You’ve left me overwhelmed and emotional. Seeing Scotland has been my dream since I was young…now 72. You’re giving me so much, my legs can’t hike anymore. Thank you 💕
Stayed on Skye in my motorhome, first night in Portree, set up, put up the awning for my step daughter & her husband, went into town, had a lovely meal. We settled in for the night then were awakened at 2am with some of the strongest winds I’ve ever known out of nowhere. The van was shaking, the awning was slowly turning into a flag & the dogs were going crazy. Those winds come from nowhere & vanish as fast as they arrive. Great video mate, love it.
I have called Skye home since 2019 when my wife and I moved up here from Leicestershire. It is the best thing we ever done as not only is it beautiful but also very spiritual. I feel that at long last I can breath.
Am watching from the central Arizona desert. It is 75 degrees F at 9:30 P,M., and willĺ be high of 111F in 4 days hence. Want to praise you for the professional videographly skill you display in this Skye Trail adventure. You transport this 77 y old lady to the Isle of Skye, impressing me yet again with the wide range of your bushcrafting, hiking and communication skills. Thank you for sharing your infectious joy on this adventure. You have made us all feel we are there with you these nearly 10 years. My wish for you is that you have not regretted a moment of your channel, even though there have been trying times. In my opinion, channels of the quality of yours represent the best of youtube.
This is the first time I've been able to watch one of these long hikes as they're posted, rather than being able to watch them back to back. I'm not sure how I'll cope waiting for the next episode! You're such an inspiration, I hope one day I'll be in a position to do stuff like this too. Love it!
Absolutely Brilliant Hazey 🤙🏴 Those bags on your feet blowing gracefully in the Scottish wind had me ins stitches man Travel safe brother 🤙🏴
I’ve visited Skye once and was blown away by the rugged beauty and can’t wait to return now that I’ve started this journey kindly shared by you. Thanks Hazey, your videos are inspiring and uplifting. 🙂
Towards the end of vid....hahahahahaaa yeeess whoooo!!! Love it and get it❤ wish more would understand! Love watching your content, its better then a film and very well done👌
Every now and again I come across a tiny bit of liquid gold on UA-cam, that time-lapse sequence of the stars and aurora set to music was just such a moment, thank you....
Well done getting to the start Hazey 👍 I did the ST on my little channel a few years back. Jaw dropping and emotional! The Trotternish Ridge is the hardest day I’ve ever walked. Proper Knackered.
You had me in the first 30 seconds, Hazy. Your heart shines through in all you do. You’re a good man. Thank you for sharing. Please keep it coming as long as you enjoy it and let that be your guide. Peace, brother.
Ey up me duck. Tiz aluz a pleasure watching your journeys fella, very inspirational to a relative beginner like myself and I doth my cap to you for your continued support for mental health awareness and your openness about your own struggles. It goes a long way, trust me. Yours: Paul, a fellow sufferer 💚🤜🤛
Good video Rick, I liked the med kit advice as well, I always take one out but I do leave it in camp when am off getting fire wood, a bit daft really considering that's when am at most risk 🤦. I am going to look into a on person kit, thanks for that rick great advice 👍
Great video, looking forward to the rest. I did the Skye trail last year and got incredible weather. Stage 2 was an absolute killer, also stage 6 around the coast is sketchy in parts, wouldn't want to do that in rough weather!
Mr Hazy, yet another great video. Your videos are inspiring, thoughtful and can be emotional.....a joy to watch. Thankyou for the time it takes in editing and putting them out. Fabulous scenery. Looking forward to the rest. Cheers.
Fantastic mate! Have been to Skye recently myself, absolutely beautiful place. That Quirrang is something else, I loved walking that. Can't wait till your next episode! 👍
Another class video. I love watching your hikes and your camping videos, especially when I am down mentally they help me get my hiking boots laced up and get back out on the trails. keep up the good work
27 minutes in when you showed how happy you were, fantastic. Makes me want to start doing these walks, im old, fat with bad knees but i reckon ill have to do at least one. ❤
You are the best channel i have ever come across you have such a magnetic personality and witty humor I love your content so please keep up the awesome work you absolute legend 😤👑 also... (hiiii from New Zealand)
As always, another truly enjoyable video. This time on my home island. Just I don't live there anymore. I'm a bit intrigued for next video to see if you bump into my brother as he regularly hikes and camps on the Quiraing and trotternish ridges. Keep on hiking lad...much love and respect.
My Dad was up on Skye back in the '50's with his army mates. They were way up on one of the ridges, having a break for lunch, when my dad dropped his orange. It plummeted down the mountain side, spinning faster and faster until it smashed itself apart on the rocks way below. For the rest of the hike he couldn't get the picture of his orange, and how fast it went to it's death. Puckered poop shoots till dusk.
Well done Hazey lad! Some going that, 14 miles on your first day - rough terrain in parts. I have done the Flodigarry - Quiraing - Old Man Storr walk before. It's terrific. Hope the wind calmed down a little. Can nae wait for Part Two! Cheers, Ian
Excellent buddy look forward to the next one. Would love to see a video of the meals you consume on these multi day treks. The daily calorie intake must be high
I’d love Super Ted to come a rescue me. He can bring Spotty as well. Great Sunday viewing. You should have your own segment on Country File with John Craven. All the best mate.
Great vid as always mate. Terrible I'm only a few hours away and only visted twice with the kids. Always been meaning to go up and get in some hiking in.
Just finished it last week same route, check out the vid. At bottom ensure to camp at second bay after bothy, it’s awesome. There is a pool half way after Slagachan hotel. Ensure you to to Elgol and have the Elgolian sandwich from the seafood hut. Don’t miss the Torrin pools. Good luck
Thank you for the excellent video mate. It’s so easy to forget that it’s just one man and his camera…feels like you do a 360 and just for a sec you slip up and there is a crew of film makers there with you 😅. I appreciate you finding the energy and positive vibes.
I feel like a small gate fixing kit needs to be added to your gear; tub of lube, split pins and any other bits the CEO of Latches and Locks feels necessary 😁 Cant wait for the next one!
i've got family up there and i've visited many times over the years but it never grabbed me the way the West coast of the mainland did. Got to be honest tho, you've shown some different angles in this clip and it does look tempting. PS that brown in the water is just the peat. Probably cleaner than anything you drink out the tap....and it didn't start it's journey in one of those waste water processing plants :)
I live in the US -- looking for a short to medium hiking trip for vacation -- was thinking about something in the Lake District of England -- but now this looks more interesting -- the distance and scenery is great
One of these days I've got to get to the Isle of Skye for a hiking/camping trip. Was there for a few days two years ago and every corner-view on the road was amazing. Climbed halfway up one of the mountains at the Fairy Pools and wish I had time to go further. Unrelated, is the 550ml pot your preferred size cause you don't do hot drinks on the regular? I've tried that size and never had enough for tea/coffee along with my freeze-dried meal, but I love how it fits in my pack. @27:13 are you using plastic bags as a waterproof layer in your boots? That's a new one to me.
Yeah I put my dry socks on then use bags when I put my wet shoes back on. I much prefer the 550ml because it’s just enough for my meal and if I need a brew I just boil it again
Evening lad! I’m ashamed to admit I’ve been away from your channel for a while after getting into boating in a big way. What a tit I have been 🤦🏻♂️ F***ing love this mate, what an incredible place Skye is, awesome vid! I’ll not be a stranger in future. Part two’s just been dropped so definitely watching these back to back. Much love ❤️

