- Will Ramos of Lorna Shore stopped by my studio for a few quick collabs, and the last of many to come is this gem: Fleshgod Apocalypse. One of Will's favorite bands, he mentioned on a live stream that I had to hear them at some point, and many of you agreed! So, we break down one of his favorite songs and guess what - I teach him some new stuffs!
Also, I did a course with Will Ramos and Chris Liepe where you can learn how to create harsh vocal sounds yourself! Check it here: www.mymusicalvoice.com/p/ulti...
Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Fleshgod Apocalypse for the first time, performing "The Fool”.

I don't know if you did the full version of the Nightwish style song yet, but all of us are begging Nik for it. And we NEED you to sing it! Your vocals were amazing in the short.
Charismatic voice! You must must do video on Joe Cocker one of the best and most unique voices in rock and blues ever.
Rachel Ferrell ... she can do all sounds ua-cam.com/video/U4Lm-bBwHjQ/v-deo.html
I love learning from you!! Beyond grateful for everything you do. Love your style. Thank you thank you thank you! 🖤💜🖤💜🖤
That was a muted trumpet that went "bwaaahwn" near the beginning of the song.
I swear, if Elizabeth doesn't have a vocal part on Lorna Shore's next album, I'm going to throw a fit.
Yo, this, yes, YES, YESS!!!
Same!
Hype!
I approve of this message.
We ALL are going to throw a fit lol
I'm guessing Will has moved into the guest bedroom by this point. At least you'll have a live-in babysitter! 😂
Good lord I was thinking the same damn thing. Like is HE the baby she and Kirk had? So many Q's.........
😂
I would 💯 leave my kid with Will! Seems like he could entertain a child simply by being himself…a big child 😂
Will: Hey, would you like me to tell you a bedtime story?
MY FINAL BREATH!!!! SWALLOWED BY THE WOMB OF DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw them play this one live; the introduced it by saying, "If you don't like this song, you're a f**ing fool." Then the harpsichord hit and the crowd went nuts
Harpsichords are known to drive crowds nuts.
I LOVE the harpsichord SO much. It sounds so cool, so when I heard it come in, I busted
an instrument that brings whimsy and delight, what better to throw into a death metal composition.
Elizabeth and Will together is the best thing that ever happened in this world 😭❤️
Correct
So much joy and fun. What a great video. Also enjoyed the song.
@@user-eq8ww1gr6vme too, didn't know Fleshgod Apocalypse before but I'm really into their music now!!
It would be brilliant if Elizabeth did an operatic reaction with Will, to see how Will reacts
From Will’s interviews I understood he actually loves opera too but would be fun to see him analyse with Elizabeth something extra special ❤
Something like Casta Diva by Montserrat Caballe would be cool or A collab with Freddie Mercury like Barcelona ❤
Omg yessss
He did react to her opera singing two weeks ago in her studio, it's on his channel !
Will saying, 'how can someone sing that way without hurting himself' had me in tears. Dude makes the most demonic sounds like it takes no effort :')
I recently watched Will's video of just vocals on Immortal and he says something like "No problem" in between some harsh vocals. Like yeah, anyone can do that, Will lmao.
Ok but singing *unclean vocals* and singing *just plain loud* are totally different
I love how thanks to Ramos, suddenly someone finally reacts to some of the best bands out there that basically never get any reaction on youtube. Makes me appreciate him so much more.
Right? Not a lot of reaction exposure to Fleshgod! Great to see some!
And of course, because it's legit death metal and not fused with rock, alternative, or core music, it's not even breaking 40k views lol
It would be awesome if we could get a Septicflesh reaction as well.
I'm sorry but there's no best anything when it comes to death metal it's just noise and screaming , it's what I'd imagine the devil uses to torture souls in hell . Thank god I never heard this shite before and I never want to hear it again
@@gadpivs I mean they're symphonic death so they're very overtly fused with another genre lmao.
