The fact that the Secret Fifth Member of the Forces of Nature is potentially Kyurem itself and with all the recent references to Unova and them adding Enamorus makes me almost convinced that we will be seeing the Original Dragon in some shape or form in the Gen 5 remakes and would be a missed opportunity if they didn't capitalise on it!
@@MoebiusX9 If you asked me I think Zygarde deserves one of these games before Kyurem gets one. Poor thing got half-assed into another generation's regional dex without any proper afterthought.

something else to add into that, somewhat, and also explains the genbu love connection, it was legitimately believed by scholars for quite a long time that turtles could not mate with other turtles, they could only mate with snakes, which is supposedly part of why genbu is both a turtle and a snake intertwined
Actually, screenshots of Scarlet and Violet confirmed that you can use Hisuian Zoroark in the new games. Meaning that they probably won’t all be confined to Legends only.
@@artsydragon4874 it'd make more sense for all the Legends Arceus-only pokemon to be made available in a conventional game rather than just a few. They already have data for their abilities for the sake of future compatibility.

I have a theory as to why Enormous is only seen here. Maybe since it's part of the cardinal detections as the Tortoise and is about love it may have tried to help prevent the splitting apart of the original dragon. Being so close to it when it split may have led to a frenzied dragon attacking it. Leading either to its death or it going into hiding.

