Francesco Paoli is the drummer on this song, he's one of the founding members of the band. Originally he was the lead guitarist, but they needed a drummer so he learned drums, at the point of recording this album he's been playing drums for about 2-3 years. He's considered one of the best drummers in extreme metal. Sadly, Francesco is back on guitar and has taken over lead vocals as well since the departure of their lead singer/lead guitarist.
Francesco Ferrini does the orchestration for the band and does piano, and yes for live shows they have a big piano on stage that he plays, its awesome.
Fleshgod Apocalypse is one helluva unique band, i've seen them lives several times. Some song recommendations from them "The Forsaking" "Minotaur" "Pathfinder" "The Fool" and "Thru Our Scars"

@@nonono7973 Never really liked Francesco as a drummer. I know it's not his main thing, and that was pretty obvious in their live performances. Extremely sloppy playing. Eugene isn't quite up to Francesco's top speed just yet but his playing is much cleaner.

    • @BaerndXP
      @BaerndXP Рік тому +7

When Francesco announced that he'll leave the drum throne I first was like "what the fuck? He can't!" and then "How will they replace them? I mean there's only one drummer in the world who could fill in, that hard working ukranian guy with the violation drum cover, but they never will...." And they did. And I was like "YES!". Eugene is the perfect match for this job and fleshgod in their current lineup are just insanely awesome. Could'nt be better.

So my first exposure to this band was live; they were supporting Wintersun on tour. It was a small ass bar venue, and for the band setup, they had to haul an upright piano through the side door and up on to the stage (luckily just a section of floor a few inches higher than the rest) and a few of us were asked to assist with the piano carry...then they melted our faces with this song as the opener

This song was my introduction to them, and personally the stuff where Francesco Paoli is playing drums, (he can play anything), but the way the orchestra follows his drums, just awesome. An example of extreme stamina is the song kingborn, Francesco used to split the song up. There's a perfect cover of the song by David diepold playing all the way through.

You already reacted to the lead singer / guitarist from Emperor in his solo band called Ihsahn - The Pain is Still Mine and he is the brother in law to the singer from Leprous.

This has been very much anticipated, finally, thank you! Fleshgod is an amazing band, i'm certain there have been plenty of people expanding on the band, i'll just say that they have a multitude of amazing tracks to listen to, for a variety of reasons:
The oppression, from agony, amazingly time-shifty fills
The egoism, from agony, an amazing track throughout
The first 3 songs from their mafia ep are all amazing
The betrayal, from agony, a drumming nightmare, an awesome track
And the vulture beholds, from king, amazingly epic orchestration
Towards the sun, from labyrinth, amazing orchestration, again
Epilogue, from labyrinth, showcases veronica more prominently
In honour of reason, from oracles, heavy as all hell
Pathfinder, from labyrinth, a great composition throughout. Although to be honest the entire labyrinth album should be listened to from start to finish
In all honesty i could recommend everything from them, but as a more unusual suggestion i would also say that you should check out their title songs for each album; oracles, mafia, agony, labyrinth, king and veleno. Each of them is a classical piano composition meant to embody the atmosphere and theme of each album.

Of you like the violation. Then you really should listen to The Forsaking. It's a masterpiece.

It’s a slightly different sound, but I’d highly recommend “Ultima Hypocrita” by Mental Cruelty. It has one of the greatest guitar solos I’ve ever heard.

The King album is actually significantly better in my opinion. In Aeternum is the track that turned me on to them, a band I otherwise probably wouldn't have liked.

Maybe I'm weird but I find Fleshgod Apocalypse to be calming for me. I listen to them daily. Opeth is another band that cools me down. I'm in a happy place when listening to well constructed metal. American metal doesn't do it for me, European metal does.

Someone may correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think Fleshgod has ever recorded with live strings/orchestra. Hopefully they can make that happen someday. It’s also worth checking out photos of their stage outfits and consider how they can shred the way they do.

Fleshgod Apocalypse is incredible. This song is mostly recommended for shock value (the machine guns aka the drums), it's not really one of their best songs in my humble opinion. I think you would appreciate the following songs more: "Epilogue", "Monnalisa", "No", or "Sugar". On the latter two, the drummer has actually taken over the vocals and rythm guitar.

For your own viewing pleasure, David Diepold does a drum cover kingborn, by fleshgod....filmed super professionally, also probably the most naturally talented extreme drummers going.... you have to see to believe what these fellas are capable of!
Love your breakdowns, your also super talented, love your vids👍👍