Suggestions
Epilogue has their female opera vocalist in it a lot
The collab song they did with Epica sounds like both of the bands put together
The Violation their most famous and best drumming
The great tribulation is very good. It would be really fun if Elizabeth and Will would watch that one together
Couldn't have said it better myself
I've been suggesting for her to do Epilogue for the looongest time lol. I was really hoping that song would be her first from this band
Elisabeth will definitely enjoy Prologue/epilogue and the official video.
I don’t know why this wasn’t the choice for a Fleshgod reaction
Septicflesh would be another amazing listen too. Their blend of classical and metal is incredible. Two of my favorite bands fleshgod and septicflesh.
Yes, those are 2 of my favorite bands as well. Even got to see both of them together when they toured many years ago, one of the best concerts!
Christos legit went to universityto learn how to compose and arrange orchestras for sepctiflesh and now the score for four of the band's songs are in Berklee's library so people can learn and study from them
These collaborations with these 2 seems to have taking on a beautiful friendship. Love when they do these together. And Will just cracks me up 😂
You and Will need to analyse Dimmu Borgir - Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse (Live Forces Of The Northern Night). It's not just a performance, it's an experience.
Agreed, I have requested Dimmu before and she said she would note it.
I WISH there was a live version back with Vortex that was as good of quality as the FOTNN show...
nahhhh that song is only good with Vortex on clean vocals...
@@Gorerupted it's a fantastic song regardless and that's the best quality recorded version of it, so that's the compromise
Agreed. I'm a Dimmu Borgir fan.
Elizabeth would love Epilogue, The Day We'll be Gone, Paramour, and Cold as Perfection
Epilogue needs to happen!
Would love to see a reaction to Cold as Perfection, especially the transition from the opera vocals to guitar solo
@@BFMV1100 that would also be a beautiful song choice 🖤
Ah Yes! Fleshgod Apocalypse, saw them open for a show years ago and hadn't heard of them at the time. As soon as Veronica came on the stage I was sucked in and have been a fan ever since. This band is amazing!
Lucky they've been my 4th favorite band since the Album Labyrinth and I haven't gotten to see them Live yet
I saw Fleshgod right after Mafia came out, and they've been one of my favorite bands since. All their albums are masterpieces, in my opinion.
@@Werewolf914 I hope you do get to see them live soon. They have a great live show, lots of energy and the pit is usually fire.
@@Werewolf914 I've seen them live around five or six times over the years; they never disappoint and they tour a LOT! When you get a chance, definitely go see them!
Seriously though. The friendship between these two is iconic and beautiful.
If you like Fleshgod Apocalypse you need to hear Septicflesh. They're another awesome symphonic death metal band
Also they did a live show a few years back with a full orchestra and it's so epic. The Vampire From Nazareth would be a good one to start with
Totally agree! Saw those two bands together in 2013 and I've been in love with both ever since!
Septic Flesh is one of my all time favorites. Musically there's a lot to dissect there too. Totally second that choice!
Do they have any more riff based songs? I've been trying to get into them for a long time but it seems like all the songs I try (including this), while being great in other aspects, just have overly simplistic riffs that I get bored of.
I saw the 2 bands in live at the same concert (Septicflesh and FA )on latinoamerican tour in 2017. The best concert ever !
@@blackMetalPiano se suponia que iba a ver a ambas bandas en perú con In Flames ese año pero se canceló el concierto a último minuto creo que por un incendio
Fun fact: you can find orcherstra only versions of the songs from the album "King" (from which "The Fool" comes from).
Their pianist Francesco Ferrini does an amazing job with orcherstrations.
Fun fact 2: the drummer you hear in the track was originally their frontman (main vocals and rhythm guitar), and in 2017 he became the frontman once again.
Fun fact 3: every single album of theirs has at least 1 orchestral version of a song from it.
Will Ramos has a fun personality, making this videos great entertainment while being educational.