While I don't think this has played a large role in its concept, "love" as an elemental force is actually solidly well represented in Greco-Roman mythology. Particularly, it is one of the few forces known to be stronger than Zeus/Jupiter (though more applicable to Zeus) as they are prone to falling prey to their "love" in the form of "lust" on myriad occasions. This is so deeply ingrained in the mythology that Eros is actually portrayed as both older and more powerful than Zeus, while simultaneously being younger and less powerful than Aphrodite. Good times :D
Yeah, if you look at how they were made, Aphrodite would actually be considered a Titan, not a God. Which makes her potentially ALOT more powerful than the other gods. She's just not ambitious enough to take the throne. Also, no way the Greeks would let a woman be in charge.
@@rinthewolf I don't think it would be accurate to even consider aphrodite as a titan since they were all made from a single sperm and a single egg, while she was made from both of Uranos' full testicles combined with the sea.
The "genies" actually look like they were made for Hisui all along. A traditional Japanese region like Hisuis or Johto is a much better fit for them. They dont really feel like they belong to Unova, which is very modern and urbanized. Even Sinnoh would not be that good for them. I bet they would be less unpopular if they were from Hisui or Johto.
Most likely they are originally from Hisui( which is the same place as Sinnoh ), but they just migrated to Unova. At least the original three did, not sure where Enamorus went.
Not alot of pokes feel like they belong to Unova because, to me, Unova can best be explained as representing the fact that USA is a hotch potch of many cultures, a country that is built by immigrants and colonialism. Even Africa gets represented with Blitzle and Zebstrika.
Sinnoh and Hisui are the same location, just at different times. Legendary pokemon are present at all times(because they're immortal or have a way to produce a child before death). So if you think they only really match Sinnoh 200-300 years before DPPL(when PL:A takes place), maybe they'd be even better suited for Unova 2,500-3,000(roughly) years before BW(when the 2 brothers started fighting and the original Unovan dragon split).
Two things I’d like to point out. 1) Despite her seemingly obvious inspiration for her Therian form, unlike the other three, Enamorus’ stomach jewel isn’t the same color as the source. It’s actually green. So she breaks the mold. 2) It also seems pretty obvious with them being shoved into Hisui that Arceus is taking over the unofficial role as the fifth member. The Emperor, the Golden Dragon of the Center is also often expressed as the Qilin/Kirin. That’s generally accepted as a source inspiration for Arceus, as while it’s not a dragon type without its plate, it does share a lot of traits with the dragon trio of its own creation. So a dragon-deer chimera thing, heavily associated with the color yellow, revered as god and ruler of creation, and located in the center of the region…
Landorous's stomach gem isn't White, it's Yellow. It's weird how many people don't realize this. I guess it's because it's gem isn't shown very clearly in it's official art, unlike Thundurus and Tornadus Therian, and it's not like you ever get to really see the stomach, so people just assumed it formed a pattern.
Technically speaking, there is no Divine Beast of the Center. The Four Divine Beasts are manifestations of the Five Forms of the High Emperor, which are the Azure Emperor of the East, the Black (or Dark) Emperor of the North, the White Emperor of the West, the Vermilion Emperor of the South, and the Yellow Emperor of the Center. Each of these Emperor has various forms and associations. The Azure Emperor is wood, spring, and Jupiter; the Black Emperor is water, winter, and Mercury; the White Emperor is metal, autumn, and Venus; the Vermilion Emperor is fire, summer, and Mars; the Yellow Emperor is earth, the cycle of the year, and Saturn. That is merely scratching the surface of their associations. The Emperors all also have Dragon forms, which have the same titles but with Dragon instead of Emperor. The Dragons of the Four Cardinal Directions are the Dragon Kings of the Four Seas, who collectively form the singular ultimate Dragon King, the god Technically speaking, there is no Divine Beast of the Center. The Azure Emperor is wood and spring, the Black Emperor is water, winter, and , the White Emperor is metal and autumn, the Vermilion Emperor is water and weather. The Yellow Emperor/Dragon is one of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, specifically the third Emperor, and is therefore an ancestral god of China. He is also associated with all things earthly, including the underworld, and therefore the Yellow Dragon is the chthonic god as opposed to the Dragon King who rules over all things watery. This is where the Divine Beasts come in. You see, the Four Divine Beasts are actually constellation forms of the Emperors, but the Yellow Emperor doesn't have a constellation. The idea of a Yellow Dragon is simply borrowed from the Five Dragons, and the Yellow Qilin is contrived to add a representation of the Yellow Emperor to the set, despite neither making sense.
for your point on gem colours they can be explained through substitution as using of green instead of black and yellow instead of white is a common practice
3:39 actually Gliscor has a similar usage to landorus, however it's used more defensively thanks to having a reliable recovery (Roost) and Poison heal making him also work as a status and knock off Absorber
Okay but the fact that Enamorous says “amoor” when it roars is amazing because in Spanish “Amor” means love (this also makes me think that the Forces of Nature have ties to the new region in some way)
It's still a mystery on why Enamorus disappeared in the modern world, there's a theory that maybe she stopped visiting Hisui since the old ways were forgotten and abandoned, or moved to Unova with her brethren but went into hiding for unknown reasons.
Actually from the dex entry, none of the forces of nature are native to Unova it seems. Possibly hailing from a different region and enamorus was lost to time but still exists