You’re welcome mate
Well done getting to the start Hazey 👍 I did the ST on my little channel a few years back. Jaw dropping and emotional! The Trotternish Ridge is the hardest day I’ve ever walked. Proper Knackered.
Tune in for part 2 to see if it beat me 😂
It helps if you have a partner who’ll carry two rucksacks on the really steep bits…….😂
You had me in the first 30 seconds, Hazy. Your heart shines through in all you do. You’re a good man. Thank you for sharing. Please keep it coming as long as you enjoy it and let that be your guide. Peace, brother.
Beautiful message that mate. Thank you 💚

27:00 That camping spot so reminded me of the sort 'Dave's Wild Camping' would choose!
Good video Rick, I liked the med kit advice as well, I always take one out but I do leave it in camp when am off getting fire wood, a bit daft really considering that's when am at most risk 🤦. I am going to look into a on person kit, thanks for that rick great advice 👍

The what now, the minch. Bet you had fun with that one.
Excellent buddy look forward to the next one. Would love to see a video of the meals you consume on these multi day treks. The daily calorie intake must be high
I like those hotpot ones too but no matter how much digging and stirring I do there's always a big pile of powered crap in the corners!

I’d have bought you a pint mate
Right in that case ... see you there in a week then! 😂
Looks like dinosaur country. Stunning scenery. ⛰️❤
Remember you said this when part 2 drops 😂
So funny you say this. I live close to the Angus glens (N.E Scotland) and I always feel like I’m going back to dino time when I pay them a visit 🦖

Are you doing the Pennine Way? Would love to see you do the complete route.