Will just gave the best explanation I’ve ever heard on the difference between deathmetal and deathcore. He really has the best personality ever, I love these two together being so different, yet sharing an extreme love for music. ❤
He nailed it. It's exactly why I don't like Deathcore. haha
Seemed pretty simplistic. For one, the cookie monster vocal they referenced at the beginning is definitely more of a death metal thing. Actually, being a vocalist himself I'm surprised he didn't mention some of the common vocal motifs of deathcore. It tends to push as many weird sounds or styles together as possible whereas death metal tends to stick to more of a strong growl. And yes... break downs are certainly a part of any music derived from hardcore but death metal has slams which are essentially the same thing just a little less percussive and staccato. Anyone who claims to dislike deathcore due to breakdowns but digs death metal without addressing slams is kind of hypocritical. There are certainly many other subtleties to differentiate these sub genres but I think it's sort of been the cool thing to shit on deathcore since a year after that scene exploded. It's been dead for like 15 years so I think at this point we can look at who's left and say, yeah these are probably the best of the best, and rather than spend time generalizing about the genre use the words for what they were meant for in the first place. A way to describe the style. Unfortunately, it still causes a great deal of confusion and resentment, even if someone hasn't given a particular band an honest listen.
So looking forward to the next Lorna Shore album full of consonants and diphthongs! That will be amazing!
Elizabeth nerding out about a harpsichord is the greatest thing ever. This is a friendship I never expected but it's amazing.
I need Elizabeth to try teach Will how to sing opera one video 😩
OMG The Fool is my favorite song of them! It has EVERYTHING
EDIT: Well it doesn't have Veronica's operatic singing so no... it doesn't have EVERYTHING, still is my favorite song of them tho xD
I'd also recommend Cold as Perfection and Prologue/Epilogue for Veronica's amazing parts, and because you're an opera singer, you'd have some HEAVY things to say about our Monnalisa :D
Missed opportunity, but Fleshgod Apocalypse has an incredible female opera singer in the band. I would LOVE to hear Elizabeth's take on Veronica's voice and technique. Unfortunately, "The Fool" doesn't showcase Veronica at all.
At this point you HAVE to listen to Septicflesh and/or Rotting Christ. Amazing display of theatrical, classical types with some harshness! Love it
Septicflesh have so many great songs, hell yeah!
This is the best UA-cam duo the music scene has ever had.
So glad to see Fleshgod Apocalypse getting some more exposure!
A golden retriever meets border collie. A match made in personality and vocal heaven!
Elizabeth and Will together is such a great treat. Love watching them together in the Charismatic Voice
Finally Fleshgod Apocalypse!
Thanks Will. 😉😉🤘
The song "No" by Fleshgod has a great video with gothic visuals matching their musical style, plus a very unexpected musical quote. must see!
Plus the nod to Britney Spears lol
@@rugbyfan113 no spoilers - that was what I meant with the unexpected quote. :-D
I love these collabs, and massive thank you to Will for introducing me to Sleep Token. I'm obsessed now
Glad Fleshgod Apocalypse are getting this exposure. Sensational band!
I can't even tell you how excited I am right now, not only do we have Will Ramos back for another video but Fleshgod Apocalypse is my 4th favorite band and no one really ever talks about them unless it's like a Drumming Reaction to Francescos insane drums.
Elizabeth and Will elevating the listening experience once again! This analysis was fun. Will put Fleshgod Apocalypse on my radar a long time ago. He has never led me astray. I love his appreciation for epic symphonic melodies and vocalists with different capabilities than himself. He is a fan first and a musician second which is what makes him so down to earth and relatable.
Really enjoy how Elizabeth sprinkles in all the knowledge for the vocal nuances/instrumentation she hears and Will is like, “I never noticed that!” This is why I love listening to music with people who truly appreciate it and when I can’t find that in my friends, I come here to watch Elizabeth and Will enjoy the same music I do. Thank you again for a very entertaining and informative video!
Fleshgod Apocalypse are really special. BTW their singer Francesco Paoli sang "L`assedio di Porto Cervo" on Nanowar of Steels albumg "Italian Folk Metal". I really love the song and his voice. :D
Hi! I’ve been a long time lurker on the channel. My wife and I both ABSOLUTELY love your channel! We both constantly say “oh! The charismatic voice lady should review this song!!”