With the dex entries hinting that none of them are actually native to Unova, and with Enamorus clearly traveling to different regions based on the cold and seasons, its stays away from Sinnoh/Hisui whenever it gets too cold and only comes back in the spring, it doesn't make spring happen, it just follows the warm weather, and with how the other trio are wandering Pokémon that cause or follow weather patterns in Unova in routes as well, it's likely that the four of them are all travelling spirits, not inherently native to any singular region, but having a pattern of travelling between them, following seasonal climate changes and weather patterns, being as they all are travelling wind gods in some form or another, likely they're "natively" from the oceans that exist in-between regions, as oceans and wind patterns tend to be the major forces that control Weather in general The four of them are then all associated with the different cyclical Changes in nature, Tornadus is Changing Wind Currents that circle the earth, Thundurus is the Water Cycle Exchange that goes from cloud to ocean, Landorus is Changing Plant Growth as things seed grow flower and die (or alternatively, the nutrient cycle between producers, consumers/predators etc) and Enamorus is the Change of Seasons/Temperature going from hot warm cool to cold, and this too is represented in how they constantly change from therian to incarnate form They're not just Forces of Nature, they're the Forces of Change in Nature Enamorus just also gets the "Love" Association from its seasonal nature, because Spring is the Major Season that cultures tend to care about most, for a long time Spring marked the beginning of most calendars, as the end of the cold hard times and the re-emergence of the sun and Warmth, Spring becomes associated with new life and fertility, a time when things get reborn, new things grow or hatch or are born, and that is naturally associated with Love and Romance, the main use of Fertility Meaning it's highly likely that Enamorus probably gets associated with Eggs in Pokémon lore to some degree
7:00 That's because the word therian/therium actually means beast in greek, hence why many prehistoric animals have it on their names, like the giant sloth Megatherium. 8:15 In other versions is a unicorn known as Qilin, or Kirin in Japan. 17:15 Fun fact, the Black Tortoise used to be a snake copulating a turtle because in China they used to believe that is how there reproduce. Also Enamorus can also be based on other goddesses of love, like how Aphrodite was push towards land after her birth by the god of wind Zephyrus, and some others like Isthar where related to the sky too. In fact the force of nature might actually represent the one about "getting on", like how many animals mating season occurs during spring.
Wasn't the historical japanese Kirin actually like, a Lion/Dragon thing? I don't know when or how it became mixed up with Unicorns but I think this is the same kind of situation about how Sirens were originally Vultures/Hawks/Large Birds with the heads of Human Women but now when people think Siren they think of mermaids. Edit: actually i just found out its Chinese, not Japanese.
At first, I didn’t like Enamorus because of how new and odd she was, but during the time she was in my party so I could fill out her Pokedex entry, I surprisingly got attached to her. I guess her charm worked in a way I couldn’t see, and now I think she’s just a funky neat addition to the trio. (Edit: Man, I got stuck with porn bots in the replies 😭) (Edit #2: The bots have been defeated! 🙌)
Would love enamorus, kingambit, and the ability to transfer the regional forms of Unova Pokémon over from home but it’s probably gonna be a “faithful” remake unfortunately
I’ve always thought of the Forces 3 as Seasons, despite everything everyone will say. I’ve always thought this. Summer greenery, brown, dead fall, and frozen blue winter. When I heard that Enamorus was also known as the ‘Herald of Spring’ in game, I freaked, seeing as my theory was right. The four seasons.
They are based of the directional guardian beasts from Chinese mythology which themselves are associated with the seasons. Anyone who told you they werent based off the seasons is a moron.
I considered these 4 as the four seasons. Enamourus was Spring, Thundurus was Summer, Landorus was Autumn and Tornadus was Winter considering where they are found. I don't know, I live in the Midwest so we get fiece thunderstorms in the summer and blustering winds in the winter... and the summer. Again, Tornadus kinda ruins this line of thought.
I didn’t know of their “celestial beast” (or whatever you call them) origins but as a farmer 👩🌾 saw them as representing the growing cycle. Tornadus the Spring rain and wind Thundurus the summer thunderstorms Landurous the fall harvest If Tornadus was always intended to represent winter than why isn’t it ice type or in any way related to the concept of winter?
@@FrostyPeppercorn Actually it depends on species. Bigger mammals usually mate dyring autumn. But spring does mean birth of new life or simply new begnings. But plants do reproduce in spring. Cause, you know, flowers, birds and bees
Love is a force of nature. Going back to Greek myth, when the Earth and Sky (Gaia and Ouranos) came to be, the force that held them together was love. There's some more fun stuff here by analysing Atlas and also Aphrodite, but that'd take too much effort for me
I saw Enamorus as the mother or the nurturer. Thundurus and Tornadus create the seed needed to fertilize the soil, Landorus helps in that process and prepares the environment, and Enamorus helps nurture its inhabitants and brings any sort of change needed to help them thrive. It explains why she's a female since any sort of raising or nurturing is often the mother's job. As for her traveling from her home? I thought that maybe it was cause she takes her job so seriously that she willingly goes outside her domain to look after other inhabitants, especially since a caring mom will take just about anyone under her wing, no matter what. In a way, yeah, love is a force of nature. It's not just some metaphorical thing as it's been proven to override rational thinking and basic instincts.
That’s fair, honestly, I like that a lot more. I just thought “oh, they needed a femme version, so of course it was love, of course :|” (I’m jaded, sue me). Thank you for this perspective, I appreciate it.

