You could definitely drive that RV! Story time! In September 2019 I was helping a friend in her TV pilot. She asked me if I could drive a small van… I said “ya sure” then she sent me the next size up which was a slightly larger van… I looked at it and said “I guess so?” Next thing I know she has be picking up a maxi motorhome!! Now I am a commercial truck/bus driver for the film/tv industry. I can GUARANTEE with your driving experience you could drive that RV NO PROBLEM!!!!
I love your videos so much. They are always so humble and genuine unlike most influencers nowadays. One of the only channels I’ve kept up with and continue to. 👍🏻👍🏻 I too, for 3 years full time live in a 5th wheel with my 2 year old wife and dogs. We love it.

You inspired me to go all offgrid, with a tent a bicyle and a few other things to survive. Wonderful personality and extremely inspirational. Traveling like this is hard work as it is, especially if you have a online remote job, the only way you made such great content while living like that was through hard ass work. Dear Nikki, I've been following your channel since the first week in January, 2020. I was hospitalized and my dog Rusty (who could have been a littermate of Camper, judging by looks) was hit by a truck and died. I've been out of the hospital and recovering. My son Jeff found me Enzo, a bit smaller than Camper and Rusty, but you two really helped me through mourning. Enzo camps, hikes, fishes and spends all his time with me. If I were moving into a four wheeled vehicle, I'd want a small van like the VW California (available in Europe) or the VW Buzz coming in 18 months. I think you should move up but not too much up. If you can make the Prius work, any camper a bit bigger will be wonderful. Just a thought. I hope your knee heals. .. Barry

Several years ago our USAF son and his family were stationed at Hanscomb Air Base near Boston. They lived in Nashua, NH. I found the architecture there to be quite fascinating. Boston is a great city. My son and I walked the Patriot Trail. Many stories about how we experienced Boston. Years ago gas pumps made a”ding” every time a gallon was pumped. If gas pumps still did that, and you had that Winnebago, the sound of the gas pump would probably drive you crazy.
Somehow I stumbled upon this channel. I am so glad I did. You are an inspiration to so many. Your general joy and beautiful smile makes watching you very easy.
The first 4x4 camper seems to be more your speed. You can stealth camp and get to harder to reach places, which you seem to enjoy. Perfect size for you and Camp.
But, She would have to get out side to go into the camper or cab. And In bad weather that is not fun and as far as safety....the class C or even the Prius is better.
She'll need a new job just to pay for the gas.
That looked like you had a great weekend. Out of the rigs you’ve shown us I’m favoring the Van. It seems easy to handle and it has room and it’s a 4x4 and it’s the perfect size. Love your content.
She has tried two vans, a Toyota mini van and a Sprinter, and not looked at more Sprinters.

When you said "I'm meeting my friend who is the van guru" I thought "cool, a lot of good people are out there who know vanlife from front to back, so no doubt you know a great van life guru, but I don't know if there is anyone who is THE van life guru". Then Jarod appeared on camera and my reaction was pretty much just this: "Oh sh it it's Jarod. Yeah, I think he comes real, real close to being THE vanlife guru, since he has seen and built so many rigs over years and years of living that life".

I really respect your measured approach to figuring out what your next move is in terms of choosing a nomadic vehicle to live in. I did the same thing, it took me a long time to choose.
Ultimately I choose a 148 Transit T250 for the turning radius, ride comfort, ease of repair and the ability to convert it to a real deal 4x4 w/ Ford raptor parts, not all wheel drive like the newer transits.

I remember you mentioning your preference for driving smaller vehicles. More interior space than a Prius would be more comfortable. That Toyota Sienna hybrid seemed about right.

Can't remember, but wasn't it FWD only. If it was AWD then I would say yeah go to it but at this point she has way more money than I thought she for an upgrade, so I think one of the small to mid sized diesel Sprinter 4x4s with solar would be better.
Being able to get an awd sienna hybrid is a game of either paying insane markup or giving an honest dealer a deposit to get a future allocation, which might come before society collapses.
Campers face is more of a “ I don’t care where we live mom as long as I’m with you “ kinda face 😊😊🥰🥰🥰
I hope you get a decked out van or van based RV. I would still love to see a tricked out hybrid RAV4, Highlander, or Sienna minivan setup for camping. For full time living I'm sure you want something larger.

Building my own stealth RV (SRV) with a box truck so its like a Class C. Lots of room for activities!