I introduced to her a band the other day, and we both agreed you HAVE to do a review for a “Protest the Hero” song. They are entirely unique (from my experiences with music), blending progressive metal, classical sounding falsetto vocals, and high/low guttural screams. I feel that they would be a perfect fit for what you look for in the channel.
Bloodmeat, sequoia throne, or palms read are some of their more popular songs, but my personal favorite is called ‘wretch’. Anything off of their ‘Fortress’ album is definitely worth looking into.
Once again, LOVE your content! And I hope this comment doesn’t get lost in the the abundance of UA-cam comments, because I feel like you ABSOLUTELY need to look into them!
Elizabeth, I love your kid. He grew up so fast!
The best Fleshgod song! Followed closely by "And the Vulture Beholds". Wonderful mad band
for me personal "FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE - Monnalisa" the symphonic part shines allot in that song 😁
Finally, thanks Will... I have been asking for Fleshgod for two years now.
Francesco is a regular member of Fleshgod and yes he plays the piano in every song + that he has a classical piano piece on every album.... they also have Veronica in the band and she is an opera singer.
Fleshgod Apocalypse did an amazing collaboration with EPICA on “The Alchemy Project.”
Elizabeth does love Simone.
Watching Will bobblehead at the beginning of the vocals sparks great joy
There can't be a human alive that doesn't absolutely adore Elizabeth x
And Will is a total diamond. Gotta see him in Leeds!
Now we NEED a Will Ramos and Elizabeth track 🤘
No lie I heard a few seconds of this song then I paused looked into another song and damn I can’t get enough. 🥵😂
Just a suggestion, check out more of the Swedish metal scene, an incredibly diverse scene encompassing many different metal genres and subgenres. You did did react to a few Swedish bands, most notably Opeth and Arch Enemy(you should do more of both bands btw) but there is so much more to the Swedish metal scene. Here are some notable Swedish metal bands to check out: Hammerfall, In Flames, Soilwork, Dark Tranquility, At the Gates and Amon Amarth, in no particular order.
33:36 was soo funny. Elizabeth's face was like "wait, he can do that?!"
next Lorna Shore album will have clean and operatic Will vocals, calling it now! 😆
I love watching people nerd out over things they love! It warms the heart and soul.
Love these collabs!
Man I missed the premiere... Thanks for the beautiful video ❤
I saw Fleshgod live, probably around 2010, and they were incredibly accurate live. They also refused to play until the sound was set up correctly, they stood on stage glowering at the venue's sound guy until it was right, we all waited but it was worth it.
You two are adorable. The love and passion for the music just radiates from both of ya. This was super fun, ty.
Im so excited about this! Can’t wait to watch. This might be the most fascinating and educational video of yours yet.
I love seeing you and Will hang out. I can tell you are both just legitimately having fun. This should happen more.
I can’t get enough of these❣️❣️❣️ Thank you both
These collabs are beginning to gain legendary status!
Keep 'em coming 😀
The Return of Willabeth 😁#letsgetscreamy 😁
Not the screamiest in the album, but it will do. 😁😁🤘

I find it impressive on how Will can still manage to visit for some content even tho hes been touring and such
I've been hoping for this one for a while. Yes!
Ah my favorite band, I cannot wait! Beyond excited for this one Elizabeth!
I really like that Will is actually learning from Elizabeth. I also like that he is becoming part of the show now. We keep seeing him more and more. It's like one of us is there with her.
lmao wow
Love the vids you do together. Such synergy!
Absolutely LOVE you guys together!
I love to see a all time favorite song from both of you and do a break down of the 2
Will be watching them live next week ...🤘🏻
This friendship and this content are pure gold
This is brilliant, and so interesting to see/hear their different perspectives!
You absolutely have to listen to Epilogue by Fleshgod next!