I swear those pink tornadoes were made of salt because trying to catch her made me SALTY. It took a lot of attempts and I was thinking that those tornadoes were a cheap shot! But I've heard others haven't had a hard time catching any of the legendaries at all.
No, my roommate and I both agree that trying to catch Enamorus was pain and suffering. It's the only time I've died in Legends in a situation that cost me some of my items, and it did so twice! Those damn pink tornados that cause CONFUSION (I love how humans can suffer status effects too now, NOT), the mud, other Pokémon everywhere…it was just hell.
She was really hard for me at first, too. I died multiple times. Then I changed my tactics. Try sneaking up on her with a smoke bomb, and hitting her with a sticky glob before a backstrike catch. It does take all the challenge out of the fight, though.
I always thought of this fourth one as "the restoration" of nature. Since if you think about it, all three of them end up fighting causing alot of havic to nature. And alot of seasonal changes go through something called "hurricane season" and seeing how these pokemon causes not only storms but massive destruction to calm it. (Idk if it is releated but lets say it is a "pokemon thing") Meaning there has to be someone to clean up the mess, and keep everything peaceful. ...idk hope this helps.
Landorus isn't trying to fight, it's just keeping the peace while being ganged up on. It already was the janitor, it just has a friend to help out now.
Plus the poses, 3 brothers "Yeah! I'm so big & tough." Mom *hands on hips "What kinda trouble you gettin up to now?" -_-* Just go wash up for dinner...

