I would say the Sienna, it just makes the most sense with fuel prices the way they are and will be.
Plus if it's the Sienna with Prius capabilities, you have use of the heater and AC full time.

The Sprinter is a very worthy upgrade. A Sprinter allows you to actually live in it rather than feeling like you’re camping year round. Plus you can off-road much better than a Prius and still fit in average parking spaces.

Loved my Sprinter but when it hit 200k it got very expensive to repair. Very nice tho. Maybe mine was built on a Monday.

First off, your dad/daughter adventures are my favorite!! As a 60 yr old who's getting ready to travel & live in my car full time, your videos are super helpful!! So many helpful hints, useful accessories, great destinations, you cover it all! If getting a new vehicle was an option for me, I would def choose the sprinter. Although gas is outrageous, it seems to be the best option for staying put, in one place, for longer visits.

I’d go with the Sienna. It’s the most economical. It has more room than your Prius but can go to all the places. With some clever design and some plywood, you could make a very clever and usable home.
That’s what I’m thinking. Check for design flaws, buy one, solar, storage battery, plywood config, window covers,, avg. 19 mpg. The cavernous booty on this vehicle, minus the rear seats, is where to store lots. The hybrid setup is nice tho - run the A/C without running the motor. Probably can be done in other good ways tho. I was thinking of spending -$8k on the vehicle and look for a seamless powertrain.
I lived in a Toyota Sienna for nearly a year in sunny Florida. Enjoyed every minute of it. I removed 2 seats and rented a tiny storage unit for a few of my larger items. Plenty of room in this vehicle. Very comfortable and reliable, with reasonable gas mileage too. Good luck on your adventures!

Love your dad's free and adventurous spirit. We can sure see his little girl got it from him. Now take care of that knee. I'm dealing with a nasty heel spur right now and it's limiting my extra activities. Also work on my feet 40+ hours a week. While you have to keep moving to stay young you also have to know your limitations at any given point in time.

Sprinter for the win. As someone who has worked on all of them , builds homes for 26 years , trust me. Sprinter. Even an empty sprinter you get built out how you want over time. That would be my actual suggestion. I mean if money is no issue then do whatever. But otherwise you already know you can get by with so little , a sprinter is the most affordable to work on , most affordable to buy , easiest to customize , just a fact.
Friends of our have a Sprinter and it's an awesome vehicle. They've been all over this country - several times. And they're not as horrible on gas as you'd think. They're semi-aerodynamic...
I've got 42 years in the car business, affordable to work on? I don't know about that, just getting parts seems to be a real pain in the ass, Amazon has a lot of these things and we do their fleetwork I know

Had an Amazon driver leave the parking brake on and some how drove around like this , burnt up everything in the back including wheel bearings took 2 weeks to get all the parts, maybe more. Mercedes is not cheap to fix either. My Vote would be for Toyota

I'd vote for the Toyota Highlander Hybrid. Staying in the hybrid type vehicle will safeguard you against paying for those high gas prices. Your trip with your dad was so much fun to watch, but for you it must have been awesome. I really enjoyed the campfire scene where Camper is so tired and sitting on your lap with his head on your shoulder, you two were meant for each other. Safe travels Nikki, safe trips and pet Camper for me.

4x4 sprinter is hands down my favorite. Off road ready and room enough to walk around in but not so large it’s cumbersome. Fuel mileage is good for a large vehicle but diesel is more expensive. The reliability and longevity are good. The Sienna AWD would be my second choice. Knowing what you did with the space in a Prius you would make the Sienna comfortable. The fuel mileage on hybrid Sienna is pretty amazing. It would be a stealth camper because it would a camper disguised as a soccer mom car!😂 Stay away from Ram! Any Ram!

I have never gone wrong eating at places that have their menus on a chalkboard. The ore pit reminds me of parts of northern Minnesota where mining has been a way of life for many years. Another great video!
The Sprinter was, by far, my favorite. It has all the comforts of home on wheels. Plus it would be much better for showers in the winter. That said, I think the Sienna would be the much more economical choice and it has plenty of room.