Loved Will's contribution to this video. You guys' chemistry is on point
New to this channel & I'm in awe rn. Also, i love how their shirts clash/contradict. "Use your singing hole" vs headless bodies dancing
Almost like the one's on his shirt is dancing with the "singing hole" 😅
Absolutely love it when Will is on your show. The chemistry between you 2 is refreshing and natural
I have seen them live, and they are so amazing. Love this band.
Love you two together! You can actually SEE you learning from each other
This is probably a top 10 fav metal album. Worth noting that there is a version of the whole album that is just the orchestration that is also awesome!
Ahh, King. One of my favourite albums ❤
You two are amazing together thank you for this amazing MASH UP!!!!!!!!!
These reviews are great! And yes, i need a Lorna Shore album with Elizabeth on it!
Thank you Will Ramos!!!
I´ve been waiting so long for Fleshgod to show up on this channel. Let´s go
Ah you guys are a great duo. Also, really enjoyed the deep dive on Opera singing.
You guys are so adorable together. Hope to see many more collaborations between you two 🙂
You two are from such different backgrounds but mesh so well. The back and forth trying to analyze this crazy circus metal mental mind *four letter word* (respect to the channel) whatever this is so fun and informative, and badass too. Love both of you, keep putting smiles on our faces.
FA is amazing. I finally got to see them live a few months ago and they were everything i wanted from them.
I love these videos so much, your energy together is such a treat. You should have Will listen to Opera for the first time! It'd be such a fun twist on your usual dynamic in these videos of him showing you something he loves that's new to you. You should show him something that you love that's new to him. There'd be so much space to make analysis on the piece, especially as you can compare the similarities to metal!
King is full of bangers start to finish, no skips. LOVE FGA. So glad Will introduced it to the channel!
Fleshgod are amazing! Nice to see them getting some love! And yes!!! Love all the Will content! Love the two of you doing videos together!
I would love to spend the day with Will... he's adorable!!
Really enjoyed this episode and the song was cool. Great song choice Will! I'm going to check out more Fleshgod.
Also thumbs up for referencing Wardruna!
Thanks Elizabeth and Will! This was a terrific analysis. Fleshgod Apocalypse are thrilling, and I thought this would be really exciting for you Elizabeth. Every on of their tracks in incredible and you can't go wrong, but if you analyze another FA track, I'd recommend Epilogue, that really showcases their operatic vocalist Veronica who isn't featured on The Fool. Thanks again though!
I saw Fleshgod when they opened for Wintersun years ago. I was blown away!
So glad you finally checked out Fleshgod! I saw them live twice in some pretty small bars, one in Cleveland and one in Pittsburgh, seeing them with full band, opera singer, and baby grand piano all in stage in that setting is mind blowing.
I've heard classical and metal both tickle the same parts of the brain and i feel this band proves that perfectly. Looking forward to you checking out one of their songs with the operatic singer as well! Good work!
omg yes! I've always wanted to see you react to this band! Also note that there are several songs by them that include opera parts. It's great, Will can guide you to those.
WILL LEGEND!!! Perfect!! I never even thought about this! I found Lorna Shore and Fleshgod my 2 faves at the same time well 2 of my faves LOL!
oh my god I totally forgot about Fleshgod Apocalypse!! Used to be a huge fan. Love this track! Elizabeth and Will are great analyzers! excellent video as always!
Introducing me to something I wouldn't think of listening to. I'm open to that in my late 40s 😁
I'm really enjoying these collabs between you two. Will is definitely one of the most skilled vocalists in modern metal, so this is always super interesting to watch being an "extreme vocalist" myself ☝️🧐
Dimmi Borgir would be a great listen in this genre as well!
Love love love videos with Will!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hell yeah, one of my fave bands too! Good taste, Will ❤
If you ever revisit this band, I would love to see your take on The Forsaking. Bring Will, he’s no stranger to angry sad songs!
My 2 favorite things about Elizabeth and Will doing reacts together is that they both have great chaotic energy in very different ways and Will have the same genuine reactions to Elizabeth's analysts as me and maybe many others do.