If Gen 9 wasn't revealed to be set in a Spain analog, I would definitely think that Enamorus is another hint to the theory that the next Pokemon games is set in a region based on India because, as you mentioned, her Incarnate form has origins from Shiva. When he started talking about the therian forms being the four auspicious beasts I being a massive Digimon nerd instantly thought of the Digimon sovereigns, and the fact that there was an image of them in the video👌. I always like when Digimon is mentioned in a Pokémon video and it not be called a ripoff. Mostly because in my experience anyway it’s very rare for people (that aren’t Digimon fans) to acknowledge Digimon as a separate entity from Pokémon let alone to credit it for something interesting.
I think that thanks to Enamorus, they become the Incarnation of Seasons, Enamorus - Spring Landorus - Autumn (Fall) Thundurus - Summer Tornadous - Winter
Apparently Hisuian Zoroark and, consequently Hisuian Zorua are confirmed for Scarlet and Violet, opening the door for some or all of the Hisui Pokemon to be added to the traditional meta.
Did you know: all members of the forces of nature can learn the move Crunch naturally at Lv. 54 This is most likely a reference to the current working conditions at GF. Like seriously let them take their time for once!
... actually gen nines region might have been in the works for a long time ... I mean maybe not specifics ... but like they've been doing research on Spain for years... arceus might have been the same way... we only see part of the process via media
I can't see Enamorus breaking the meta too hard. See, what makes Landorus so rough is that its Ground typing makes it immune to the Electric-type attacks that its Flying type makes it weak to...while the Flying Type makes it immune to the Ground-type attacks (read: EARTHQUAKE) that could hit it both strongly and neutrally. Likewise, its Ground type allows it to take neutral damage from the Rock-type moves that cripple other Flying type Pokemon...including Stealth Rocks. Its only real downfall is that 4x weakness to Ice-type attacks. ---- Enamorus being immune to Dragon-type attacks is nice, yeah. But it's still gonna be hindered by Stealth Rock, and with 5 solid weaknesses most match-ups will be able to get the drop on it. A Water-type Pokemon with an Ice-type move, plausible sets from a Pelipper or Barraskewda, would have no counter from Enamorus. And a Fini-check Toxapex (giving "Poison Jab" or such to counter Tapu Fini and other strong Fairy-type counters) having the advantage.
Enamorus will definitely see use in a Doubles format as either a Trick Room threat through its Therian form. Heck I could see an Attract gimmick set to mess with opposing Landos.
actually in vgc theiran enamorus could be really game changing because it beats one of the best anti trick room mons and just one of the best pokemon in general in amoongus.having overcoat completely shuts down amoongus since it cant sleep you and it cant redirect with rage powder in fact this is so valuable that some builds of tornadus and thundurus incarnate run safety googles just for this so having that built in is really nice
Enamorus does not have a snake around her neck in her Incarnate form, if you pay attention, it attaches to where her hips/waist is, meaning it is her tail, just like the other three have tails.
I found it a bit odd that you skipped over Toyotama-hime as a possible inspiration. She's a deity who rides a sea turtle, and her myth is associated with birth(aka fertility and love), and many portrayals of her in japanese media have the "heart"-hair that Enamorus has- especially in anime. She's also the grandmother of Jimmu, the first japanese emperor(and his aunt, because her sister married her son).
As an extra bit of interesting information…Enamorus is found in the same area as Spiritomb and given that Spiritomb is mostly evil spirits; the whole facial tattoo makes even more sense.
13:45 supposedly, the heart symbol is supposed to be two hearts pressed up against each other, which would actually make a similar shape. It’s like it symbolizes two hearts intertwined by love.
I think you really missed important context of enqmourous and fertility. Love is fertility. In the spring babies are made to increase populations. I think these are definitely valid forces of nature.
@@zerotodona1495 Snakes being seen as evil or a sin has always been a Christian "thing" while in actuality snakes has always been seen as a symbol of fertility in many many different myths, legends, and religion.
17:58 also, all 5 of the heavenly beasts are connected to one of the five elements: The Azure Dragon is Wood, The Vermilion Bird is Fire, The White Tiger is Metal, The Yellow Emperor is Earth, and The Black Tortoise is Water, which is why I think they used a turtle instead of a tortoise
Something that I like about Enamorus is that thematically she seems like a good counterpart to Landorus and helps counter the power of the other two. While Thundurus and Tornadus embody the destruction of storms, Landorus and Enamorus embody creation and fertility. Additionally, Landorus seems to embody Autumn as the season of harvest, while Enamorus embodies Spring as the season of love and mating.
When i First saw Enamorus, i thought they only added her to have an explanation on why Unova is the only Region with a Seasonal Cycle. But y'know, they are in Hisui, where there is No Seasonal Cycle And also, Enamorus is Spring Thundorus is Summer Landorus is Fall/Autumn Tornadus is Winter That Made me think on what Part of Thundorus would represent Summer. Is it the Thunderstorms? Dont those Happen more in April/May usually? Edit: Forgot to say that i live in Germany, where the Thunderstorms usually Happen at that time. So now i understand why its Summer
I think the timing of thunderstorms differs in every part of the world. Over here, they are usually in the middle of summer, or even at the end of it, after the major heat waves are gone.
Hey, Brazilian here. As you may know, it's summer here in the south. Also, it's the rainiest season. I'm literally sweating in the unbearable heat, hearing distant thunders and seeing dark clouds forming up, while I type this.
Enamorous' therian form does have a green gem on her belly. You can't see it in the picture used in the video, but you can see it in game. The cloud also isn't its body but is around its body, leaving the belly bare.
@@Justic_ I could see that happening. We could learn about the hierarchy that ruled in Unova and N’s ancestry with the previous kings. The wars between kingdoms and having to use Kyruem to unify the nations or something along those lines.
Enamorous does have a green gemstone on her stomach. I do love her humanoid design, but I do wish the Therian form had a tortoise shell incorporated into it, and the snake partly wrapping around the neck and shell. The other Therian forms aren’t covered entirely by clouds so I’m interested as to why it was made that way for her.
Enamorus’s pokedex entry reminded me of Persephone, who’s ascent out of the Underworld brings spring and new life back to the earth. In Ancient Greek texts Persephone is also thought to be a bit vengeful, she’s a queen of the dead and co-ruler of the Underworld and was sometimes called Dread Persephone.
It’s a bit of a stretch, but when I first saw enamorus and how it has the heart shaped symbols and the snake tail, one of the first things that came to mind was the snake that tempted eve to eat the apple, but I guess there would be more to it than just that
Utmost respect for a researcher who can get over his dislike of something and really science the hell out of it for the purpose of learning something worthwile and teaching it to others. Thank you for being such a person!
I would assume that the eastern inspirations take precedence in enamorus design, but the feminine love associated creature with a snake gave me eve and the serpent of eden vibes. She and Landorus are the gardeners, Adam and eve, thunderous is cain as he has type advantage over tornados (abel)
I have to say that if it was a male I would 100% associate it with the serpent of eden and the devil in general, specially since he is usually very feminine in children media(Powerpuff girls, Cow and chicken, Courage the cowardly dog, even the new Cuphead show) maybe to say "gay is bad!!!" or something, but when I first saw her the first character I thought of was HIM from PPG. I can't unsee it
Did anyone else notice that in PLA that the main 4 locations line up with the celestial beasts? Obsidian Fieldlands - Black Tortoise. Crimson Mirelands - Vermillion Bird. Cobalt Coastlands - Azure Dragon. Alabaster Icefields - White Tiger. Crowns are typically GOLDEN, so the Coronet Highlands would align well with the Yellow Dragon.
They don't. White Tiger is West, not North, and Black Tortoise is North, not West. Also, if this were the case Tornadus would be in the Mirelands, and Enamorus in the Icelands, but instead the opposite is true.
@🌸Ivy🌸 Are you high? How the hell are the Alabaster Icelands in the South? And even if they were, that would mean Thunderus and Landorus would be in the wrong locations, because East and West would be flipped as well.
I think, that now the forces of nature could also represent the 4 seasons, especially when you consider in which regions you find them in Legends Arceus and that they now have a fire (summer), ice (winter), wind (fall) associated moves, while Enamorus accompinies spring.
They are based off the seasons / direction guardian beasts of Chinese mythology. They even tell you they were the seasons in the game. Their alt forms are the guardian beasts themselves.
Man, i Love the forces of nature. I've never played competitive, so that's that. They just look freaky and cool and have such an interesting dynamic to their interaction with one another.
If Enamorous looked like how it did in your thumbnail, I SWEAR TO GOD, EVERYBODY WOULD’VE LOVED IT! Like, they looked so much better in the thumbnail than they did in the game-
The excessively-pronounced lipstick in the main game is actually unsettling. The lessening of it is def part of why this design works way better. (I know it’s a reference to the face tattoos, but I still think it could have been done a better way
I’ve been calling about the 4 Weather ORUS Therion forms being the 4 DIVINE BEAST since I learned about ENAMORUS Therion forms!!!! IT FITS TOO PERFECTLY!!!!
The thumbnail of this video is the closest I've ever been to enjoying the existance of the Forces of Nature. I always thought their origin was cool but everything about them went downhill after that.
Agree with you. Their origin and inspirations its the only thing I kinda like, witch makes them even more of a dissapointment in a way. An Enamorus desing din't help.
@@Florceleste28 For some reason i think they kinda want to give her boobs (hot woman design to equivalent the other 3 hot man design), but since the other is top naked. It wouldn't be good both child-friendly wise and r34 wise