I think the Sprinter or the mini van makes the most sense. I wouldn't spend prebuilt money on a sprinter though, I would do a DIY build, but I understand that is a huge undertaking as wel.

I'd go with a sprinter. Not the one you tested for sure.. THat's crazy expensive. But a high top sprinter, shorter wheel base that you can build out yourself? Seems like it would be a winner.
Right now, the least expensive vehicle I can find is ironically a 4x4 sprinter (how that is possible, I have no idea hahahah) so we will see!!!!!!

I personally would go for the Sienna but considering you live out of it full-time there is a lot of advantages to the pre setup Sprinter van gives a lot more conveniences although the gas prices will be far higher but you get a lot of amenities I think the pop-up would be amazing for weekend getaways but after a while I think popping up the camper and putting it down with start to get annoying

If you want to keep hitting a new place all the time, stay small. Stay hybrid but maybe look at 4x4 and you will automatically have more space, fun, ability. And a higher seat might be easier on the knee if it's the right height.
I think the Highlander Hybrid could be a good match too. I wonder what the fuel mileage difference is between the Highlander and the Sienna?

Out of the choices you've seen, if I were in your position, I would go for the Sienna. It's more room than you currently have (by perhaps 2x), and it comes close in fuel mileage. The other two choices are going to be a HUGE change in fuel consumption, and will hit your pocket hard. They're nice, and more 'luxurious', but the pickup/truck camper route comes with two costs (truck + camper) that can be a huge cost up front. And a huge cost up front is also the Sprinter. It's gorgeous, but way too pricey in my book. Plus the Sienna has Toyota quality, which is abhuge plus. Just my opinion.

It's so nice to see a young adult spend time with your family! So many people our age have nothing to do with their parents.
Sprinter all the way. I just told my 20 foot Airstream to build out a 4x4 Sprinter and I could not be happier. You can get all of the places that a trailer and Prius can't (including remote and rough places like Engineer and Ophir passes in CO) and still live very comfortably!
Camp is really rocking his dude with the family patriarch filling out the pack. Your dad has a great personality, and I love that you both show how beautiful, wholesome, supportive, and important a father-daughter relationship can be, a very deep abiding friendship. Over the summer, the western and tornado-belt states may be having some climate related issues, fires, floods, droughts, storms, already started. So maybe it’s a blessing you couldn’t find a vehicle yet, time to be well spent in New England for a while. I know the poison ivy, bears, and less open space might be inconvenient but there’s a lot of beauty too, as you know. Camper sitting on the bench eating from the fork was just too cute, a classy boy. I am 72 and never was allergic to poison I y it oak. Very fortunate. All the camping trips from Girl Scouts to camping with my husband in later years never once did I ever have a problem and neither of my sons or my husband had problems with it . Thankyou Jesus. God bless. Your dads a hoot.
Keeping the Prius for now had to be a hard choice I imagine especially after trying such nice rigs but with the current gas prices it was a wise choice 😁

Getting a new vehicle is a tough one but the only one I could even consider right now is another hybrid because gas and specifically diesel isn't coming down in price anytime soon. So another Toyota would be my choice and plus the minivan would be a lot bigger without being massive for stelth camping

@@NikkiDelventhal Your dad stole the show in this video, but you asked which vehicle we liked best. I would say the 144 4x4. As this is something you want to keep doing year over year, I think it is important to have a shower and full size bed. You also need a frig and freezer to prepare more food from scratch. You eat healthy but in the Prius it seems you to rely on a fair amount of processed foods. Also having extra room would be great if you find the 2nd love of your life. There is a YT channel called Humble Road who is located in NY he makes quality products and even does a yearly inspection. This would work out perfectly because he is not far from your parent's home. Have a wonderful holiday.