I love your videos. It's so hard to even try and recommend a new vehicle for you and Camper. I think a Hybrid Sienna or Rav 4 might be a good compromise. Hard to find them at a reasonable price right now though. That camper is amazing but especially with the price of gas right now, the fuel costs would be way more than the Prius. Dilemma! I wish you luck and give Camper kisses for me, he's an amazing Doggo!

I strongly agree with you on this one and I also hope Toyota made a plugin version of the Sienna to even add more awesomeness to it!
I've always marveled at your being "comfortable" in that small Prius space. You were always doing a lot of work to reconfigure things for the next activity, whatever it was gonna be. Having a larger frame and not as flexible as you are, I would have a tough time living like that. If you can get comfortable driving and maneuvering a larger vehicle, I think you might like having a real on-board kitchen and bathroom and very little need for frequent reconfigure operations -- which would give you more time to enjoy other activities. Choose carefully and enjoy whichever you choose.
Nikki, IMO some good tires and ground clearance is good enough. You can live without the 4x4, plus it's cheaper and better mileage without that weight.
That water looks so inviting when your living in an area with a daily summer heat index of 105+. I was in upstate NY camping earlier this month with highs in the mid 70’s/ lows in the low 40’s.
WOW! You and Camper and friends are ssuch a KICK!!! LOVED it! I had an older version of that RV.... drove OK, but BIG.. for me anyways.. amazing something that bug got 16 mpg though. It was great to get to see the Van builds and yes 144 - 148 size would be OK:) ALL THE BEST and Cheers from the other side, cooler PNWest :)

I think in the end of it all the Van may eventually win 😂, coz the Winnebago and the truck are awesome but must be more annoying to drive around than that Van from a few episodes ago which is like a good middle ground between space and functionality. I can live for my whole life in the new camper van, life is to wander and wonder each moment of it, great to see an awesome upgraded camper van, more space for more luxurious expeditions.
Niki, you're obviously looking for something that's dependable, gets reasonable fuel milage, has 4x4 capability and has storage capacity. Would you consider a towed vehicle such as a camper? You can drop it where you want and just utilize the tow vehicle to get around. I did this with my 5th wheel for awhile, but that's obviously much bigger than you would want. But an SUV or smaller truck with a small Pop-up Camper would be much more maneuverable and get better fuel milage while allowing for everything you get from a bigger camper. Just a thought.

Nikki, I'd recommend a Roadtrek 170! Standing, 17ft long, looks like a passenger van so you can park it mostly anywhere and drive it easily anywhere!

East coast is beautiful, serene, cool, and lots of fun. Camper is loving it, tail definitely wagging the dog. Seriously you could never Have a boyfriend as long as you have Camp, he’s madly in love with you. So cute. He really feels that he’s your life partner and that’s because he is. And rightfully so, he’s more loyal, cuter, braver, and more affectionate than most humans.

My niece moved from a honda odyssey to a F350 crew utl truck, and a camper! now she has 4x4 and ground clearance! Shes buying a small little honda crf250 she still needs a bumper carrier for, to use to run around and get to more inaccessible places for even truck!
Her brother my nephew, went with a Jeep Wrangler 4xE? Hes got a little scamp he tows hes starting his adventures 4th of july weekend! Hes lived in his scamp for the past year while he down sized and sold off everything in his storage locker!

It's been fun watching You and Camper. If you've been wandering what vehicle to change to, you might want to ask yourself what makes your channel successful? 1. A young lady living in her subcompact car with a stray pup. 2. Surviving everyday challenges with the bare minimum supplies. 3. Keeping a positive attitude while facing the problems that living in a subcompact car create. 4. Have you inspired people have ended up living in a subcompact car? YES. Yes your old Prius is worn out! Camper seems happiest in your old Prius. Upgrade to a newer Prius or a small SUV? Maybe let Camper decide?
I own one of these Winnebago Views. It's actually not that difficult to drive. A lot easier compared to other bigger RVs. Glad you got to experience one!

My opinion even though you didn't ask, Van life would be cool and the van you was in with your mom would be cool. Indoor shower and toilet and as you're traveling if it's raining pull into camp and no need to get out in the rain. Just a thought 😊

When I was considering living spaces. I considered a Chevy Suburban. It drives like a pickup truck but has the functionality of a van. My other option was a school bus conversion. You can set it up any way you want. It has decent off road abilities, plenty of room for solar and storage.
One of my buddies would sleep in his prius and shower in the building I owned. I used the property for a car dealership and gave him the keys to the place it was a 4000 Sq ft brick building but he preferred to sleep in his car 🤣. I told him to sleep inside it had 4 huge offices furnished but I think he was kind of scared of the place.