It took me awhile to understand why I liked the fanart for Enamorus, and realized they gave her an actual mouth besides the lipstick, I saw an edit where they gave her a normal mouth without the lipstick and that looked so much better
Pokemon legends kyurem with all three dragons fused, the old kingdom that gthesis and N were from... and now this quartet! I really hope we get this. If we also is remakes for gen 5, I'd call them Pitch Black & Pure White
There's so much of gen 5 in legends arceus. Gen 5 pokemon, legendaries, even a character from Gen 5! I can't help be feel like they're (hopefully) hinting towards a gen 5 legends game.
8:02 I think it could also be Giratina considering how Tornadus and Thundurus are based on Fūjin and Raijin - they're sons of Izanami and Giratina seems to be the member of the Creation Trio most inspired by her.
@@Starriaaa I dunno. I kinda feel like the difficulty curve for catching the legendaries was all over the place. Shaymin? I caught her in one great ball at full health. Cresselia? I got killed multiple times. Just a bit of consistency would've been good so I knew what to bring to the encounters.
I was not expecting to see Teepo today in my Pokemon video discussing Pink Genbu. Still happy to see that our favorite demented sock peanut made friends with Rayquaza though.
0:17 Dark Lugia didn't get a National Pokedex number, but the Hisuian evolutions and Enamorus did. But what if the Original Dragon was the equivalent to the Yellow Dragon? But the Kami trio (Now quartet) is even stupider when you realize that if they wanted to do a weather spirit legendary back in gen 5, they had the perfect inspiration right there: Hé-no, the Iroquois thunder spirit. It's pretty weird that the state of NY has been trying to advertise its tourism a lot the past few years and has never capitalized on the fact that they have a Thor like being from legend.
I'm gonna be honest, while I wasn't initially a fan of the Incarnate form (I still think It could have been better designed visually), I loved the Therian Forme. Even before I remembered the other kami's Therian Formes, I saw her design and shouted "Genbu!" after seeing it. And I could instantly tell it was a soft-shelled turtle from it's weird snout and its duck flippers. I thought it was really cool, and it honestly helped me realize the theme the other Forces of Nature were going for.
Actually, if it were Kyurem, then it would also be another hint towards the alchemical origins of the original dragon. The Black, White, Yellow, and Red gems can be seen as a call to the four stages of the Philosopher's Stone. Though, I don't know what the blue gem would specifically refer to.
1) i kinda thought enamorus was the fertility part of landorus's inari inspiration. since as you pointed out. inari can be a woman as well, depending who painted them 2) some soft shell turtles also have long necks. ancient people who didnt know better propably thought there was a snake inside the turtle, making it so that the soft shelled turtle got separated into two distinct animals in art and the four symbols 3) im unsure, but i think turtles, at least the long necked ones ALSO symbolize fertility in japan. im not 100% certain on this, but ive come across some shows where turtles are equated with sex, making me think this. making the turtle even more perfect animal form for one enamorus
As much as I’m not the biggest fan of Enamorus’ design, I’m just happy we’re getting more love for the Weather Trio. It gives me the same feeling I got when got new Reggies, only this time they look more hideous.
Six months later and I just now discovered this Pokémon existed… looking forward to my steampunk Dark Cloud-esc inspired Legends Victini game where we finally see the full Kyurem.
The fact that I didnt played Legends and neither saw the new mon who wasnt in promotions, this is the second time a Lockstin analyzis actually surprised me af. Bassicly my reaction was exactly like his in the beggining of the video lol. THEY ADDED ANOTHER ONE.
A lot of Lockstin's videos that involve Unova also relate to alchemy. Saying that, I think it would be cool if Lockstin did a full video explaining alchemy and all the Pokemon connections to it along with speculation about future ties that might appear in the games.
Enamorous just makes me think of the godess of life in Adventure Time. Probably because of the snake. I think the character also served as a godess of love in the series
I realized when I saw Enamorus that These were based on the four Direction Beasts Tornadus: Vermillion Phoenix Thundurus: Azure Dragon Landorus: White Tiger Enamorus: Black Turtle Maybe the final member will be either a Kirin or the original dragon
The OG Dragon has nothing to do with The Genies since it’s the third member of the Tao Trio and the OG Dragon is just a frozen dragon with missing parts and now is resting in giant chasm.
0:10 immediately disproven given how 1.) I highly doubt they would just omit brand new species of Pokemon to being just part of one singular game & 2.) Zorua & Zoroark's Hisuian forms have been outright confirmed to be transferable to Scarlet & Violet.
@@mbcmechachu If you didn't visit the website you wouldn't know cause it wasn't in the trailer, might explain it if he had only seen the presents video.
An interesting detail is how, Kyurem is super effective against all of them to keep.them In check as the Golden Emperor. As well as how each Kami can be put in a duo. Tornadus and Thunderus as destructive weather, and Landorus and Enamorus as forces of life
I personally saw references to Lilith in Enamorus, notably to its depiction by Kazuma Kaneko in the SMT / Persona series. Same snake around the neck (as a reference to the garden of Eden snake I believe), obvious relation to love, etc!
I think of it like this the 4 of them are siblings and enamorus is the "innocent" little sister who plays pranks on thunderous and tornadus when try to retaliate she runs to the eldest brother landorus who protects her. Hence the poem in legends about her heralding spring or following landorus.
I personally have a theory about why their are Unova Pokémon in Hisui and it really boils down to Origin Cave in Unova. The description of it claims that the cave connects to Sinnoh. So this means that Unova is relatively close. Close enough that Zorua and Zoroark could travel there through an underground network, Basculine can swim there and Barviary can migrate there.
I thought it was Time/Space Distortions with Unova being on the opposite side of the globe as Sinnoh. Some sort of magic tunnel connecting them, you also see a similar kind of space tunnel in Naruto The Last Movie leading to The Moon.
Unova might’ve colonized or fought Sinnoh in the past, like the US with Japan (although at totally different periods but eh), explaining the big number of gen 5 Pokemons that are present in Hisui. That or Game Freaks wanted to make up for how little Gen 5 alternative forms there were in previous games
19:54 ben ten is more often depicted as a young man with a wrist worn device that transforms him into various difference intelligent species that have abilities that put humans to shame
The "We're gonna get two more. I'm tired man" That hits xD But yeah, would definitely be interesting. Makes me wonder what other legends may return But, when discussing this quartet, I always link back into Megami Tensei. Genbu/Xuan Wu is a demon/Persona I always remember, and the other four, Qing Long, Zhuque, Baihu, and Huang Long, in SMTV, the quests to defeat the five (Huang Long/Kohryu gives one to find the other four, then challenges you to defeat him) were quite memorable to me given the fact they're early game (well, Huang Long is high level and you have to return to him, but still, first area) Always find it cool when MegaTen and Pokemon reference the same mythologies and I can recognise the stories and understand the mon better
The fact that the Secret Fifth Member of the Forces of Nature is potentially Kyurem itself and with all the recent references to Unova and them adding Enamorus makes me almost convinced that we will be seeing the Original Dragon in some shape or form in the Gen 5 remakes and would be a missed opportunity if they didn't capitalise on it!

