"Leave nothing but footprints / Take nothing but photographs" -- a sign I remember from my trip ferrying a Dutch TV crew from Denver to Beaver Creek in the early 90s for an at-home interview with former president Gerald Ford. Some things stay with you. Now you and Camper will as well.

Oh man, that’s where I wanted to go. I’ve always wanted to see the columns. Lucky you and of course Camper. My Uncle taught us to respect the outdoors. When we would first arrive at a campground we would have to clean the area. Of course we always cleaned before we left. It didn’t matter if it wasn’t our trash. It made me feel proud. It still does.
Absolutely gorgeous scenery! My grandpa and grandma always took me camping and fishing growing up and taught me to respect the land! I've passed this along to my 3 sons and now my granddaughter!!!! ❤❤❤❤

I agree that humans will be long gone and that Mother Earth will cleanse, but it is about the quality of your life while you and generations to come, are alive.
@@FangBlah yes we have been on this planet for some time now and we have been doing just fine. like i said there nothing we can do to change anything the earth does. hell one volcano does more damage then humans can do in 7 years. so that should tell you the level at which the planet gives no fucks about what humans do. while i can see your point about landfills and cesspools but to be honest going to any community pool got you covered for a cesspool. and landfills are no different then say a hoarders house so i mean to each there own i guess.

We can leave places better than when we arrived so we can enjoy them without the smell of literal 💩 poop and trash everywhere and in the waters - this last weekend I was in Tahoe and tourists left 8,500+ lbs of trash on the beach in just one day… it looked like a landfill, disgusting. It’s absurd we can’t just respect beautiful places and leave them that way for EVERYONE to enjoy , not just the minutes we went there once. Sure there’s things that are out of our control, but that is not one of them.

Your right Nikki its a shame that people trash the home we call earth. The other day I saw people cleaning up trash along the highway. Trash goes in the trashcan not our home. Its just not a pleasant site to see trash everywhere especially outside. I hope a lot of people hear your message about leave no trace ethics and leavening the place you were better then when you got there. Keep preaching the message sister and hopefully on day we will see and cleaner earth for everyone to enjoy.

Absolutely beautiful scenery and adventure off the beaten track, Nikki. We marvel at your unbridled enthusiasm and adventurous spirit. And the fully customized van is incredible when in use (especially movie night)! And thank you for reminding everyone of "Leave No Trace" behavior.
As someone who doesn't live TOO far from this area, and has seen the change in visitors over the past 10 years, I really appreciate your comment about promoting the outdoors vs. overpopulation. In the end, go explore but charish every bit of land that you come across. We are near a tipping point where things like this won't be possible in the near future. Everyone please don't worry about keeping your favorite secret spots away from the public, but tell people to go explore and find their own! Share the love of what we have here, and how to protect it!! ❤❤❤❤❤

I completely agree with the leave no trace behind policy. So many leave used toilet paper in these beautiful locations and it just irritates us to no end. We visited the Mammoth area and found hot springs but had to leave due to the huge amount of big mosquitoes! It was crazy! Love your adventures!

i hear you on some people trashing beautiful places....very sad. We have the same problem in Quebec. People trash free camping spots, locals complain to the authorities, and no overnight camping signs suddenly appear. How many times have pick up trash from previous travellers. Now medical gloves and lots of thrash bags are a must in my van luggage!

Fascinating geology. Yes, respect those mosquitoes. I have a friend who contracted West Nile virus . We’re it not for extraordinary medical intervention, she would have died. Long ago I learned mosquitoes don’t bite through nylon jackets. Carry on. Safe travels.

About 15 years ago I visited this area and it is nice to see it again. Since you are heading north I thought about a BBQ restaurant in Lee Vining I would go to on my trips. Look it up, but the name sounds different. Maybe closed or changed because of COVID. Have you visit the old mining town at Bodie State Park? That was cool. Love your vids. Almost as much as I like Camper.
