Started playing with this software (trial) and am impressed so far just need to put the hours in and find my way around - your video definitely points me in the right direction, thanks

Black lines at the edge. In "Distortion" check "Constrain to image". Used to be default.

Yeah... I kind of like the new behaviour for it .. but thanks for that... Good to know if I need it.

@@dxflow3271 check the size of your output image. With the wrong combination of crop and constrain you can lose MP.

I found, on the distortion tab, advanced setting, tick constrain to image and it fixes the sides.

Thanks for that. I kind of like having it show the black areas... But I knew there would be a way.

Where is the Reshape option coming from? - I can't find it in the standard version of Photolab 6.

Sorry. I have all the extras installed. It is no doubt part of Viewpoint. I just get used to my tools and don't always remember to call it out. Cheers

Hi, i’m using a fuji xh2 + C1 and i would start using dxo cause the cost of C1 is too expensive…
I mainly convert al my raw files in black and white.
    Whath are your thoughts?

Hi there @Federico . I totally know what you mean. I had C1 for a number of years but stopped in 2021 after their first price restructure. Lovely software but poor cost structure. I think if you are primarily into B&W you have two main options in the DxO world. Photolab on its own will have some basic b&w tools, but to get the best options (different renderings, channel mixer, film grain simulations etc.) you need to have film pack too. So it is not cheap to get setup. That said, while they do release new versions of PL every year (which you can upgrade or not based on if the older version is meeting your needs) the film pack hasn't historically been upgraded often - so once you have it is seems to be current for a while (read cost savings). The other way to go would be to do PL plus NiK collection - which of course comes with the well regarded and powerful silver efex plugin. Either way it won't be cheap to get started, but it is much less on an ongoing basis. Just as a PSA there will almost certainly be a new version of NiK collection coming out in June. The next release of PL won't be till around October. Please note all of this is off the top of my head, so please do double check any info I have provided. Cheers and go well.