something else to add into that, somewhat, and also explains the genbu love connection, it was legitimately believed by scholars for quite a long time that turtles could not mate with other turtles, they could only mate with snakes, which is supposedly part of why genbu is both a turtle and a snake intertwined

"Love conquers all", why Fairy is strong over Dragon, and Dark,
but weak to the Poison of Jealousy or a Steel dagger through the heart.
Yeah, if you look at how they were made, Aphrodite would actually be considered a Titan, not a God. Which makes her potentially ALOT more powerful than the other gods. She's just not ambitious enough to take the throne. Also, no way the Greeks would let a woman be in charge.
"Love is the force that set in motions stars and everything else"
Yes, and while called a Goddess, Aphrodite is technically a titan.
@@rinthewolf
I don't think it would be accurate to even consider aphrodite as a titan since they were all made from a single sperm and a single egg, while she was made from both of Uranos' full testicles combined with the sea.
Could be a reference to much of the eastern influence that went into building America, like how Sawk and Throh are wearing gi
@@DarkAngelEU Hodgepodge* just so you know for later!
Arceus could also be inspired by Urcuchillay, a multi colored Llama god in Inca mythology.
*dragon giraffe as kirin is just the japanese word for giraffe now, he does have two horns and a long neck lol

Okay but the fact that Enamorous says “amoor” when it roars is amazing because in Spanish “Amor” means love (this also makes me think that the Forces of Nature have ties to the new region in some way)
well, we might have them as dlc
It's still a mystery on why Enamorus disappeared in the modern world, there's a theory that maybe she stopped visiting Hisui since the old ways were forgotten and abandoned, or moved to Unova with her brethren but went into hiding for unknown reasons.
There's a piece of old lore in PL:A that states it hates the cold, and Sinnoh got colder overtime. That at least explains it not being in that region.
It could be that it suffer the same fate that Calyrex would had suffered if it wasn't for the player- They were forgotten.
Actually from the dex entry, none of the forces of nature are native to Unova it seems. Possibly hailing from a different region and enamorus was lost to time but still exists
With the dex entries hinting that none of them are actually native to Unova, and with Enamorus clearly traveling to different regions based on the cold and seasons, its stays away from Sinnoh/Hisui whenever it gets too cold and only comes back in the spring, it doesn't make spring happen, it just follows the warm weather, and with how the other trio are wandering Pokémon that cause or follow weather patterns in Unova in routes as well, it's likely that the four of them are all travelling spirits, not inherently native to any singular region, but having a pattern of travelling between them, following seasonal climate changes and weather patterns, being as they all are travelling wind gods in some form or another, likely they're "natively" from the oceans that exist in-between regions, as oceans and wind patterns tend to be the major forces that control Weather in general
The four of them are then all associated with the different cyclical Changes in nature, Tornadus is Changing Wind Currents that circle the earth, Thundurus is the Water Cycle Exchange that goes from cloud to ocean, Landorus is Changing Plant Growth as things seed grow flower and die (or alternatively, the nutrient cycle between producers, consumers/predators etc) and Enamorus is the Change of Seasons/Temperature going from hot warm cool to cold, and this too is represented in how they constantly change from therian to incarnate form
They're not just Forces of Nature, they're the Forces of Change in Nature
Enamorus just also gets the "Love" Association from its seasonal nature, because Spring is the Major Season that cultures tend to care about most, for a long time Spring marked the beginning of most calendars, as the end of the cold hard times and the re-emergence of the sun and Warmth, Spring becomes associated with new life and fertility, a time when things get reborn, new things grow or hatch or are born, and that is naturally associated with Love and Romance, the main use of Fertility
Meaning it's highly likely that Enamorus probably gets associated with Eggs in Pokémon lore to some degree
Unless cogita the quest lady actually did keep enamorus after our player char died that why it no longer free like the other genies
I agree with that last part. Women are considered symbols of fertility. This is definitely a child friendly innuendo.
Also, doesn't Ishtar have some connection to Aphrodite?
Wasn't the historical japanese Kirin actually like, a Lion/Dragon thing?
I don't know when or how it became mixed up with Unicorns but I think this is the same kind of situation about how Sirens were originally Vultures/Hawks/Large Birds with the heads of Human Women but now when people think Siren they think of mermaids.
Edit: actually i just found out its Chinese, not Japanese.
I do wonder if she's also a little symbolism of Eve and the Serpent

Thundurus and Tornadus create the seed needed to fertilize the soil, Landorus helps in that process and prepares the environment, and Enamorus helps nurture its inhabitants and brings any sort of change needed to help them thrive. It explains why she's a female since any sort of raising or nurturing is often the mother's job. As for her traveling from her home? I thought that maybe it was cause she takes her job so seriously that she willingly goes outside her domain to look after other inhabitants, especially since a caring mom will take just about anyone under her wing, no matter what.

