of Dark as a type. Remember Dark is immune to Psychic, the type that represents knowledge and the mind, to have Regidark be made by a process humans can understand is to have its design be counterintuitive to the design of the Dark type
I remember in Arceus and the Jewel of Life, when Arceus used some of its Plates to make the Jewel of Life, it said that the Draco Plate was added to enhance the powers of the other types in the Jewel of Life. Given that, I really think you're on the right track about Dragon-type energy being the rawest and most potent form of arcane Infinity Energy. I've wanted Regi's for all types since forever, the idea of each type having an incarnation or avatar of sorts is just cool, although this design is kind of meh it still gives me hope.
Since Regigigas has 6 circles on its body and Regidrago is just the head, I am hoping all the Regis will combine together when the 7th Regi gets revealed.
Always thought the orb part was basically just a dragon's orb of wisdom, where in chinese culture if a dragon reaches old age the heavens will part and grant the dragon a ball of wisdom. Most of the time the orb is displayed in being in the dragon's claws but some artwork can portray the dragon having it in it's mouth, thus giving this new regi a more chinese backround, but hey this works to.
Considering Infinity Energy and Pokemon Moves run on the same energy, this makes Pokemon Moves spells, basically, that Pokemon evolved in the Darwinian sense to use.
The Card game shows literal "Infiinity energy". You can use the energy infinitely, but if you never had enough in the first place, you can't do the thing. I.E 2 energy and you can't use flamethrower. 3 energy and you can use flamethrower as many times as you want forever.

My theory is that while regigigas was out looking and/or creating more dragon energy crystals, humans locked regidrago away. Since the people feared regidrago's completion it probably meant that it was still possible to finish what would've been regigigas' magnum opus.
Regidrago could be the dark ages But I’ve always seen it as the Jurassic Age Dragons and dinosaurs aren’t that different that’s why tyrantrum is dragon type
Nah, dinosaurs and dragons are extremely diferent creatures. Dinosaurs are just big birds adapted to niches occupied by mammals today while dragons are cat-snake hybrids who fly and breath fire or, in asian dragons, mammal-like snake gods, for the most part, there are others who are more just monstrous snakes (or even just imaginary snakes).
@@ejrelatorre4254 I know, but birds are the closest thing there is. A rex is just a very large terrestrial predatory bird without a beak, just like a Triceratops is a buffalo/bull/cattle-like bird covered in very bizarre scales.
@Roza Not really, but generally all of them are some modification of snakes. I know some people are lumping things like feathered snakes or hydras in the dragon category, but I dislike that classification (even though it could be correct since dragons are snakes).
"The one with Knights and Horses... neither of which exist anymore, so there's a fun fact for you." Says the man who lives in Oregon where people regularly ride their horses around town. (Yes, even in the larger cities from time to time.)
4:40 "dragon breath" is not fire-y at all.... It's supposed to be the dragon releasing its foul breath, which's why it has a 30% to paralyze the opponent, because it's so stinky.
Considering the dragon type's interaction with the other types, it backs up dragon being essentially the raw unfiltered elemental energy of the universe. Being resisted by steel, a manmade element, the impurities folded out of the earth in the process of creation reject the world around it, acting as insulation to the energy that permeates it. It may also be wise to consider what the fundamental behaviors and properties of this energy is. It may be endowed with an enormous charge of a particular sign, causing it to be naturally repulsive to itself. Gathering it together in one place to crystalize it would take an incredible amount of time and energy of it was constantly trying to fly apart, which point as to why: A: Dragon is weak to itself as a result of this hyperactive particle motion. B: Dragons and those endowed with a certain dragonlike ability (Gyarados, Lucario, Tyranitar, etc) are prone to rampage when they end up in a state where they cannot control said energy. If this is true, then the Original Dragon from where the tao trio came from was inherently unstable and potentially catastrophically violent. But it's existence predated the type appearing in others as a kind of Pandora's box. A sufficiently destabilizing event would have broken and scattered that energy across the world alongside it's form. Regigigas, being a servant of the land alongside Zygarde, who gained dragon typing as a being directly connected to the ecosystem, sensed a misbalance in the natural order. He sets across the land gathering as much of the stray dragon energy with the goal of condensing it back into the Original dragon, but had a Slow Start and could only find enough to form the head before the rest seeped fully into the ecosystem for good. So essentially, Regidrago is incomplete out of little choice. He is a ball of nuclear space fallout to save the land by existing. Although taking into account Eternatus and the tao trio, we may yet see a full team of pokemon fuse back into the Original Dragon. Perhaps in gen 9.
Regigigas: The original, presumably made by arceus to look like a legendary pokemon. Regirock: A walking hunk of rock with arms and legs, really no different than Geodude and more so Graveller when you think about it. Registeel: A walking lump of steel and/or iron or other metal with arms and legs, where did Regigigas get it and how did he make it so smooth? Regice: A floating(???) chunk of ice seemingly haphazardly put together, no different than the fcuking icecream pokemon which also floats for some goddamn reason. Regilectric: A LIGHTBULB, but the light bulb is MADE of ELECTRICITY. Regidrako: IT'S LITERALLY JUST A SHINY CHARIZARD SKULL WITH A SHADOWBALL IN THE CENTER.
According to Regice's pokedex entry, its body is so cold it's basically icescating everywhere, which explains why Regice is so slow, ever tried to run on ice, its difficult.
I keep earing you say that Regielec is "electricity" thus symbolicing the "electricity age", when so many times before you said electric type was "light type" witch could go so much better as the "enlightment", the renaissance, the "age of light" a perfect counterpart for the "dark age" or "age of dragons"

A fun connection too, is the Life Orb. The Life Orb is a magenta crystal sphere that’s very similar to Regidrago. Why it’s easy enough to lean Regidrago and Life Orb to magenta and purple energy, Life Orb is a fairly common item on Dragon Pokémon, Dragons are arcanely powerful and the Life Orb boosts you Pokémon’s power greatly at the cost of its own HP. And what is Regidrago’s highest stat? HP! It has the stamina to pay such a tithe. Or, perhaps Life Orbs are Regidrago’s missing pieces, the components it needs to be complete… like so many Zygarde cells, yet another Dragon needing repair.
Interestingly enough, some fan artists have a concept that dragon-type trainers take on draconic features from their prolonged exposure to dragon Pokémon, that being slited pupils and sharp teeth, the features becoming more pronounced if the family has a tradition of training dragon types
If your grandfather was secretly a Pokemon, then you should be part Pokemon. Specifically, a dragon Pokemon. See if there's a magic special effect thing when you scratch stuff. Or some other dragon attack. Just don't try to summon meteors.

Nice tao trio theory. Makes sense. Not the part that includes regieleki at the end, but I could see it being canon, but the last time the tao trio was mentioned outside of Unova in the games was in X and Y, the statue of reshiram
There are 2 things linking regidrago and regieleki together. their attacks are the most powerful of their types, and they were both sealed (constrained in regieleki’s case)

(Also I’m not the only one who thinks Regidrago is similar to Eternatus, right? They are both dragon types in Galar that are ancient... shoot giant beams of raw energy... can be violent and destructive... maybe Regigas used energy released by Eternatus and captured it in crystals or pieces of Eternatus’ original form, like wishing pieces or wishing stars, and used them to create Regidrago.)
EDIT: Thanks for the replies!

Gathering it together in one place to crystalize it would take an incredible amount of time and energy of it was constantly trying to fly apart, which point as to why:
A: Dragon is weak to itself as a result of this hyperactive particle motion.
