      I feel sorry for women lol prob a easy fix. Mechanic and dealers love screwing ppl off well they may not love it but need the money. My prius got 300000 miles on swapped engine. Went to LA few days ago check engine light is on, I carry a scanner. Engine overheated. Did I replace anything? No. Sometimes in a rare occasion it creates bubbles, air pockets from the top opening. Nothing you can do about it but release the air. That's it. Cost $0, actually I added coolant $15. You go to a shop and there's no way you'll get away without paying them $1,200 lol. I was lazy few months ago and thought I'll let the mechanic fix my ac which goes on and off. He said I need to replace the condenser, $1,400 with labor lol. I told him to screw off in my mind. I went to work and discovered when the coolant isn't circulating properly, the ac won't work properly because it's connected. Again it's air bubbles. More common than you think and responsible for false diagnosis. So in like 2 years of extensive driving I have to release air pockets from my coolant. That's it. Sell me your prius if you don't want it Nikki lol. I'll take it.

    "Hotel Rav" has a nice ring to it. The newer Rav4 AWD Hybrids would check pretty much every box it seems you need. They have Toyota reliability (obviously) hybrid fuel economy, increased interior space, AWD for those tough spots, and plenty of ground clearance for those campsites far off the beaten path. I don't see how you could go wrong!

    It's provided tons of exciting miles exploring, plus some off-road adventures, that little Toyota has served you very well.

    • @Infinityfields
      @Infinityfields 2 роки тому

      @UA-cam Channel I would hate to shoot holes in your Rav4 Prime option but that is what I am going to do. Rav4 Prime combined city/hwy is 38mpg using the battery gives estimated 94mpge. The range on RAV4 Prime is estimated 594miles. The cost is $39,800 depending where you buy. Down side is RAV4’s are known for transmission and power train problems and they are loud when driving at highway speeds.
      Prius Prime combined city/hwy is 52mpg using battery gives 133mpge!! The range is 640miles on only 11.4 gallons. The cost is $28,200 depending where you buy. Prius Prime is a quiet reliable long lasting vehicle that is cheaper to maintain than the Rav4. One other thing between these two vehicles is a major deciding factor; the RAV4 battery is estimated to last 3-5 years but the Prius Prime battery is rated to last 10 years or 150,000 miles!! Should Nikki pay more for more problems or pay less for more reliable longer lasting transportation? My guess is the Prius Prime would clearly be the better choice. My Prius PlugIn currently has 18,000 miles on the trip A and average mileage during that time is 86.5mpg and that is driving both summer and winter. In summer the average mpg skyrockets due to more travel using battery/gas option. But if going off road is a desire then when Nikki’s knee heals walking and hiking is always a fun and healthy way to go.

    I love how much Camper loves his grandparents!! I totally understand emotional attachment...my mom passed away and I inherited her car. I drove it home from the hospital after my son was born, my husband got his driver's license in that car, we took family vacations in that car...the pins my mom had pinned onto her headliner were still there...then it died. I stored it in my carport for YEARS until we had enough money to get it running again...it lasted 8 more months until it died again and this time the work needed was far more than the car was worth and the money would be better spent investing in a new car. Sad sad day letting that car go. My mom loved it...it was a zippy cobalt blue sporty thing that my mom adored. It was very hard to let go but I have all the photos of the inside and all our memories in photos of vacations and milestones in that car. It was time. Hope they can fix your car and you can have many more memories in it before her time is up...but if it is up...it'll be ok. Trust.

    Have a Prius. The way all of the lights came on certainly smells of 12V AUX battery/charge circuit. There are not many reasons so many different systems could be in error at once unless it was related to AUX bus. Hope they figure it out!

    Hi Niki. Just watched the video again. A few months ago I saw an investigative news show on tv where the dealership guy near Toronto took the customers car overnight and went on a joy ride to another city for over 100 miles. The owner just happened to know the mileage when she dropped it off. Hmmm. Makes one wonder??

    Trade your Prius for Van. Yes, a Van. You will be able to moves around better, sleep better, eat, Chang clothes, wash up, prepare meals, the list goes on. Camper will love the extra room too. See if Toyota has a sienna or something bigger than the Prius. Hope all is well, feel better.

    I love watching your adventures ms meeting new challenges … but I’ve just taken delivery of a 2012 Prius V Level 5 with only 92,000 miles and can’t help but think you’d appreciate all the extra room inside … a little wider, longer and taller. If you need to replace rather repair … look at Prius V before you make a final decision. The V is everything you know and love about your present car … and so much more! 👍😊

    I have watched multiple videos now, including this one, where you had to get the prius fixed.
    The prius set up is great, and I can understand why you're in love with it, but it may be time to consider that you might need to retire the poor girl and move on to a alternative.

    Well I told you so about Fort Fisher - though you were probably in and out already before I suggested this on your other video. While I won’t dispute your top 3 for Wilmington, I would add a 4th must see even though there’s still a lot more to experience in historic Wilmington, NC. My suggested #4 would be the Battleship North Carolina. There are only 8 battleships remaining in the US, so it’s a relatively rare attraction. Oh and for the record - the remaining battleships - all museum ships now - are: Massachusetts, New Jersey, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Alabama, Texas, Iowa, and Missouri. Good luck with the repairs….

    There’s so much to say, but know I’ll forget something. So you of the mind that Camper is learning Spanish from you?!? I’m guessing his previous owner was a fluent Spanish speaker, but could no longer support having him and was set free to find a new and loving home. I actually believe Camper was already bilingual. So were you not offered a removable cast to immobilize your knee while relaxing? The thoughts that cross my mind during those freeway backups, if it wasn’t at rush hour, is I hope there wasn’t a crash with a fatality. And sometimes delays are course correction in your life to put you in the correct time and space, because something of an unforeseen issue would have occurred had you not been delayed. Oh it’s too bad, I didn’t know you had a decadent sweet tooth. I would have directed you to a donut shop if I was sure covid didn’t cause it’s closure. It’s called psycho donuts. It has the best and most creative stylized donuts I’ve eaten. The Dead Elvis, rock road, road rash raspberry, strawberry fields forever, and many more that I can’t recall. Then there’s Harris Ranch rest stop restaurant. Their store has some delicious lemon bars, and Boston crème filled crème puffs, and eclairs. Yum yum, nom nom nom ahhhh! Oh and grass fed great cuts of steaks. Perhaps if and when you come back around and trek through California. Will you be in the market for one of the brand new all electric vehicles from Toyota? I wonder if they would give you one so you could review it for the entire time you’re on road through all the conditions you would put it through on a daily basis? Wouldn’t that be fun and exciting. You could charge your generator using their solar panel roof! Oh, you know if you had a 40” longboard cruiser skateboard, you could have Camper pull you to aid you in getting through those long walks in the parks you visit. Just make sure you get one with the wide wheels for going over pebbles and sticks for long distances, and not the smaller thin wheels for doing tricks. There’s a guy in my neighborhood that does that with his dog. He flys by through these streets. Just watch for pot holes. Well you made it back home in time for Mother’s Day to a very warm welcome and on the last legs left on your home on the road went kaput. What’s the verdict regarding your knee?

    Question: is there any chance that the green fuel nozzle at 12:50 was diesel? Green usually (but not always) signifies) diesel fuel. If that was the case, there could have been enough diluting gasoline in the tank so that it would still run, but not well. You can get away with 5-10% diesel contamination, but more than that will cause more serious problems. Asking because it seemed like the problems arose immediately after that in the video.