Likewise, its Ground type allows it to take neutral damage from the Rock-type moves that cripple other Flying type Pokemon...including Stealth Rocks. Its only real downfall is that 4x weakness to Ice-type attacks.
----
Enamorus being immune to Dragon-type attacks is nice, yeah.
That feels wrong to say lol
I think you really missed important context of enqmourous and fertility. Love is fertility. In the spring babies are made to increase populations. I think these are definitely valid forces of nature.
It’s closer to lust than love. Snake is Christian for sin after all. Lilith and eve were tricked by Satan as a snake.

19:28 I can't be the only person who thought he said Ben-10 (the cartoon) Island, right?

Something that I like about Enamorus is that thematically she seems like a good counterpart to Landorus and helps counter the power of the other two. While Thundurus and Tornadus embody the destruction of storms, Landorus and Enamorus embody creation and fertility. Additionally, Landorus seems to embody Autumn as the season of harvest, while Enamorus embodies Spring as the season of love and mating.
When i First saw Enamorus, i thought they only added her to have an explanation on why Unova is the only Region with a Seasonal Cycle.
But y'know, they are in Hisui, where there is No Seasonal Cycle
And also,
Enamorus is Spring
Thundorus is Summer
Landorus is Fall/Autumn
Tornadus is Winter
That Made me think on what Part of Thundorus would represent Summer.
Is it the Thunderstorms?
Dont those Happen more in April/May usually?
Edit: Forgot to say that i live in Germany, where the Thunderstorms usually Happen at that time. So now i understand why its Summer

Where I'm from, thunderstorms happen from the end of spring all through summer. Lots of them in July.

So that begs the question, when are we getting Kyurem’s true form?
in plk
@@Justic_ I could see that happening. We could learn about the hierarchy that ruled in Unova and N’s ancestry with the previous kings. The wars between kingdoms and having to use Kyruem to unify the nations or something along those lines.
@@Justic_ really hope they just port the gen 5 games to the switch then make a legends Kyrem
is the original dragon even called "Kyurem" or is Kyurem just an extra that popped into existence when Reshiram and Zekrom split?
@@THGMR-ox7sd Kyurem is just an extra.
I suppose because it looks slightly more "mistic/galactic"
I was referring to the colors, not the directions...
I think, that now the forces of nature could also represent the 4
seasons, especially when you consider in which regions you find them in
Legends Arceus and that they now have a fire (summer), ice (winter),
wind (fall) associated moves, while Enamorus accompinies spring.
They are based off the seasons / direction guardian beasts of Chinese mythology. They even tell you they were the seasons in the game. Their alt forms are the guardian beasts themselves.
To everything, turn turn turn
There is a season, turn turn turn
When you talked about the color of their gems I immediately thought of Kyurem's yellow gem on his head
Man, i Love the forces of nature.
I've never played competitive, so that's that. They just look freaky and cool and have such an interesting dynamic to their interaction with one another.

When Enamourous symbolizes the beginning of spring and Landorous a good harvest and thus fall, can Thundurus and Tornadus be interpreted as summer and winter weather?
It took me awhile to understand why I liked the fanart for Enamorus, and realized they gave her an actual mouth besides the lipstick, I saw an edit where they gave her a normal mouth without the lipstick and that looked so much better
Pokemon legends kyurem with all three dragons fused, the old kingdom that gthesis and N were from... and now this quartet! I really hope we get this.
If we also is remakes for gen 5, I'd call them
Pitch Black

Pure White

i am so glad that i wasnt the only one to see what they were supposed to be.
Who else can appreciate that they chose to make this quartet particularly annoying to catch?
Not as much as i appreciate him using digimon as an image
That's probably how they want the roaming Pokémon mechanic to be nowadays, also happened with the Galarian birds.
Galarian Moltres ptsd*
I thought they should’ve did this for all the legendaries tbh
1) i kinda thought enamorus was the fertility part of landorus's inari inspiration. since as you pointed out. inari can be a woman as well, depending who painted them
2) some soft shell turtles also have long necks. ancient people who didnt know better propably thought there was a snake inside the turtle, making it so that the soft shelled turtle got separated into two distinct animals in art and the four symbols
3) im unsure, but i think turtles, at least the long necked ones ALSO symbolize fertility in japan. im not 100% certain on this, but ive come across some shows where turtles are equated with sex, making me think this. making the turtle even more perfect animal form for one enamorus
I have done cyber stuff with a turtle before, although never realized that they symbolized fertility in Japan.

I love enamorous and how her lipstick mimics the mustache of the other genies

But, when discussing this quartet, I always link back into Megami Tensei. Always find it cool when MegaTen and Pokemon reference the same mythologies and I can recognise the stories and understand the mon better
